Came here after finishing the Challenge Maine half iron distance triathlon. My «award» was lobster. Got the 2 lobster dinner and split the mussels appetizer with my mother. Fantastic. Loved sitting outside on the deck and watching the sunset. It was low tide so watching the gulls running the shore calling out was fun too. Not a typical«ocean sunset» that you see in photos or paintings but it’s a Maine sunset with the lobster boats, small houses along the shore. To me it’s home. Anyway, the mussels were awesome and yummy! The lobster dinner was awesome! End of August so right time for soft shells so the lobsters were easy to crack and plenty of meat. Heavenly! Served with corn on the cob which wasn’t overcooked and tough as can typically happen with a lobster bake or lobster dinner in some establishments. Our waitress was fun and friendly and I was SO happy to get my lobstah before leaving Maine! Great place not far from the beach and not a tourist trap. Go here and get away from the fried crap on the boardwalk!

Absolutely amazing lobster roll! Oh, so good! Generous portions for the price! Sorry, I had to jump into the main course first! It was just that good! We also tired the two different types of soup. My fiancée had the clam Chowder and it was delish! I had the lobster bisque and wow! Very impressive flavor! If you are in the area, I highly recommend this place!

We’ve tried several restaurants in the area including some very pricey places in Portland but this was our go-to when we wanted good food, great views, and friendly service at a reasonable price. Seating is outside only so the weather needs to cooperate but as long as it’s not crazy cold it’s relaxed and beautiful. The lobster flatbread and bisque are top notch. They have an outdoor bar. We ordered Allagash Triple 9% in a growler so that tells you they think outside the Bud. They also sell live lobster at traditional retail prices. It’s casual shorts and t-shirts with nice views of the docks as well as the marsh. Everyone including the customers were friendly. It’s a much different view when the tides change but each has its charm. The beach is a block away. If you are within 30 minutes it’s worth the drive, the neighborhood and beach make for a nice walk or bike ride after you eat.

Great views and good food. We went here for dinner and basically ate everything on the menu and it was tasty. The lobster rolls are larger than usual which is nice because you get a lot of meat.

Great local place right on the water with sunset view. Can sit at the bar and order from menu or have a cocktail and watch the sunset while you wait for a table. Friendly staff and wonderful lobster.

Beautiful and casual setting! Great place to have dinner on a warm evening. The lobster and cocktails were outstanding. On top of the wonderful setting, we were able to bring our dog — she slept in her bag under our seat. Nice refreshing breeze for her in the shade.

Nice ocean side dining. Barebones, plastic wine glasses, small pours. Excellent steamers, friendly, young servers. Good, basic food. Large portions. The salmon siracha sliders were ample and tasty. Potato salad was basic but cool and good. Lazy Man’s lobster was huge. Those who had the lobster stew and clam chowder enjoyed them. No deep fried food on the menu that I recall. Expect a long wait on weekend summer nights if you want to sit outdoors. All in all a fun experience, would go back again on a nice warm evening.

Everything was great here, from the seating and scenery to fresh, delicious seafood and friendly service. I will definitely go back here when I’m at Old Orchard Beach again

I love this place! The location is perfect, right on a pier jutting out over the water. You can’t beat the perfect sunsets and up close views of working lobster boats. Despite this, The Bait Shed is no tourist trap. The portions are generous, the drinks strong, and the prices very reasonable. Of course the menu has lots of lobster. A good way to start is with a plater of cracked claws! Unique and yummy! They also offer boiled whole lobsters from small to large and in combos, rolls, and chowders. If lobsters not your thing, they also have crab, oysters and shrimp on the menu as well. Top this all off with friendly staff and this place is a real winner!

Yummy lobster rolls, crab rolls and clam chowder. The lobster roll wasn’t a whole lobster, but about a quarter pond of chopped up meat with mayo already mixed in. Still damn good though.

Absolutely love this place! We have a cottage on Jones Creek and have been coming to Bailey’s Lobster Pound for years for fresh seafood, steamed lobsters, clam dip and chowder. Now that they have extended the deck overlooking the marsh and added a full service bar and an outdoor restaurant, it is awesome. The service is excellent with very helpful and friendly waitstaff. Not only is there lobster, steamers and chowder but they have added other things to the menu including salads, flatbreads and even St. Louis style ribs. The food is excellent! You can watch the lobster boats coming in and it is a must to get there for the most spectacular sunsets on Pine Point! My only advice is to put on plenty of mosquito repellent if going at dusk. Enjoy

I know I should take pictures of the food here, but I’m gonna see how many pics of my friends and I, that I can post here over the years. The food and menu gets better and better every year. This year’s menu has added flatbreads. Shrimp, crab or lobster flatbreads. Delish. We always order the steamers. They are so clean you do not need broth to rinse them. The mussels are equally as good. Plenty of garlicky broth with arugala. Served with rolls for dipping. One suggestion is that they upgrade the bread. Maybe a grilled baguette? The bar service is friendly. Love you girls! They have added a full bar this year. Good gin and tonics Good job sue and vinnie, you are making all of pine point very happy!

Whenever I have my first trip of the season at the bait shed I just sit back and think to myself, «now this feels like summer.» This is located on the back of the lobster pound and it is truly the best addition to pine point. I like to belly up to the bar and grab and drink and some steamers. Their steamers are so clean they don’t event serve them with broth — just butter. This summer the bait shed is seating people at the picnic tables instead of their old«seat yourself» ways, but don’t let the line fool you, if you see a seat at the bar grab it and enjoy! My favorites include prosecco, oysters, and steamers. Next time I going to try the«peel and eat shrimp» a new menu item I saw coming out to the deck as I was leaving. Again this place is such a wonderful addition to the pine point neighborhood, give it a try!

My absolute favorite place to hang out at night. Still semi-secret and only well-known to locals; best beer selection and friendliest service in Pine Point. Within walking distance from my house, which helps.

What a hidden gem! On the end of Pine Point, this bar is part of Bayleys lobster pound. The view is awesome while you eat your steamed lobster, and drink your Shipyard. You can sit at the bar or sit out on the pier at a picnic table. Not just for adults, we saw lots of families with little kids. The bar serves hotdogs for those kids who won’t eat steamers! We ate clams, lobster rolls, shrimp rolls, oysters, clam chowder, and steamed lobsters all were cooked beautifully and fresh. The soft doughy rolls used for the sandwiches are delivered fresh everyday from a local bakery. We love this place!
