Haiku

Some places don’t put anything in the rolls but they really fill up the rolls! Atmosphere is nice too but it’s a little dim for my taste.

Our first time trying Haiku and we were pleased: attentive service, a good sushi dinner, and special roll selection. Even my garden salad — ordered separately — was fresh, generous portion with the right amount of dressing.
Sushi rolls were rolled thin and tightly and were better than my last meal in a Bronxville Japanese restaurant. certainly open to going again.

My mom took me to Haiku after a couple hours of dress shopping at Lord & Taylor across the street. It was around lunch time so there weren’t very many people. We were immediately seated and given menus. I ordered the Vietnamese salad and an eel avocado roll, both of which were very good and came in no time. The salad was refreshing and the added crunch from the noodles made it such an interesting dish. My mom ordered the Malaysian curry with chicken and I was lucky enough to take her leftovers home. It was SO good!
Service was great; our waitress was very nice so there were no complaints there. The ambiance was appealing; it definitely looks like the kind of spot that would be great for a romantic date night. The interior, including the bathroom, was very clean, which is always a plus. If I’m ever in the area again I’d definitely stop by to try more of their dishes.

Excellent service and delicious Asian food, especially the sushi! The Vietnamese salad is a must to try!

The food was great and the service was fantastic. But what makes it a five star experience, was the extra attention to detail of the staff for our toddler. They brought out a side plate with fork and knife for me to cut up my son’s food for him on the side (and keep his little hands away from the knife), they brought plasticware and a little plastic bowl for him to use. One thing to note is that they do not have a children’s menu — this was not a problem, for us since our son eats pretty much anything. but may be an issue for others.
Highly recommend and we will be returning!

I find this Haiku to be the best one in Westchester. It’s beautifully decorated and the food is always delicious. I’m impressed by the quality of their sushi and items I’ve had off the regular menu are always tasty. A much better alternative to your average Chinese take out. Their gyoza are delicious as well as their pad thai and sesame chicken. Also like their California rolls. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for the perfect Asian cuisine in the area.

There are a number of Haikus located throughout Westchester county, but don’t associate the multiple locations with lower quality food. I’ve had many enjoyable meals here; the food is tasty and high quality.
This particular location in Scarsdale is located amongst a number of stores in a small shopping center on route 22. The restaurant itself isn’t big but they do a great job with the layout and décor — low lighting, dark woods and warm browns and silvers. Part of the kitchen is open where you can see sushi chefs preparing dishes.
We started with some yasai gyoza (pan fried veggie dumplings) — they were very good, just enough crisp so that you can bite into the dumpling without encountering gummy dough. My go-​to dish at Haiku is pad thai (which they do very well), but tonight I went simple with jumbo shrimp and broccoli in a brown sauce with brown rice on the side. I was really impressed; the shrimp were substantial — big enough that I needed to but them with a knife to make bite-​size pieces. The broccoli was crisp and the sauce was tasty — great dish.
Service was good and the staff was friendly — we were greeted warmly upon entering and exit; I’m sure to be back!

Our family LOVES Haiku! They offer delicious, fresh sushi at great prices! The option for delivery makes it even more convenient for our family, and even our two small children love it! Definitely recommend this restaurant. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating.

Very good food I had the Pa tai and the chicken teriyaki along with the shumai very good you can’t g wrong. The prices here are amazing and the staff is very friendly. This is a nice place for family’s friends or a date

Sushi is fresh, love the mango chicken. Delivery in like 15 minutes to my house. Love that!

Not sure what happened I thought there was a reverse happy hour after 9 30, ½ apps and discount drinks etc, but we were there last night and paid full price.
The food is great and the bar is very cool, but is it possible I mis understood?

This is my second time at this restaurant and the food was delish. I had the hand rolled spicy tuna, California roll and hot sake. Great pairing. While eating I noticed that my cell phone got to 1%. I asked my waiter Tony, if he had a charger and he quickly went to his own personal belongings and found me one. Ate a great meal while my phone charged, all the while thinking he could’ve just said no. Great customer service Haiku. Definitely recommend.

Haiku is okay. The food isn’t anything to write home about, but it is decent. The staff is usually pretty nice, but I sometimes feel as though they are trying to rush you out the door. I would be willing to give them another try.

Came here with the family and we all had a lovely meal. It’s very nice and modern but I must say that it was a bit loud, although expected because it’s a pretty small location. Our waiter was very attentive and charismatic and made some great suggestions. I had the Szechuan spicy chicken dumplings and tasted the pork dumplings my brother got, they were both delicious. The drinks were also very good and last but not least, the sushi was amazing. Will definitely try the White Plains and Bronxville locations soon.

Went here for dinner on a Sunday evening and was surprised to see how busy it was.
Ordered the gyoza and peppercorn squid for appetizers and both were good. I did like how the squid was prepared. Ordered the sashimi deluxe, chicken pad thai, General Tso’s, crispy red snapper and salmon teriyaki. I would all the dishes were good as expected, though I though I understood the salmon was a little dry. I really enjoyed the snapper and the sauce it was prepared in.
I thought the service was good, though a little slow because it was crowded. This is a place I would go back to again.

Every time I have dined here I have not been disappointed. Tonight, I started with the edamame which was just the right temperature with the right amount of salt (a balance many restaurants miss), followed by the Twins Roll (spicy tuna, shrimp tempura, and avocado on the inside and whole crispy soft shell crab on the outside) and the Philadelphia Roll, both with brown rice. Both rolls were excellent and neither was overwhelmed by the rice.
If you enjoy both a fully edible, fried soft shell crab and spicy tuna (like I do), I highly recommend the Twins Roll. Haiku is also the only place I will order Philly rolls anymore, as I have yet to dine someplace else that has achieved what I consider to be the ideal ratio of ingredients for a Philadelphia Roll: about two thirds smoked salmon and one third cream cheese. At Haiku, this is lightly garnished with scallions instead of throwing off the balance with a section of cucumber or avocado.
The only downside is that the table service is slightly disorganized. Our server took our order for Voss sparkling water and then came back and said that there were currently no cold bottles. Also, he was waiting tables in different parts of the restaurant so we eventually had to flag him down for more water. Note also that if you don’t like dining somewhere that is slightly dark and/​or loud, dinner at Haiku is not for you (I’m personally unfazed either way). I have yet to experience what lunch at the restaurant is like.
I have to mention as well that the delivery service, which I have used once, is very prompt. I plan to use it again the next time I want to order in sushi.

I have been here a couple times and I really like it. Good sushi, good price, great drinks. (Better drinks than Fig and Olive across the street, dare I say) Staff is super friendly. Parking. Cool place, who would have thought in a strip mall?

Had a perfectly acceptable meal here. But it showed a place going through the motions.
The sushi/​sashimi combo — at a $ 26 plate, had just salmon, yellowtail and tuna. Nothing more creative you could do? It was fine, though strangely, each sushi tasted a little sweet. Not a bad sweet, but I’m more used to the flavor of the fish standing out a little more.
And the pad thai was just ok. A little too sweet again for my taste.
The dumplings seemed a little too canned, and the chicken satay came with just 2 pieces — kind of a ripoff for the price. The hot & sour soup was a little peppery but overall, solid.
Service was good and they put up with a large party.
Would I come here again? Sure. It was a good neighborhood place — the type you could come again and again without being fearful of the quality.
But you just won’t go «wow» afterwards.

Their lunch specials will make you hearty full. Not full to the point of exploding but comfortably full. Other than your entrée, you have a choice of soup (miso, wonton, sweet+sour soup) OR salad PLUS white or brown rice.
Had the Singaporean pineapple prawn off of their lunch specials. Giant, delicious prawns. Big chunks of pineapple. The side of sweet and sour soup was great and surprisingly well done (sour, spicy, not overly peppery I so often encounter).
Was nearly packed by Friday 1pm with grandmas, families, couples. My question is don’t ya’ll have to work? Was expecting emptiness but I liked it being packed. Was loud enough, no one could overhear each other’s conversation.
Staff is all Asian and curteous. I haven’t seen this many Asians congregated in one place ever in Scarsdale. Well decorated, clean, relaxing atmosphere with top 100 radio hits playing. Big alcoholic drinks menu. Ya’ll need to update your non-​alcoholic drinks menu – bubble tea please! Something other than soda.
Granted this ain’t real Asian food but it’s pretty good and not white washed :)

What a cute restaurant! Very chic — A rarity for restaurants in this area. Great bar with reasonably priced drinks. Unlike other reviewers, my food is usually delivered in a reasonable time.
Love the General Tso’s Chcken and pork dumplings. My favorite Chinese restaurant in the Scarsdale /​Eastchester area.
