Update: Last week, I returned to the store. I wanted another pair. I told the same woman who usually helps me, «I like the fit of the Minimus shoes, but I’d like a bit more padding.» She directed me to the appropriate shoes.
I know, wearing these shoes for all day in the feet retail is not what they are intended for, so I chose not to use the 30-​day guarantee, and keep my Minimus. As recommended, I bought a pair with a similar fit to my not so old shoes, and with more padding. Perfect. Bought another pair of tiki socks!

I’m really surprised. With the amount of styles of shoes that new balance offers, «new balance Chicago» has a very limited selection.
When the salesman asked what I was looking for he told me they didn’t stock it and tried to sell me something I had already said I didn’t want.
I asked the salesman if he could get the shoe I was looking for and again he tried selling me a different shoe they had in stock
I left and 20 minutes later I found the new balance shoe I was looking for elsewhere.

The positive reviews of this place are dated and based on my recent experience, the place may have gone downhill. I did not find the people working there to be all that knowledgeable or helpful. The sizes they had in stock were surprisingly limited. This is not a company store it is privately owned.

Came in to get my son some new shoes for school and they measure them up and did a really good job myself people really know what they’re doing they take the time and seem to really care about the clients that they are helping we are in an out in less than 20 minutes you get what you pay for a little high price but very much worth the dollars it cost. school shoes

I agree that the staff are friendly but something is amiss in New Balance’s ordering process. I went to this store because I had a 15% off coupon. On 7÷30÷2014, the shoes that I wanted were not in stock so they were ordered. On 9÷9÷2014, they arrived in the store, ready for me to pick up. I WAS kept in the loop during this time aside from one idiot who claimed that my shoes had been shipped out to me on August 8th. In future, I’ll go to another full-​service shoe store that carries both New Balance and other brands.

Excellent staff and THE best selection of shoes in wide widths!
My running days are long a thing of the past but I need a 4E width. There are no manufacturers that make a quality walking or light hiker in my width. New Balance has been in the business of making wide width athletic shoes since I was a 20-​something who thought he knew everything and could run a decent 10K.
The Schaumburg staff is as attentive and caring for middle-​age guys like me as they are for the young weekend warriors. My sales associate brought out 6 different pairs of shoes for me to try on to make sure that they comfortably fit my screwed up feet. I really appreciate the service.
Who needs Nike, Addidas & Reebok?! I’m with New Balance and the Schaumburg store all the way!

Desperately in search of a good running shoe for the Warrior Dash and associated training and looking for a place where people actually know about running shoes, I stumbled on the New Balance store while on my way to Woodfield. Just what the doctor ordered!
After a quick 5 minute conversation with the fella who works there about what my goals are and what types of terrain I’ll be covering, he had 3 different options that would fit the bill. I tried all three on and even took them for a spin on their treadmill. I ended up settling on a pair of Trail Minimus and after putting 10 or so miles on them, I’m super stoked with the choice. The salesman even said that if I have issues or discomfort before the race, come back in and they’ll take care of it. Excellent!

Fantastic staff!!! Always incredibaly helpful. I bought a pair of shoes from them and didn’t keep the receipt or box and without question let me exchange them for a pair better suited for me. I wear the new trail shoes from new balance and my running shoes are a different brand but next time I need a new pair I will be using new balance just because I appreciate how great there customer service is.

What a great location for a New Balance store, away from the hustle and bustle of the mall! Jon, the general manager, and his staff are awesome and will help get you fitted into the right shoe. This is a brand new store with some neat stuff and will only get better!
