Rosati’s Pizza

Old Location — now an Indo-​Pak restaurant.
Same phone for new location to the East about 1.4mi. But new location is CARRY OUT /​DELIVERY only (on North side of HIGGINS East of Roselle).

When we entered at dinner hour, midweek, this establishment (historically the first area Rosati’s) was completely empty. When we left, there were three occupied tables.
Our greeter/​waitress was less than enthusiastic throughout our visit. We had a few overly long waits for service, despite the presence of a second waitress on duty.
The buffet pizzas had been sitting out for a while and were unappetizingly dried out by the heat lamps. The pizza choices were cheese, sausage, pepperoni, veggie, and bacon, all of which were mediocre, even when fresh ones were brought out. Frozen pizza prepared at home is comparable or better.
The minestrone soup was OK (same as canned), while the cream of chicken (?) soup looked somewhat watery and remained untried.
The salad bar was… better than nothing.
Of the 2 dessert choices, (one of which was brought out when we were ready to leave) it was necessary to maneuver the serving spoon away from the bits of salad bar cheese that had fallen into the chocolate pudding.
Now for the bad parts:
Aside from the chipped and dirty walls, in the corner of our dining room was an unscreened counter area piled high with dirty dishes and utensils, completely unattended, for possibly a day or two or three… Immediately in front of the counter was a stained area of carpeting that only a hoarder could compete with.
Last but not least, as we ate and conversed, we each kept swishing away what seemed to be one persistent, pesky fly. But then I noticed all the other flies, most favoring the window area, some dead on the sill, while others ventured out to share their time with us, the dirty dishes, the carpeting, the buffet, and other guests. I did not mention this discovery to my dinner mates, nor to the waitress, since my impression was that she probably wouldn’t mention it to the (absent?) management either.
