Sizzling Wok

Tried calling this place multiple times to place an order during their regular business hours and nobody picked up. Even waited an hour and then two hours after we originally had called and received no answer. :(I was excited to try it.

I like the veggie noodles but everytime i ask for tofu in it when i order carryout they forget to add it. Its pretty annoying.
Other than that its good. It would be a good carryout place if they got my order correct and not charge me for it since they forgot to add it.

I’m kind of a boring when it comes to ordering chinese food. I like sides. My go to meal is usually of potstickers & beef fried rice. I haven’t yet found my holy grail of these in the schaumburg area.
Potstickers — these were super tiny, but there were a decent number and had good flavor. I prefer larger potstickers with chewier dough that is still has a bit of the crunchy fried texture on the outside.
Beef fried rice — The beef in this was really nice, very tender, and there was a good amount of kick to it. The veg included were carrots and sprouts. I would have preferred green onion to carrots, the sweetness is a bit odd to me.
Egg rolls — these were good. Crunchy, flavorful.
Waitstaff were fantastic.
Everything tasted fresh and was high quality. I’ll ask next time if I can have onions instead of carrots in the fried rice, might be my go to chinese spot.

The food was great, and when they say extra spicy they really do mean it. What really impressed me was the woman that works there. You can tell that she is incredibly hard working, and she is without a doubt one of the sweetest people I’ve had the pleasure of working with for takeout. I gave her a pretty good tip, and she even called me and thanked me when she got back from delivering my food. I will absolutely be going back.

Hidden treasure! the fired noodle is very authentic and yum. Their homemade sweet sour sauce is a must try.

Yum, yum, yummy! We order every week. The owner is there all the time and remembers everything you like. Hard working, great food. Have to try the crab ragoons (her home made sauce is amazing) … A must try! #crabragoons, Kung beef, egg foo young. Emerging is amazing!

This is your typical little Chinese restaurant that is primarily for take out. The woman working was incredibly sweet! The food was delicious and the egg rolls were the best I’ve ever had! I’m just sad that I haven’t tried Sizzling Wok sooner!

Just tried this place for the first time. Great food! Good egg rolls, great pot stickers (thin wonton, small but a lot of them), excellent BBQ pork fried rice and the Mongolian beef was delicious. Place your order online and go pick it up! The lady inside is nice too!

So far this is my favorite take out place for Chinese food. Tried many lunch combos and they were all good. My favorite is beef lo main. The owner is always pleasant and remembers returning customers. I highly recommend it.

This place has THE BEST egg rolls! Seriously, they are amazing! And they also have the most friendly, delightful staff. I’ve never been to their actual store, I just order online. No matter how busy, they always find time to squeeze my delivery in, and they delivery guy/​gal is always so pleasant– I just love this place :)

I used to live right around the corner from this place and would order weekly. It was to the point that the owner knew my voice and my order when I called. It’s a hole in the wall and most suited for take out. The food is delicious and reasonably priced and I’m pretty particular about both. The chow main and fried rice had the great wok flavoring and the wonton soup had large wontons and tons of veggies in it. The downside is that a friend once asked to use the restroom there and was escorted to the restroom behind the counter so it was safe to assume that it is the same one the employees use. Went to wash hands and there was no soap… sick and a bummer.

This is probably the best Chinese food in Schaumburg. It’s a small hole in the wall that makes great classic and mainland dishes.

This is a great little Chinese food place. The quality of the food is really good, everything always tastes great and the owners are super friendly. I drive out of my way about 20 minutes to eat here and it’s always worth it. It’s not much of a sit down place because I think there’s only 2 – 3 tables, but for take out, it’s great.

This is a great little mom and pop, hole-​in-​the-​wall Chinese place. There is a great variety on the menu and what I’ve had has been great. I keep going back for the vegetable egg foo young. Don’t expect fashionable décor or even many places to sit down. You generally just want to order for take-​out. If you come to eat in, calling ahead is good, too, since they make everything to order.

We just order from Sizzling Wok, the food was insipid, the chicken chewy, the duck sauce tasted like marmalade, sooo sweet, totally disappointed overall. After finishing dinner four of us are suffering of a intense stomach ache.

Huffington Post has been talking smack about us Unilocalers using 5 stars when its a hole-​in-​the-​wall. Here I am doing just that. Shows what I think about the validity of the writers at Huffington Post! I was talking about Egg Foo Young with a fellow Chicago ex-​pat here In LA. It started me thinking about this restaurant, which was my favorite little hole-​in-​the-​wall. This and Yu’s Mandarin are my favorites! It only has a small handful of tables, but they do their best to provide you with good service. It takes a while to get your food ready, as they prepare your food fresh for you. None of that sitting in a warming tray crap. Remember the old Chinese saying «better a man wait for his meal, than the meal wait for the man». This place had the best in old school Chinese food. Sure they got Sweet & Sour Chicken (shifts uncomfortably in chair) if you’re so inclined (I guess some people still think Panda Express is real Chinese food). It would be wise to order something GOOD though. Here, let me guide you. Thanks to «the​menudrawer​.com» I found a menu to help find the good things I’ve had there.
531 Lets start with the egg foo young. IMO is the best I’ve had, anywhere. Its not on the menu, but I ask them to make it combination with all the meats. Pay the extra money for it. Its not much, but its worth it. Also, order the large sizes as you get a huge bonus for the price.
332 Two Delights in Garlic Sauce. Shrimp & Scallops. Need I say more? I ask for it hot. I pay extra for more seafood. Its nice that you can tell them how much you want. Like a dollar more for a few more pieces or three dollars more for a handful more.
Their lunch specials are a great deal at less than $ 6. There are things that are not on the menu. They have a board up with their extra specials. Chicken with black bean sauce is awesome. The beef, tomato & green pepper is so good also. I’ve had a lot of other things, but I consider these the things I listed as the best. Now for the piece de resistance. GET THE EGG ROLL! Make sure you get the apricot sauce to go with eat. Eat it and tell me that’s not the best egg roll (and sauce) you’ve ever had. Go ahead. I dare you. The egg rolls themselves are worth the ride out there.

Sizzling Wok is probably one of the better Chinese cuisine spots in the Schaumburg area. It’s a small place stuck in a corner with great food.
If you are an impatient person, I would not recommend it. I don’t mind waiting for good food.
I love their crab Rangoon. Its made with real crab meat, and served with and orange dipping sauce. Plus you don’t get ripped off when it comes to the size. I hate it when you order crab Rangoon and it can be eaten in one bite. This is definitely not the case.
The proportions are huge. You could split a regular order between two people, but I like to order just for me and have left-​overs.
The hot and sour soup is savory too!

Just tried to order lunch for pick up. It took me 10 min to order Mongolian Beef only because she did‘t understand my question «What kind of lunch specials do you have with chicken?». Food is ok, nothing special. I‘m not going to waste my time and order anything from them next time.

Sizzling Wok is a go-​to lunch spot for me. It is a simple Chinese carry-​out joint with 4 tables if you want to stay and eat. This is a family run business and the people there counldn’t be nicer. They greet you warmly, tend to remember folks, and seem to take pride in their business.
The food is cooked to order, so it’s not the quickest. During the rush, you can expect to wait 15 minutes for your order. However, you can phone or fax your order in and they are great about having everything ready. They also have lunchtime delivery around Schaumburg — a huge plus.
They have a huge variety of lunch specials that offer a huge amount of food for $ 7 even. Most include an entrée, steamed or fried rice, an egg roll, and a fortune cookie.
The Egg Roll is pretty dull, but I like fried things and it is indeed fried. It’s also fairly big. The cookie is the typical cookie in cello at a chinese take-​out place cookie.
The entrees are pretty good. When you ask for things to be spicy, they do a good job of adding the kick. I’m a big fan of Chinese BBQ pork, and the cha-​siu they use is decent. Their fried rice is a bit bland, but not overly oily. I’ll usually get a dish with some sauce or gravy and add that to the rice. Works fine.
The veggies in their dishes are fresh, plentiful, and not over cooked. I like the twice cooked pork, pork egg foo young, pork lo-​mein (their lo-​mein uses cantonese style egg noodles and not spaghetti, a huge plus to me), broccoli beef (hey, that’s not pork!), and Mongolian beef.
They have a lot of misc stuff for sale as well, so if you have a curious 5 year old to visit, there’s a good chance you’ll find an amusing little trinket or candy item to curry their favor.
Price, decent quality, and friendly folks at the counter make for a regular spot on my lunch rotation. Maybe I’ll see you there…
