Donuts. Extensive variety of donuts, some you expect and some you don’t. Owner is very friendly and helpful.

The three home runs are the blueberry, red velvet, and the apple fritters… But there are definitely others that are tasty as well. What’s great is you can pickup a dozen and I honestly think they could charge more, but the donuts stay good even till the next day. Whenever the sweet tooth kicks in… Donut drop is my number one place to drop in.

Donut drop is pretty snazzy! I swear I posted a review for this place but it apparently has now disappeared. Donut drop is a tiny little bakery that accordingly has a tiny selection. I mean this place is not altogether that much bigger(front end) than someone’s living room. Everyone is super nice and this place is a great pickup for donuts for the day, but I can’t imagine that end of day you’re going to get the best donuts. It’s like working at a bagel shop — all the good stuff is in the morning, not the afternoon. Fritter here may not be the *best* fritter in the world, but it’s pretty good and enormous. I’ve seen big fritters, but this was really big. Overall: great donut shop to pick up a dozen before work, some non-standard flavors make that a big plus — I hate the«chocolate or coconut or plain» options that you’d get a dunkin donuts. Thankfully, there is a bit more variety(and quality) here.

12.7 miles is not the longest distance that I have travelled for an apple fritter, but it is likely in the top 5. The fritter itself does not land in the top 5, but probably in the top 10. It was solidly all-around good, a classic version. The only tweaks that I would make are more cinnamon and less sugar. Besides the apple fritter, both yeast-raised and cake doughnuts here are very nice. Cake is hard to pull off, but they do it very well. Service here is warm and conscientious. For example, I ordered three doughnuts, one of which was a boston crème but I mentioned it second. The clerk, with the third doughnut in her tongs, realized that she couldn’t fit it in the bag without the boston crème rubbing chocolate icing on it. So she removed the first two doughnuts and then positioned them all carefully inside the bag so that the chocolate icing was facing out and the other items were safe from chocolate contamination. All of this took place wordlessly. Believe me, that kind of thinking is right up my alley. I would never ask someone to rearrange my doughnuts to keep the chocolate icing off of the apple fritter… but I sure am glad that she did! I also overheard another clerk encouraging a customer to join their rewards program, and offering to reopen his just-completed transaction in the computer so that he could apply that purchase towards the rewards. Nice.

Outstanding donuts! The yeast risen type are extremely soft, moist and airy. Cake types have an awesome flavor and great texture. Excellent glaze and toppings… Made fresh and with care. Great service and very friendly owners. good cup of coffee too. Best donut in the area — hands down! Enjoy!

Best donuts in town. Great customer service and super fresh donuts. When I ordered a dozen today I actually watched them fill my jelly donuts right in front of me.

Very, very solid donut. Good variety. Fresh. Super friendly staff. Coffee is actually pretty good(someone on Unilocal didn’t like it — I am a bit of a coffee snob and usually burr grind/pour-over brew my own, and I thought it was more than acceptable). Priced appropriately. Can’t wait to go there again. If you haven’t been … do! BTW, I guess they«drop» their donuts, and they are not normal shaped. Except for the yeast ring — which was really good as well. The red velvet(if you like red velvet) was really good. The blueberry was fabulous. In fact, they were all nummy, although the double chocolate fell apart a bit. That was nummy in bits.

This is definitely one of the best donuts I’ve ever had. Deserves a full 5 star rating. Donuts were fresh even at 2 pm. I had a Chocolate buttermilk cake donut which was sooo good I almost cried. Soft from inside, crispy outside. Also had a Crunch vanilla cake donut which had an amazing crisp taste to it as well with just the right amount of sweetness. Great quality too. Place was cute, clean and smelled awesome, dessertsy. Even though it’s 40 miles away from where I live, I wouldn’t mind driving just for one donut. Saliva all over my phone right now.

This place is fantastic!!! I am SO sick of bad donuts like Dunkin Donuts and recently drove past this place as it’s close to where i live. It is absolutely wonderful. The donuts are the BESTBESTBEST. SO good!!! I love the coffee, too. Best part– they actually deliver!!! Definitely give this place a try. Seems like they just changed their hours to be open on Sundays which is great. You are foolish if you don’t try the red velvet cake donut. Amazing.

found this place via Unilocal and since they’re up the street from me, decided to give them a try. went there during the week about noon. they seemed to be out of a couple of things by that time of day and i have to say, the variety seemed a little limited, regardless. i asked if they had lemon or strawberry filled donuts(my faves) but they only carried raspberry. she said they might carry lemon and strawberry in the future. bummer. i got a pink glazed and a few variations of chocolate and chocolate frosted. i will say the quality was good and the prices were competitive with my fave donut place(spunky dunkers) but because of the lack of variety and the limited hrs(not open til 6am… and i think 8am on sat and closed sundays– spunky dunkers is 24⁄7), i have to knock off a couple of stars. i probably won’t be back anytime soon until they get strawberry and lemon filled donuts and who knows when that will be. but like i said, what i did try seemed to be of good quality. they just need more variety and probably better hrs. i guess get there early in the day before they run out of what they do carry.

Apparently my sister bought me a donut from here before but I clearly didn’t remember. Over the weekend someone brought donuts from here to the crossfit competition I was at. I didn’t have any but it was nice finding out that there was a new(ish) donut shop in the area. I decided to come back and pick up donuts a couple days later for a work meeting. The donut shop is in a strip mall at the corner of Algonquin and Hammond in Schaumburg. My coworkers and I loved the donuts! I’m so happy to have found such a good place so close to my office!

Fluffy, light, just enough sweetness, just the right price. How donuts should be. A small shop just under a year old. Friendly service, and they got board games to just chill.

I am capable of sometimes paying more than I should for fancy donuts.Guilty. Now that I have donut drop on the way to school, I have quality and affordable donuts that I can enjoy. They are so fresh! There are always a few fun specialty options in addition to the classic flavors. How is there not a line outside the door every day??? I hope donut drop becomes the next donut phenomenon.

This is a nice little independent donut shop, with a down to earth and homey feel. They have a great selection, and while I keep reading that people are upset the kinds aren’t labeled, the person who waits on you can fill you in on all the delicious kinds! I love cake donuts, and theirs are delicious. Not greasy or dry, with the perfect amount of icing.

Favorite for donuts. The girls always. get a red velvet variety. The apple fritters are BIG, like they should. Tucked in the strip mall behind Top Phở east of the McDonalds, so keep an eye open.

A donut shop less than 10 minutes away from my office? Yes please! I «dropped» in to Donut Drop earlier this week to grab a donut and coffee since I was craving something sweet. I was able to snag their last bacon donut(score!) and my friend chose his signature red velvet donut and one more which I can’t recall. The people working there were very friendly and the atmosphere of the shop seems like a good study/work environment as well as a place to catch up with friends. The only thing that was lacking was the lack of labeling for the donuts. I had no idea what anything was so it was a relief when the guy working there mentioned that they had one bacon donut left and that made the choice easy. Bacon + donut? Why of course I must have that. I ate my bacon donut for dinner, yes dinner, and it was glorious!(It was well deserved after a long workout at the gym and just what I needed to refuel). The donut was deliciously fresh! It was soft and chewy yet somewhat dense, covered with frosting and topped with a large piece of bacon. The sweet and savory flavors complement each other well and if you’re skeptical of bacon on a donut, don’t be. I highly recommend trying it. My friend ate both of his donuts before the day was over so I can only assume he enjoyed them! Stop by donut drop for some fresh donuts in the suburbs but pass on the coffee.

Unfortunately, as others have mentioned — the donuts aren’t labeled so it is a little difficult to provide captions after the fact. The good news it that every donut I’ve tried is good, so you’re really not taking much of a risk with anything you try. I like how everything here is kept simple — just clear divisions between cake donuts and yeast donuts. Each with a clear theme and great textures that match their respective categories. The donuts are a bit on the pricier side(in-line with Spunky Dunkers), but the quality justifies a slightly higher price(if you look at the satisfaction value per dollar, this is in fact cheaper than some other chain donut shops). Other than no labeling, the only other major flaw is that there is some inconsistency in the size and sometimes shape of each donut. But both of these issues are not big enough to detract from the fact that they make great donuts here. Definitely give this place a visit if you’re around the area(they’re only open 8 am — 2 pm on weekends and only till 4 pm on weekdays so you may have to wake up a little early one of these mornings). You’ll definitely taste the freshness and extra care put into these smaller batches of donuts.

I hate to be the party pooper on this love parade, but I think Donut Drop could step it up a little. I was so excited when I saw all the pictures of all the awesome donuts on Unilocal. When I came in, there was barely anything left. I don’t completely fault them for that since they close at 3 and I came in at 1. I ended up getting 2 donuts — 1 jelly filled, and one mint chocolate. When I first bit into the jelly filled, there wasn’t any jelly. It was only in half of the donut. The mint chocolate did not taste like mint at all. I didn’t really taste like chocolate either. Just a bland cake donut. They also need to label their selection. I had no idea what anything was. The staff is very nice, and the inside is quaint. There are board games to play and plenty of places to sit and hang out. The prices are great too. I want them to do well, but there need to be some improvements.
