THE worst Stewart’s I’ve ever been in and, of course, it HAS to be the one a block away from my home. Never more than one employee working a register at any given time, the brain-dead help must do double duty serving ice cream AND working a register nine times out of ten. All the while a second employee hides in the back. And just when I get to the front of the line in which I’ve spent twenty minutes standing while everyone ahead of me got ice cream, when all I wanted was to pay for a quart of milk, the employee jerking off in the back room finally emerges and opens the second register. Everyone who had just walked in runs over to that register and gets served immediately, and I still persevere in the line I’m in. And don’t even think about going there during the noon lunch break, since the two doddering old ladies working then will keep you standing there until they’re done with their conversation. Warning to my fellows: If you see more than three cars in the lot, keep going!

I bounce between this Stewarts and the one on Upper Union quite a lot. This is a good Stewart’s to get in quickly, find what you need and get out. They are pretty friendly and helpful here. You won’t wait long in line. And…what can I say… I’m a sucker for Stewarts ice cream. I think they have some of the best ice cream in the world. No really… they do. I also like their chili and breakfast sandwiches. Everything seems pretty fresh at this one. The location and clientele can be a little rough around the edges. Makes things interesting. One night I was in there getting ice cream… my favorite… Death By Chocolate. I got to talking to one of the staff about how much I love Stewart’s ice cream. She laughed and didn’t believe me. She told me I should go to shop rite because they have the best ice cream… better than Stewart’s. I told her she must be high… and I think she was. Haha. Anyway go there, get your favorite items we all love at Stewarts and have a colorful time while doing it. Only at Stewart’s…on Nott Street.
