The problem is very simple, it’s a laundromat on upper Union Street in Schenectady, NY. The majority of people in this neighborhood have washing machines so unless you are a local college student or traveling(such as myself), the need for the laundromat is non-existent. The price is actually high, $ 2.00 for a small load washer? Am I subsidizing the owner’s failing food ventures? The day I was here, the change machine was out of order. The machines take quarters but the change machine was out of order. Maybe consider a smart card system if you don’t want to add quarters to the machine. Thankfully the neighbor businesses provided change, otherwise, you were SOL. There was a lot of garbage on the floor, even the folding tables were dirty. No restroom. One sink at back. The only other laundromat was apparently towards downtown Albany. You are stuck. I guess that is why there is no attempt to lower prices or maintain the facility. My recommendation, take your dirty clothes home with you or throw them out and buy some clean t-shirts /boxers at Target.
