three years ago their food and service was great. Until recently I placed three separate delivery orders. and all three times in a row was a disaster. Wrong food. wrong items. flavor hasn’t been the same. Missing items from order. So after three screw up in a row I am now ordering from other more reliable restaurants.

There are times when you just want a quick meal but not necessarily fast food. Chinese food can often be the answer to those prayers. However, Golden House was so busy when we where there it took fifteen minutes to get our take-out food. That seemed a really long time for such a common meal as chicken and broccoli. They subbed without fuss the fried rice for steamed and pork egg roll for a veggie one in my combo meal. They had many, many unusual dishes like asparagus shrimp or Hunan duck. I was impressed that the delivery driver would leave and return and turn around and leave. Business was constant and there was a line. I liked that it was clean and prices were low. Real plants were a great change to the often bare dining area of Chinese American restaurants. Our food was a tad salty but very tasty. No Styrofoam. Yay Next time I will either not go at dinner time… or call for delivery!

Ordered take out: General Taos, chicken lo mein, pork fried rice, and pork egg rolls. The General Taos was crispy, sauce was good, and had some tasty veggies, and mini corn. The pork fried rice and lo mein were both very good. The fried rice was not yellow, which I like. The egg rolls could have been bigger but still decent. The order took 15 minutes and was ready for pick upon arrival. Overall a very good Chinese take out experience. I would recommend

Some seriously good Chinese Food! Shrimp Lo Mein was phenomenal! My Hubby’s general Tsao had great flavor! Dinner for 2 for less than $ 20! This place is right on Union, clean place had seating but we had takeout. They should have an older person running the front and handling payments, the little Indian boy must’ve been 13, maybe 14 years old. Great food! Delivery is only $ 1.00 but they mentioned it would take 45 minutes vs 15 minutes so I went in! I highly recommend this place for yummy Chinese cravings.

I love the general tso’s /sesame chicken here. It’s crispy, and the sauce is sweet and thick. If only their hot and sour soup was better(it’s okay).

Occasionally the owner’s teenage child works the front counter. This employee seems bothered by the interruption of an order, mumbles the price, has never said thank you and seems anxious to get back to what is on the computer or mobile phone screen. This young person is not doing justice to the good food prepared by the adults.

This Chinese restaurant is better than most of the Chinese restaurants in the area. The customer service is great. The race was not greasy. They made a mistake on my order and we made it with no problem.

We’ve been getting takeout here for years and love it… especially Sesame Chicken and Beef with Broccoli. Also the Teriyaki Beef on a stick.

Perfect case of bait and switch… about 3 months ago we had placed a rather large order and got quite a variety of things to try(in the market for a new chinese restaurant). The tangerine beef was out of this world(crispy sweet tender) — the wonton soup, the rangoons, the eggrolls were all very good… Spareribs — NOT so much(both bone in and boneless) Every order we have placed since has left so much to be desired. The next order of tangerine beef was rubbery and apparently cooked with a fish sauce which is so powerfully overwhelming we could not eat it(I despise fish). We had talked to someone the next time before we placed a third order of it and I though she knew what I meant — apparently she didn’t, we got an order with very little sauce which still tasted like the bottom of a fishing boat! On valentines day a girl answered that was very fluent in english and so had I asked her again about the fishy tasting beef — she said she knew they made it with fish sauce and was not sure if all the beef is marinated in it already or not, so we decided to play it safe and go with the General Tso’s — this was the final straw — teeny tiny pieces of pre-breaded chicken in a wet watery sauce with undercooked veggies, lots of heat, and absolutely no General Tso’s type qualities(sweet/spicy sticky). The boneless ribs were unseasoned and like jerky — inedible, the rangoons were blah, the wonton soup actually smelled and tasted like vinegar(inedible). This place has the audacity to put on the front of their menu«The Best Chinese Food In The Capital District» — Ummm… according to??? The search continues. Back to Sun Fung for now… Another $ 30+ wasted… had to call and order a pizza for supper instead. Pathetic!

The best Chinese food north of NYC. Fast service, fair prices.
