Decent food for a decent price. Also, a decent selection and they have crab legs! Soda is only $ 1.50, haven’t seen that price in awhile. They have sushi and a hibachi station. Staff is not all that friendly, but the price and selection makes up for it.

All you can eat! Stopped here with a friend for the lunch buffet with a price of about $ 6 you can’t go wrong. The selection was decent and some of the stuff is tasty and some aren’t. This joint is owned by fujianese people.

Waitress had the nerve to say«your not going to tip me?» As soon as I got the receipt get to sign” my thing was I was doing cash but since she couldn’t wait I said forget that I’m not giving any. At least the food was decent. Horrible service !

This place used to be the best bang for your buck but in the past year or so there has been a big decline in the variety of food available. What makes it worse for me and my husband is that we do not eat seafood — we would come for the peanut chicken, the barbecue ribs and their Pork roast that was fall apart tender and amazing. They still do make the chicken but they do not make anything with pork and pepper steak is the only dish that is not seafood or chicken. I am a fan of their chicken(Gen Tso’s, Terriaki, Sweet & Sour, Peanut, Fried) but it gets old. I can see the value for those who eat seafood especially sushi — but I would rather go to a different Chinese buffet and spend my money on something other than chicken that I can eat. I wish they would bring back the pork — the beef roast they make now is inedible and nobody touches it so it just sits there — they probably think they are saving money when they are just losing customers.

Meeehh. where do i start?! Went here with my mom and baby for the first time today for lunch, not even a hi or hello from the receptionist, but Im glad she gave us a booth because of the carseat. food is ok, warm but lacking in flavor. large selection but not special, place is clean and buffet tables are kept tidy. Service could be better. I have been to capital buffet at wolf rd, dragon buffet in central ave many times(there’s not a lot around here anyway). i still like dragon buffet the most. i feel they are more courteous to non-asian customers too, prices are cheap, but we won’t be back.

Went with my wife last night. I personally think this place is great. They have a good variety and the food is good. However have noticed that the prices have been going up. Also, they used to have sliced ham, which I have not seen in awhile. Refills are free with the fountain drinks. My favorites are the pepper steak and sliced chicken breast with vegetables, and the mushrooms with pepper and onions. Their soft serve ice cream is also very good considering.

Within the class of the all-you-can-eat buffet, significantly better than average. Cleaner than most buffets we’ve visited, with less in the way of sad steam table wilting and seemingly more attention to keeping things fresh, neat, and orderly. The food is mostly Americanized Chinese with smatterings of classic fish fry, standard American(fries and wings and so forth), and a small selection of things from other Americanized cuisines. For AmChi, though, the dishes were as good as most dedicated takeout places, and things like actual crispy green beans(as opposed to wilted brown stalks that have been sitting out too long) were a welcome surprise. Downgrades: the«salad» bar only had lettuce for its greens option(no spinach, etc.) and that lettuce was sad yellow iceberg. The sushi was fine, considering, but there was basically only one kind of fish-based sushi near as I could tell(farmed salmon). And the pizza was not good: sort of Chuck E. Cheese-level, such that even the kids weren’t too thrilled about it. However, the jello cubes and soft ice cream machine seems to have soothed them. The service for dish removals and drink refills was very prompt and timely. I will be frank and say that seeking out the buffet is not the first thing I’d do with my food dollars but sometimes just getting a selection of hot food fast is the only thing that will do with the kids, and not having to discuss who is eating what that night is a big plus. So I’m glad the option is there and United is better than the other buffets we’ve tried in the area. FWIW.

A wide variety of food choices. No one should go away hungry. Reasonably priced. Clean atmosphere and friendly wait staff.

This buffet use to be good when it opened a few years ago, but it has gone way downhill. The night i went the restaurant was about half full. Most dishes were barely warm and looked like they had been sitting for quite some time. i got a plate of the hibachi with noodles, shrimp, and vegetables and the shrimp were beyond edible, they had a gritty texture like they were filled with sand and i noticed that they do not take the vein out of the shrimp which pretty much means your eating a really nasty part of the shrimp. The waitress got and attitude when she picked up the plate of shrimp and gave me a dirty look like i was just supposed to eat them. Also i go some of their fruit salad that was mixed with a sweet dressing and mini marshmallows and noticed it was mounded with marshmallows and barely any fruit, i thought this was strange as it normally looks very good. I now know why it was mounded with so many marshmallows, when i bit into the fruit it was clearly evident that it had gone bad and they were just trying to cover up the bad fruit with marshmallows thinking no one will notice(or taste it). This buffet use to be a value with good fresh tasting food, but now with rotten food and inedible shrimp this buffet is no longer a value.

The ‘waitress’ had a terrible attitude as did the Hibachi woman. Food was subpar and dishes were dirty. Not going there again.

The hibachi grill is really, really good! The hibachi is set off to the far side of the restaurant, make sure you don’t miss it!

Now how do you review a chinese buffet? I guess based on variety and how fresh is the only way. Even though they all are almost to me the same. The food was good, turnover was quick and service was good. Not clean(healthy) food and as fresh as other couple places I have been to which merits the 3 stars.

Honestly, there were much better buffets around Schenectady but they are sadly closing down. This place is not great but not bad. Kind of on the more expensive side. They don’t have so much of a selection. The hibachi is good though. Sadly the desserts are nothing more then store bought cookies and some fruit

Hot Food, decent prices, nice variety, cheap lunch specials. Has better wings than most wing places i’ve been to so sometimes i go there just for them and do carry out. Try the chinese donuts — addicting!!!

One of the better Chinese buffets in capital region. Staff is friendly and polite. They allow you space and privacy, they don’t hound you. If you are looking for good food at a low price, come here.

The usual Chinese buffet. Wide selection of hot foods, salad bar, dessert bar, sushi station and hibachi. It’s actually a decent place. The waitresses are pretty attentive though sometimes there is a language barrier.

My friend and I had lunch at United Buffet very recently. This buffet used to be an Old Country Buffet(closest location is in Pittsfield MA). The place has plenty of seating including booths and tables and there are also flatscreeen TVs in the dining areas. For the area, this buffet has an impressive selection of food choices offering Chinese, American, Italian, and Japanese dishes including fried foods(fries, crab rangoons, spring rolls, egg rolls, chicken fingers & nuggets, fried vegetables), stuffed mushrooms, egg foo young, dumplings, chicken teriyakis, lomein, rice, soups, salad bar, seafood(shrimp cocktail, stuffed shrimp, fish, calamari, crab legs(dinner)), mac & cheese, spinach & cheese, pizza slices(kept in heated case), sushi(very limited selection), hibachi/BBQ grill, desserts(soft serve ice cream, cookies, cake, petit fours, pie tarts, jello, fruits), and more. They also had breakfast out on the buffet(scrambled eggs, bacon, & French toast). The food we had was tasty and very filling. We each enjoyed three plates of food before calling it quits and being stuffed and skipping dessert. Too many choices here, a good thing! The service was attentive, as the staff were very anxious to clear our used plates often and Diet Cokes refilled. However, when I went over to the hibachi grill area to select my raw ingredients to be cooked, there was no cook present(at the grill and I waited for about 3 minutes and still no cook showed up. I ended up taking my plate of ingredients back to my table and waited until the cook returned to the grill, 10 minutes later. BUFFETPRICES in 2011(Adult): Lunch(Mon-Sat): $ 7.29; Dinner: $ 10.99(Sun-Thu), $ 11.99(Fri-Sat). Soda is $ 0.80 and beer is also served here too!
