Wow! Talk about a hole in the wall. This is truly hidden away with a tattered old sign catty corner to the old spot where Abel’s diner used to be. Looking at it would remind you of countless little shops you’d stop at on a road trip to send a postcard to grandma. Upon walking in, one can’t help but feel like you’re walking into an elderly person’s home that has been remodeled to serve ice cream, baked goods and all sorts of chocolate goodies. This is definitely a place that is less appealing to the eye and more tempting after that first visit. I can remember like yesterday taking that first bite of their butter bars(I think they’re called) and my goodness was it goooood. It was velvety soft, had a mildly sweet scent and was not overly sweet which was much appreciated. The fudge sample I tried was one of my faves but hardly competition compared to some I bought in San Francisco. The ice cream is relatively inexpensive for the kids size but they seem to make up for it with the adult size. It’s worth every penny though as it’s all homemade and fresh as hell. I tried the salted caramel ice cream and it was divine. The older woman working there was like that sweet old lady everyone knows and loves and she was tempting me to buy more of her sweets. Haha. Old lady 1, Me 0. The service was quick and friendly and she was nice to my son so of course I’ll have to bring him back soon. I’ve been coming here on and off for years and in all that time, the quality has been maintained and that in itself is a testament to this little boutique sweet shop in the middle of an otherwise plain and boring strip. See you soon Bonnie!

Pretty cool little building off of i-35 in Schertz. They are located next to Abels diner off exit 3009 Natural Bridge Caverns Road. This may look like a tourist trap, but these ladies are serious candy makers. They sound like they’re from England. They ship worldwide; they specialize in pecan candies, fudge, pralines, and a host of other sweet goodies. They have pepper jelly and all sorts of jarred concoctions. Highly recommend them. Update: 8 – 2015 This place is a wonderment of treats and sweets. The whole lot including Abel’s diner has been sold to a developer and everyone is vacating including Bonnie’s. Although, they will be here for a couple of months and may or may not find a new location. They may be internet only, as they have a worldwide following. Today, I was craving some homemade ice cream. They have 15 flavors and I chose chocolate chip mint, which was green. It was so rich and creamy, that it required a third lactaid pill. Seriously, I only need two pills for a 16oz glass of milk. It tasted just like Hagen Daz. A little 4 oz scoop was $ 3.25 but was defiantly worth it. You will be a kid in a candy store here. If you are passing Schertz, you need to come get anything here out of the hundreds of pastries. Your sweet tooth will thank these ladies.

Whether it’s bbq or candy you can smell a great place as soon as you walk in, and this intoxicating place is no different. I’ve loved this place since i was a tot and go for everything, especially the caramel pecan log, amaretto peach waffle cone, and the satisfying crunch of fresh toffee! They don’t get as much business i think because they need a remodel, an easier sign to see from the highway, and some marketing, at least social media. Nobody knows they are there.

A very angry lady with possibly British accent behind the counter. I watched as my friend ordered, and was paying. The British accent lady was actually glaring at her. I bought a few sugar free chocolates, the woman’s lip was quivering and her voice tight with irritation. I used to take out of town visitors to this little local place. I won’t be doing that again. Lots of other hopefully friendlier places.

This is some little old lady’s pet project. It has a county theme store with some seriously amazing candies and confessions. Honesty, I bout about 50 pralines to take home for me for the year. it is worth the visit.

This place is so fun, cute and tasty. I gave it four out of five though because I do think some of their items are a bit too pricey and I haven’t always had the best service. I don’t know if it was an accident or not, but for a single malt I was charged $ 8… that just seemed absurd to me… but anyways I still like the place over all and will definitely be back… I just won’t ever buy a $ 8 malt there again!

Small MA and PA Shoppe. All items made in small batches with LOVE and quality ingredients. They offer FRESH Texas Pecan, wonderful baked goods/pecan candies/homemade icecream/delicious creamy fudge. I would highly recommend this Shoppe to all. The gift baskets are beautiful and so reasonably priced! Can’t imagine not loving their FUDGE!!!

Stopped by this little mom & pop ice cream/fudge shop in Schertz, I bought some fudge and decided to get an ice cream cone, the girl recommended the pecan pie ice cream, absolutely de-lish! By far, one of the best ice creams I have had, next to Marble Slab, they had a bunch of yummy treats, cant wait to check out some of the other desserts-definitely home-made sweet treats here :)
