I recently moved here and after searching and searching, I think I finally found my new salon. I tried to book an appointment with Danielle, but, she was booked and recommended Jade. Jade cut and did a root touch up on my hair and cut my daughter’s hair. I highly recommend KM Impressions. I would feel comfortable letting either stylist cut my hair.

I went to KM Impressions this afternoon with four of my friends for a custom makeup consultation. The five of us were so different in skin tones and experience using makeup. However, the owner and her two assistants who also were members of her family, were able to get all of us into shades that matched us perfectly. The owner was so knowledgeable, warm, and professional. They custom make their makeup for each client onsite! How cool is that!!! It is now seven hours later and my face still looks fresh.

First, let me say I opened a Unilocal account for this post. I really just brushed off my experience, but finally felt it was important to not let others have the wool pulled over their eyes. I will also say that this review is mostly about Jacob and this may be a great place otherwise, but my experience was nothing more than trying to get taken advantage of and ripped off… and oh, hopefully you don’t have a job with normal business hours! Jacob does hair and while he does a pretty good job, he is ripping you off! He used to work out of his own store-front down the road at Salons by JC and charged exactly what I would have expected for small-town Live Oak, TX… full highlight/lowlight and a slight trim $ 120. I was pleased with my hair and planned on going back to see Jacob, however upon texting him for an appointment he told me he moved(no biggie, actually closer for me). I booked the appointment, only after some negotiating on schedules(have you seen their business hours!!!) and then thats when he said the service would be $ 200! Yes, $ 200, even though he had just done it a few short months ago for $ 120. I have NO problem with paying for good hair, but this seemed pretty ridiculous, especially when we’re talking about Schertz, TX in a shop that shares a wall with Radio-Shack! Anyways, after thinking about it, I messaged and let him know I changed my mind and didn’t need the appointment. I then decided to check out the website for KM Impressions and that’s when I felt like he was completely trying to take advantage of me. According to KM Impressions a full highlight is $ 105, lowlight is an additional $ 15, and a cut is $ 35(given they all have a + after them), so $ 155+ according to their services menu. That’s when I got upset, because I also don’t have long hair, so I couldn’t figure out where $ 200 came from. Not to mention a 20% tip on $ 200 is $ 40. So yeah, I found a new salon and stylist that does AMAZING hair, for a very reasonable price and I definitely don’t feel like I’m getting ripped off!
