Schlotzsky’s

My rating goes down .5 stars to 2 stars (based on my previous review). This has become an average sandwich shop (2.5 stars), but when it comes to value for what you get – it only gets 2 stars. Their prices have continued to increase while the portion sizes reduced even more. The Small Original (bun) is gotten smaller over the years. The meat has also gotten thinner and replaced with even more filler (stripped lettuce). Now they have found a way to make you pay more for a meal. I visited them on 2÷28÷16 and found out now that they no longer sell the meal option. So, if you want to get a Small (large) Original/​meal, you have to purchase everything separately. There’s a separate charge for the sandwich, drink and chips. I bought small original + tea and it cost $ 7.01. If you add the chips today, it’s another $ 1.39+tax for a small bag of chips. You’re looking about $ 34-​$ 35 (assuming you just want small sandwiches) for a family of four. This might now be considered a place you visit on an occasional basis.

Pick 2: half a 10″ pepperoni and cheese pizza with a bowl of tomato basil bisque. Sweet tea is fresh, and the food is served hot and fresh. Service was effective and efficient and polite. No complaints = no stars taken off.

As a children’s entertainer, i am on the road a lot and due to their new mobile app Lotz Better i have become more of a frequent eater at Schlotsky’s. It’s worth it to sign up. They send you out special deals. And the variety of options is awesome. I do prefer to eat in but sometimes you just have to keep moving. If you eat here you at least feel like you are getting quality food. The drawback are the gnats near the tea when you go inside.

As all of my friends know, I am not a fan of fast food. I do all that I can to avoid it, but sometimes I have no choice. So when I found myself in Scherz with only a little time to eat, I decided to visit the Schlotzky’s. The restaurant was very clean and inviting. I was greeted as soon as I walked to the counter and the employees had smiled on their faces! This in and of itself was a nice deviation from most of the fast food places I have stopped in. Not only that, but the owner was walking around getting people and cleaning tables!
I was agonizing over my lunch choice… I hadn’t been here in a very long time and wanted more than one thing. The cashier suggested I try the Pick 2… you can have 2 half sandwiches or any combo of sandwich, soup, salad or pizza. So… I had half a Fiesta Chicken and half a Deluxe Original… I think I actually did the happy dance!
They brought my sandwiches to me and I was very happy. Both were filled with delicious meats and trimmings and very hot. The owner stopped by and asked how my meal was… it was more like being in a fast casual eatery than a fast food place.
I was very pleased with my visit and will be sure to add THIS Schlotzsky’s to my restaurant rotation when in the area.

We are already fans of this chain, but there is really nothing special going on here.
Based on the interior alone, I don’t think you could tell if you were in Shertz or Sunset Valley.
Store is clean, service is fine, and food is good. It would be nice if they would remember ‘no onions’ when asked.
