We love Hung’s — triple jade chicken is AWESOME!!! We usually order take out and it’s always done quickly, food is always fresh and delicious! Can’t say enough great things about this place!

Went to Hung’s again for the first time in many years. We were slightly disappointed. The General Tso’s Chicken and the Orange Chicken were both too bland and not crispy at all. The Hot and Sour soup was much too spicy. The other meals at our table, however, were very good(Sub Gum War Bar, Chicken w/Broccoli, Pan Fried Noodles w/Chicken) as were the Steamed Dumplings appetizer. The service was prompt and friendly.

After trying almost all of the local Chinese places this has become my hands down favorite. I do find it to be a bit more expensive than the other places but the superior ingredients and quality of food are well worth the cost. They have online ordering — this is now my go to take out and eat in Chinese in the area.

Just finished our first meal here. The pan fried dumplings for an appetizer were great! As for main dishes, the sesame chicken was okay, nothing special but the General Tsos chicken was just spicy enough. I really enjoyed it. But I will say the best part of the meal was the House fried rice. Outstanding! Large chunks of pork, chicken and full sized shrimps. I definitely recommend the rice.

We order from here pretty regularly and are never disappointed. My go to dish is the Mu Shu Chicken, great flavor. My only problem is that I always over eat.

Very disappointed. Hot and sour soup was way too sour, all other dishes are very salty. The shrimp had a rotten smell. A very unpleasant experience for my whole family. I had small takeout Chinese restaurants’ food better than this.

Huang’s has some of the best fried rice I’ve ever had. Not that yellow rice with peas and carrots — I mean real fried rice like in Chinatown! Also the General Tao chicken is superb. Meaty and not just doused with breading like most places. I’ve only had take out here so I cannot comment on dine-in service but I would say that the place is pretty dated. Also I’ve used the restroom here, which was very bright and clean.

A local institution and our family’s go to Chinese food place for decades. Polite service, tasty food and speedy turnaround for pickup orders are what you always get. Lo Mein is especially tasty, but you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Kids love the coy fish in the lobby and the dine in experience is also nice.

I have eaten Chinese food in Europe and in China. Beijing, Hong Kong, and Shanghai. Last night I took my family to Hungs Shanghai restaurant in Scotch Plains and had what in my estimation was the worst meal I’ve ever had. No one was happy with their dinner and we will not return to this restaurant again.

I was the other night my wife was not hungry at all we sat on the table I ordered a 14.95 dish rice is included no drink just water the waitress took the order and I said just one my wife is not hungry she says«15.00 dollar minimum«I said ok my order is 15.00 with with tax included ! She says no it has to be over 15.00 so she asked my wife if she wanted a appetizer we said no I’m not hungry so I said give me a small wonton soup I was shocked how cold and no feelings she really wanted us to buy something else and no soup she wanted us to order a appetizer. She came back picked up the plate I said we do not want the soup or your fortune cookies thanks but no thanks and I tipped her 1.00 it’s not even one star that’s money hungry People they are over priced dishes Hudson County has better Chinese restaurants and are cheaper !!!

Absolutely spotless. This place is by far the cleanest resturant I have eaten in. Food is way above the other Chinese resturants in the area. Much higher in price but worth it. The staff is the only drawback. They are not friendly at all and offer no help with the menu. They are not rude but just short and to the point. It would be nice if they tried to be a little more friendly and made you feel welcome. They are the type of wait staff you would never over tip.

Hung’s is the standard by which I compare all other Chinese restaurants. The food is excellent, and the service is fast. The dining room is never terribly crowded and is pretty quiet. I have gone to Hung’s many times over the years, and have never been disappointed with a meal or the service.

I really enjoy the food. as it right next to my work. Probably one of the better places in the area. My only two reservations are they a little slow and they do not customize orders I asked for extra vegetables as they wouldn’t oblige. However overall experience is positive as I will return with friends.

Definitely the best chinese food place in the area. I started coming here since I was a child and I’m so used to the quality that I can’t really eat from the cheap takeout joints without tasting the baking soda in the beef. The owner Tammi told me that they use IBP flank steak… umm that’s better than the stuff I buy to make stew. Orange beef, young chow fried rice, and the house special rice noodle with curry are my favorites. The broccoli skin is peeled, so my kid actually eats it. I suppose this place is pricier than the other takeout chinese places, but hey… for the price of a starbucks frap, I can get a pint of pork fried rice!

Loved it. The benchmark that all current Chinese restaurants should be measured against. From their wonton soup, egg rolls and egg foo young, perfection.

Hung’s has been my favorite Chinese restaurant for as long as I have been eating solid food! I don’t live in New Jersey anymore, but a trip back isn’t complete without at least one trip to Hung’s– the food is ridiculously delicious and the staff is extremely friendly. The wonton soup and steamed dumplings are my favorite starters– the soup has more flavor than most other restaurants’ — the broth has a lot of flavor as does the meat in the wontons.(The crispy noodles that come with the soup are also quite tasty.) my favorite entrée is the chicken chow fun– the noodles have just the right amount of sauce, and the sauce is the perfect consistency(not too thick, but not runny.) Overall I HIGHLY recommend Hung’s, if you couldn’t already tell ;)

This place has become a staple in my family. When we want Chinese, we never go anywhere else. When I take a chance, I always get pissed because they do not make that fried rice like Hung’s. This fried rice is definitely exceptional. It reminds me of having Chinese food back in the 80s when I was little. The beef and broccoli is perfect. They also make a note to remember you.

I was working Sunday(03⁄03) in Scotch Plains when my co-workers & I decided to order takeout from here. We ordered two soups & three main items, & the total was $ 37.24. I thought that the price was a little high. However, the portions were really good — they filled out all main item-basket containers. Their normal level General Tso’s Chicken had just the right amount of spiciness. The Egg Drop Soup is good. The lady at the counter was very friendly & remembered to offer plasticware & condiments(which I would have forgotten about had she not said so). I plan to come back the next time I am working in Scotch Plains & try a different main course.
