It has been almost a year but«Camelback Park» is finally completed and open to the public. Up until a few weeks ago the new park was owned by the geese but is now shared by walkers, bicyclists, dog walkers and strollers. The cement paths have been swept clean but watch your step on the turf until there is some major flooding to dissipate the geese droppings. There’s a small lake(not intended for fishing) at the North end off Chaparral with a multi-use path meandering from side to side along Hayden to Camelback at the other end where the walkway splits into a Y. There is a running path adjoining the multi-use path. Many of the old golf course trees were saved plus hundreds of colorful trees and thousands of bushes have been planted in groupings. As the trees and bushes grow the new park will likely be enjoyed by all as an «Open Space Park». The young, old and in-between should like what they see and find areas for contemplation and enjoyment of nature. My favorite time will continue to be early morning for photo opportunities of sunrises, cloud formations and the shore birds.
