He is as good as it gets, he saved me when I could not walk. Walked the day after surgery, one week later I was doing great. I listened to everything he said. Pain meds do not allow you to heal as quickly. I’d rather have a little disccomfort then take pain meds, and at three weeks I feel great. My experience was awesome. It’s a small world, and I have met so many people from all over that come to him for surgery that have nothing but the best to say about him as a surgeon. To me, that’s what is the most important: his skill in the operating room.

I’m a nurse, and sought the recommendation of my colleague for a good orthopedic surgeon when I was having problems with my knee. She told me she worked with Dr. Firestone, and he had patients coming to him from professional sports, all over the country. Consequently, Dr. Firestone, did a revision on my knee.
When I was still in pain (and on pain medications) after nine months, I returned to him because I knew it shouldn’t take THAT long to recover. He didn’t bother to examine the knee or take any x-​rays. He immediately told me, «There’s nothing the matter with that knee, besides, I wouldn’t touch you, you’re nothing but a junky!» I was shocked and very hurt.
With the help of my PCP, I found another orthopedist (who, by the way, was very familiar with Dr. Firestone’s arrogance). He discovered that the source of my pain was because Dr. Firestone’s shoddy work loosened and the knee was extremely unstable. I needed another revision!
