Been coming to Geisha for awhile, love this place. The food is always good atmosphere is great, and service is always on point. On a recent trip in, the manager Ashley really went above and beyond to take care of us. It was pretty busy and the server got a bit behind and she really picked up the slack. I feel like most managers in old town are kind of faceless and stay behind the scenes so I have to give her a shout out here. Keep up the good work Geisha, we’ll be back!

I love geisha! We would come here basically every Sunday until we had a baby! Staff is usually always on point! We decided to go last night and our waitress(Jeanette) was AWFUL! I tried to order an app and she walked away Saying she would be back but all she did was go up to the bar and was on her phone taking videos of th guys at the bar. my boyfriend and I had to walk up to the bar multiple times because she never came to ask if we needed anything. She was to busy flirting with the guys at the bar. She completely ignored me when I went up to the bar to order more stuff and pay. When she was taking our order she was leaning on my boyfriends leg and only asked what he wanted. She was so unprofessional. I’ve never had such terrible service. I still tipped her 18% but honestly she didn’t deserve it. Im not one to write bad reviews but she needs to learn good customer service.

I placed a pickup order, and on the phone they said the total of the order is $ 70. When I got to pickup the food the total was $ 80. Somehow the price jumped up by $ 10. When I got home I realized they forgot to give me a dish I ordered. The food was not that good compered to what I paid. DEFINITELYNOTGOINGBACKAGAIN! Bad service on the phone and bad service in general.

I literally have nothing good I can say about this place. We tried a similar place in Vegas and it was amazing, so when we found out that there was a place in Scottsdale that had private karaōke rooms, we were all in! HUGE disappointment! First of all, There are only two private rooms. One small, one large. And they weren’t worth the $$$. They also charge you for a full hour. So we were there for 1.5 hours, but were charged for 2. It cost us double what we spent in Vegas for half the time. Then room itself was dark and plain. The karaōke system sucked. It kept telling us certain songs that were in the catalogue weren’t available. The song selection was weak. And the lyrics kept fading out so you couldn’t see them. The food was awful. Chicken tempura with no flavor. Seared ahi sliders that tasted like rubber. Drinks were poor. Service was horrible(waited 22 minutes for a soda!)…then the waitress kept walking in and interrupting songs. Then when we got our bill, an automatic 20% gratuity had been added! And the gratuity included the charge for the room fee! There’s no way I would have given a $ 35 tip, but we had no choice. It was just bad. Will NOT be returning!!!

What a great experience! This is my second time and I can’t help but be happy. I tried I think everything. Tempura veggies and shrimp. Tempura chicken. Pot stickers. California rolls. I had two drinks called Shiso-Horni. !!. Service excellent, staff informed I’ll refer this place over and over.

After reading reviews and driving around, we came to Geisha a GoGo. Staff was great… Other diners were not. The music was seemingly loud for 7:45 on a Wednesday and still couldn’t drown out the vulgar and volume of the three tables surrounding our family. I counted 30-or-so f-bombs in the time it took our appetizers to arrive. Goyaza was fab, edamame was hot fresh and salty. But when the party of 6 at the neighboring table began slamming their fists on the table to emphasize cackling laughter, along with a expletive that made all three kids look up, we got up, paid our check and left. I was bummed; it would have been great to try the original– if a little precocious/hoitytoity– rolls. Be warned. This isn’t a family friendly restaurant! This is frat bro/sorority sis land. Better off going to p f chiangs

Honestly was a little weary about going here because of the reviews & all. But I am so glad I decided to try it. My husband is a major sushi fan and is super picky and he was more than happy with the choices and tastes. Great happy hour, good food, friendly service & had no issues with our check. Very neat atmosphere and will definitely be coming back here again :)

Great happy hour deals! Apps, house rolls, and drinks ½ off — such a steal, especially since there are a lot of apps and house rolls to choose from. A fun atmosphere and definitely one of the best HH deals in Old Town for food.

I have been here a few different times and the Happy Hour is the way to go! Sushi is delicious, drinks and always stiff, music is upbeat and at night the vibe is really relaxing. Great place to go with a big group since they have worked with my large groups before. Will be back for sure!

The place gets high ranks for ambience. its very nicely laid out and comfortable to hang out in, so if your looking to chill somewhere with some drinks, I would recommend it. The sushi, however, is only so so. Granted, it’s not easy to find good sushi in AZ, but that doesn’t make the sushi acceptably great. It’s good enough if you need a sushi fix.

Geisha’s Sunday happy hour is unbeatable! Seriously how often do you find inexpensive sushi in old town Scottsdale? Good luck trying to have a conversation here because it gets pretty loud with the live DJ and crowded bar but who cares I’m sure your friends will understand.

Came here on Saturday night with my girlfriends for a Bachelorette party. I got the Yakisoba noodles because I wanted something that would hold me over while drinking all night. The menu said it would be $ 11 when I added chicken to it. I was charged an extra $ 4 for adding chicken from the $ 9 plain Yakisoba noodle bowl with no added protein. I used to be a server and I know how the computer works. The server manually added chicken to my dish to increase the price of my bowl. Lol. Sad? Absolutely. For a couple extra dollars to add to my tab, seriously? Little does she know that I would have tipped her well since I was in the industry. I asked her about the price change that differed from the receipt. She lied straight to my face. Lucky for her, she added gratuity to my tab because I would have tipped her zero. I don’t think I’ve ever tipped absolutely nothing before in my life, but this is absolutely unacceptable. I wish I would have remembered her name. Completely fraudulent and disgusting.

My boyfriend and I go to geisha often for their killer happy hour and awesome food. However tonight we had the BEST service we’ve ever had in the whole two years of going here. Her name is Krista and she is phenomenal!!! She is such a sweetie pie! Extremely attentive and super patient with us being indecisive and she gave us such happy vibes she definitely made our day! I highly recommend your request her section when dining here.

Treated a decorated military multi-deployed veteran like trash, cussed me out, and kicked me out specifically because I have a service dog. The owner Bryan Chittendon said«MY Dad was a Vietnam war veteran but he doesn’t use a f%$#@ dog as a crutch». This is no lie, the staff hate his guts, they all begged me to sue him, not just one, not just 2ALLL of them. All i hear about is how the owner/s take take take from the business and don’t put money back into it, this place is ran by a greedy arrogant step on your neck kind of asshole. I have never been, more honest or sincere when I say I’ll advocate not just against geisha a go go but anything that is ran by Bryan Chittendon I have never been wronged that badly, a service dog is not something you have for good reasons this was so immoral so unethical and inhumane The sushi was was mediocre at best and priced as though it, was the best, some of it was extremely fishy, staff always treated me so kindly so well(because they loved my dog partially lol) but thats ok this place can stay but Bryan. Chittendon should go.

If your goal was to hire the biggest douchebags on the planet as bartenders, you certainly succeeded. We would have stayed and ordered more food and drinks as the night went on, but your bartender was such a colossal jerk, with so much attitude, that the 12 of us left and took our business elsewhere. You can count on us never coming back. Ever. Extremely rude, especially for an anniversary party.

I’ve only been here during happy hour. Never had a bad experience. I love the BBQ ribs best in town I’d say. The friend rice with 3 different meats is loaded and very fillling. The sushi is good and the drinks are great. The wait for the food can be long at times even when they’re not busy but that’s no big deal as long as the food taste great

The happy hour at this place is the best for food and sake bombs! The chicken tempura and gyoza are delicous! They won’t let you make any modification to the sushi, which I thought was weird since sushi is usually prepared fresh, so usually you can make small substitutions or get the sauce on the side, but it’s not the end of the world. Also, they won’t seat you unless your whole party is there, so it is not the best for meeting up with people after work, unless you are all getting there at exactly the same time. The service is usually okay, not great but not terrible.

The two stars do not represent the food, just to be clear. The rolls we ordered were fantastic. The two stars are for the seating arrangements. Upon arriving to the hostess I noticed the dining area had some open seats, even at the bar. The hostess decided to seat us to the room to the left, The Tokyo Room. They sat us at a small 2 person high table right by the door and NOONE else was eating in there. It was incredibly loud and we couldn’t even hear each other talk. They could have easily sat is in the dining area and we would have had a much better experience.

Visited on a Friday night but we were the only two people at the sushi bar. The sushi chef seemed very friendly and asked if we wanted a roll of his creation. It was ok but I applaud the effort. However after I presented him with our paper order we then received two incorrectly made rolls that were not even ordered. We waited another 30 min to see if any of our rolls were coming out but to no avail. He forgot 4 rolls total that were never made. Wont likely go back.

I saw my online banking today and noticed that waitress over charged me $ 24!!! My bill was $ 34.80, I gave her $ 6 tip, it was $ 40.80. Today when I checked my online banking, it was $ 64.80. What happened there? I can’t believe it’s a mistake? I called restaurant today and tried to talk to a manager, I was told they were too busy because it’s happy hour now! What kind of customer service is that??? Unbelievable! I seriously doubt I will ever go back… Watch out, they might charge you whatever the amount they feel like!

This was my first time at Geisha and my first time doing karaōke. There was some confusion about the rental fee versus minimum spend and we almost left, but they were nice enough to have been willing to waive the cancellation fee due to the miscommunication. We ended up staying and having a great time. I had a gin & tonic at the bar and a Hello Kitty in the private karaōke room. The Hello Kitty drink was absolutely delicious and perfect for someone like me who loves sweet drinks. Happy hour sushi was cheap but delicious. When doing tequila shots, salt and limes were available upon request. While they had a good selection of songs, the selection wasn’t the most current(where was«Hotline Bling»?) and sometimes random: no «Don’t Stop Believing» by Journey? And only two Taylor Swift songs(and from her first album!)?? The staff were competent and accommodating and I was impressed by how well our server handled us despite all the karaōke commotion. I wish it was easier to pay in large groups. Individual tickets would have been nice. Overall, a good place to go for drinks and karaōke. Just do your research about the private karaōke room policies beforehand.

the half price apps are a nice deal and it’s a sold bar for watching football and/or meeting new people. love the gyoza, the tempura, the soups and some of the crazier rolls(like the one with Fritos) but not as big a fan of the«regular» sushi. Granted, this isn’t the place you’d line up for if you were looking for«regular» sushi. the wait for tables can be long but if you are just two, the bar opens up pretty quick for FCFS.

My husband and I finally decided to give geisha a go after hearing many friends rave about how fun it is and how great the happy hour deals are. So, 3:00 pm sushi Sunday it was today. We sat outside and the environment was great. Cool vibes, and our cooler waitress came up and got our drink order. I got a lemon drop — it’s my favorite drink for sushi and I get it all the time. I was disappointed by the drink. It had a ton of ice chips floating on the top and was really harsh, not smooth or sweet in the slightest. We got a few appetizers — the gyoza was delicious! I loved the sauce that came with it. We also got a shrimp tempura roll and it was what I expected it to be — it was, in a word, alright. Nothing to write home about. I got the salmon seaweed salad bowl and my husband got the Astro boy roll. He loved his roll and it looked beautiful(I’m mad I didn’t take pictures!). The salmon bowl had great flavor, but I wish the salmon was cut into manageable pieces instead of huge slices of it covering the whole bowl. Without a knife(they only give you chopsticks, which I can appreciate, but still), it was really hard to get a full bite of flavor. It was still delicious though. Experience wise, the crowd wasn’t really my kind of crowd. Pretty typical old town Scottsdale crowd — complete with loud golf carts full of drunk people(at 3:00 pm on a Sunday! Go to church you sinners!) ready to par-tay. I would say if it’s late and you want sushi and to maybe sing some drunk karaōke, this place would be tops. If you want some chill sushi with your husband on a Sunday afternoon, it’s not the best.

I save my 5-star ratings for the truly exceptional. That said, this place was great! I went solo because I’m only in town for business, but the hostess and my server were friendly and all smiles. I sat at the sushi bar just so that I could be out of the way and enjoy a bit of peace and quiet, but the ambiance in the place was great! Sushi fusion with some spunky atmosphere. I read several reviews before I decided on Geisha a Go Go and most of the lower ratings were focused on bad service. I did not experience this at all. Service was just right for the experience I was seeking. The sushi chefs were also friendly and they made some delicious rolls! I tried the Rock Shrimp Tempura(happy hour pricing, of course!) and I recommend trying this! I wish all of my favorite local sushi places had it because it’s a perfect shared app. I also got just a plain olé Philly roll(with soy paper, because that’s how I roll … no pun intended), and a Bye Bye Kitty that was pretty good. Spicy guac on seared tuna? Yes please! I’d come back in a heart beat! Great find in Old Town Scottsdale.

I’m not a sushi person but Geisha makes me want to have it. Sushi, sake and a private karaōke room sounds like winning to me. They have happy hour every day from 3−7pm, and ½ price on all drinks and appetizers for all day Sunday. Their infused sake is amazing in pomegranate and strawberry. I’m not a fan of the mango or cucumber flavors. Sake bombers are on point. Can’t go wrong with the appetizer basics, Edamame. The Chicken Lettuce wraps are a delicious combination of chicken and vegetables. If you like Fritos then you need to try the Pokeman roll, containing frito crusted salmon, spicy crap, and avocado! One drawback is the wait for a table, but usually there is room at the bar while you wait to be seated.
