Had to have them come out twice for the heat not working and was charged twice and made it seem like we didn’t know what we were doing then the last time the guy put in the wrong part and the fan would not shut off had to call HSA again and get a different company to come fix their problem after 3 months we finally have peace and quiet

I had pretty much the same experience as Pam C. posted about Sept 2015. And ironically through American Home Shield, too! These rip-off artists gave me an estimate for over $ 4500 to replace an evaporative cooler and over $ 6500 to replace my air conditioner. They tried to charge me over $ 600 to replace the Freon that someone else only charged me $ 225 for. SHADY! SHADY! SHADY! These people will not only RIPYOUOFF, but they’ll smile while they’re doing it, too.

This company was dispatched by American Home Shield to a property I manage. They did the service call 8 days ago and are waiting for a coil to be delivered. When I called to check the status of the order, the girl that answered the phone said we have no way to track the order and it will be in when it gets in. I called another AC company and they can get the coil within a couple of hours. Today it will be 96 degrees, tomorrow it will 98 and we have a 65 year old man sitting in a house without air and Ice Man Cooling can’t even take the time to track down the part. I would not recommend this company and if you have American Home Shield and see there name come up as a vendor, immediately cancel the service and request a different vendor.

I too had the misfortune of dealing with this company through American Home Shield. The tech left us a signed paper indicating the work that needed to be done, assuring us that they just needed authorization to do the work and that we would be responsible for the cost of the freon which would be about $ 650. Imagine my surprise when I called AHS after sweltering through a three day holiday weekend and was told that what was submitted to them was«due to negligence and lack of regular maintenance(I have copies of all my yearly maintenance work for the past 12 yrs we’ve been in the house) the unit was completely rusted and full of debris and would need to be replaced COMPLETLEY out of pocket for a total cost of $ 2,400!!! I was SHOCKED to say the very least! The AHS rep advised me that we were entitled to a second opinion. I specifically asked for a REPUTABLE company(I had read the many disparaging reviews, along with the ill written and unprofessional responses from the«owner» while waiting the four days it took to receive word from AHS.) They sent out their top rated preferred vendor the next morning, who said nothing about negligence but DID say that the leak in the evap coil was very difficult to find… as well as finding another leak in the outside unit that Iceman was oblivious to. Bottom line… we will be getting the repairs done UNDERWARRANTY, and I feel good knowing that the company doing the repairs is not trying to cheat us in the work they will be doing. I concur with those who have said before me RUN! Don’t even bother having Iceman come out. They’ve proven time and again that they can’t be trusted.

Technician came out and did his inspection for our AC. Said a power surge broke it and he would call it in to the warranty place. It was NOT a power surge that broke it we checked. The technician either didn’t inspect the inside or has magical powers to where he didn’t break ANY of the webs inside. They did fix one part decent enough but the rest is a no go for me. Also if you do use them don’t leave your purse on the counter… I thought my purse would be safe on the counter and now I’m out $ 20!!! I guess you do have to watch people like a hawk and not give them any trust. We had another place come out to inspect the same problem and yeah we’re getting it fixed now.

Ice man was called out to diagnose and fix my AC by my home warranty company, because they specifically told my AC company that they could repair ductless mini split systems. When the Iceman tech arrived the first thing he said is that he can’t fix mini split systems, but he’ll look at it. He left saying that it’s a circuit issue and perhaps a coolant issue and that I should receive a call the next day about how long it will take to get a replacement part and if my warranty company would cover it. Before leaving he said it shouldn’t be a problem getting it covered because he asked someone within his organization if it was covered before he came out and she said it was. I waited 3 days and still didn’t receive a call from Iceman. I called my home warranty company, they said it was covered and they would get Iceman on the case. I still never heard back from Iceman so I called them later that day. They said, despite the fact that I have ‘printed proof’ that the repair is covered, that they couldn’t fix it. I then said let’s pretent it wasn’t covered , would they still be interested in fixing my AC. They said ‘no, not really’ and remained silent until I hung up on them. This is by far one of the worst AC repair experiences I’ve had in my life. As if dealing with the home warranty company isn’t difficult enough, with repair people like this who needs enemies!

Well its that time of year when AZ a.c. systems act up so I called the ICEMAN, wow very professional, courteous, and on time. All other companies should strive to be like these guys. I will definitely recommend them to my family and friends.
