I’ve been here several times and love the atmosphere, but you really want to try to charge a $ 5 cover on a Wednesday. The place is dead as fuck. For that, I walked away. You would have made so much more if you weren’t so money grubby. Boo.

Returned for a graduation party and they’re still awful. The front door man wasn’t standing at the door so I let myself in. But he ran over to make sure I paid the $ 5 cover charge, even though we had a table and large party… Seated away from the live band(couldn’t even see them), tucked away in a corner. The waitress had a dull personality and knew nothing about the menu. I asked for wine recommendations and she said the menu changed so she didn’t know what was available. Their Tuscany flatbread was surprisingly decent. They can have a star for that.

First time there and didn’t really know what to expect. It was definitely a cool concept and I would probably return. We went with a decent size party which might have hindered us in trying to get drinks or a table as seating was limited. Still worth checking out nonetheless.

We stopped in for a glass of wine after dinner last night since it had been years since we have been here. The door is around back and not well marked, but worth hunting around for. The speakeasy is cool, comfortable and a great place to kick back and enjoy a nice glass of wine. The bartenders were friendly and the wine selection was extensive. Next time we’ll come back for wine and cheese/charcuterie.

Kazimierz is the perfect spot for a chill, fun night out in a more adult atmosphere. It’s laid-back, retro speakeasy-style interior is often accompanied by talented bands and great jazz singers. They’re constantly switching up their drink menus to include playful options like the«Dirty Disney» drink list and the«Dr. Seuss» drink options. The place feels intimate, classy and fun. Enter through the back door(facing the parking lot behind The Montauk) and don’t protest the $ 5 cover. It goes straight to the band, and when you hear them, you’ll know they’re worth it. I’ve never tried their light bites, but this is a great place to kick off an evening with the girls(or a romantic date)!

Visiting Chandler and our driver recommended Cowboy Ciao in Scottsdale. After dinner we asked the bartender where we should go for wine and ambiance. We were literally escorted over the Kazimierz where we were introduced and treated like VIPs. The atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for, the service was outstanding, thank to Becca, the live band was freakin’ awesome and the fondue was perfect. I cannot wait to go back.

Love it, love it, love it. had an impromptu date night, and after some hunting found out we were finally trying Kaz. The place was pretty empty aside from those at the bar and those doing a wine tasting, but we took a cozy high table near the wall. Our server was great(Ashley maybe?), checked on whether things were available and helped with my adjusting items(taking meat off, etc). We both had a glass of Cab, shared some delicious cheese fondue and chatted while the band got set up and people filed in for the wine tasting. Then for dinner, I had the BBQ Chx pizza(sans the bacon and chicken– I’m on a barbecue sauce kick) and he had the short rib tacos. Both were absolutely divine. The roasted Poblano peppers gave his tacos a kick that left his mouth pleasantly on fire. The barbecue sauce was tangy, sweet and just what the doctor ordered. Overall, we had a great night and are looking forward to going again.

Nice place for wine, atmosphere is dark(like I like it, I look much better in the dark) and intimate. Food was decent, pricing was not a shock(i get traumatized by receipts) thank goodness, Ill be back again for sure.

I’m not sure how I feel about this place. We went before the music so maybe that’s the main attraction but we sat at the bar and ordered two drinks each. The drinks were ok, nothing that I was over the top about but we paid a pretty penny for them– probably should have just stuck with wine. I like the chill atmosphere but don’t go to this place if you’re already sleepy, the lights made me want to go back and take a nap! Bartenders were both attentive and could tell they were really passionate about the place. Maybe the band would make the place a bit move eventful — there is also a cover charge starting at 9pm I believe. Maybe we will give this place a second chance in the future.

Dark speakeasy in a trendy part of Old Town Scottsdale. Live bands most nights. Seen soul/jazz bands there. Not bad… Obscure wine list, but well balanced and lengthy. The food was good, Steak bites and Hummus plate a must. Friendly staff. Locals mostly, but business folks like myself we evident… But we mix in well!

A little pricey but wine bars as good as this cost. I liked the selection of wines. I normally do not like Pinot Noir but they had a awesome one form Oregon, Left Hand I believe. I highly recommend. The atmosphere is great, dark plush seating, warm colors. A great place for a date because I was on one.

Such a cute date night spot. my boyfriend and I went to dinner first then got here around 730pm(before the cover!) so we got a couch to sit on with some wine & listened to the band. Would recommend getting here earlier so you can get a table or couch, it gets really crowded closer to 8⁄9. Our original waitress forgot about us so we got a new one, only negative thing to say. Other then that, had a great time :)

These guys are thieves! Cover charge was $ 5 per person which was fine, I didn’t have cash but he said they can take a credit card payment. They took my card and didn’t give it back. We ordered drinks as a group, and the bill came at the end of the night and all the drinks were on one bill. Again no worries since it was my friends birthday and I was happy to pay for him and his wife. I ask a server for the signature page and she says«Uhh well did you give them a card?» I said yes, and she said ok your server will be over in a minute. Then my server comes over and I ask for the signature page for the card and she’s puzzled and says Well umm did you give them a card?” I said yes. She’s stands there confused and I said«They took my card and never gave it back. She became extremely aggressive at this point and laughed at me and said she would go find the card. After several minutes of uncomfortable confusion she comes back with the bill and tossed it on the table. I left her $ 0.00 tip and left. Never again will I go to this place. $ 52.00 for 3 watered down drinks. There are plenty of great places to eat and drink in Arizona, this unfortunately is not one of them.

Very good wine bar in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale. It’s hidden and hard to find, which makes it even more special. Live music and huge wine selection. Hosts are very knowledgable. Wine served perfect temperature. Nice audience.

The coolest wine bar worth finding!!! I was in town for business — we wanted to eat at Cowboy Ciao and the wait was about 90 minutes but they told us about this hidden gem — I thought it was great to recommend such a unique place. What do I mean by worth finding — well the entry is speakeasy style in an alley just off the of Stetson the main drag in Scottsdale. The interior once you find the hidden entry is really cool. Feels like the most hip cellar ever. We all found a place at the bar which is a full bar btw even though it is called a wine bar. I am a huge wine lover and they have a very long list of wines by the glass and flights available. The bartender was super helpful in picking some good wines for us all to try. I am also I big cheese fan and Kazimierz does not disappoint there either. selected 3 cheeses to try — they charge by choice — but it was enough to share so even tho a little pricey it was worth it. Love the atmosphere — plenty of cozy places to share with friends or dates — tho they fill up fast so it looked like they are not easy to snag. Everyone there was really nice — didn’t feel like your typical crowd in Scottsdale and I have been there quite a few times so I really appreciated that. I am giving Kazimierz five stars for being unique and providing a really cool place to enjoy friends and good wine. also a prefect small menu of quality bites. These types of places are few and far between. I was not there on a live music night so I can’t comment on that or the cover charge but $ 5 does seem reasonable for good entertainment.

Very relaxing atmosphere. Very dark & moody with the live music. The band showed up at 8pm but didn’t play until after 9pm. Good place to bring a blind date that’s not so good looking bc you won’t be able to see their face anyway bc it’s so dark and when you do the drinks will make you so pumped it won’t matter anyway! *Cheers**

Wow! So disappointed… was visiting Scottsdale for the weekend and after asking some locals the hots spots, everyone said great things about Kazmierz. Left the hotel excited for a great evening w/the gf, pulled up to the door, charged $ 5 cover per person… was okay with that. Walked in, waited for a sever to seat us. We were seated. That was the the experience turned bad… waited for 20 minutes, no service. Got up, went to the bar to the close the tab, didn’t care we were leaving. Only bright light in the place was the door security. He recognized we were leaving early and felt terrible about our experience. Did everything possible to make us stay. He should be training the wait staff #customerservice

Well, where do I begin? We were greeted by dirty rag smell as we walked in. Or was it from a backed up sewer? Or a combination of all things with bad odor. This horrible odor did not give off the«classy, high end» wine bar look. After being greeted by the sewer, a female said they would be ready 5 – 10 mins later. At this point, it was around 5:58 or 5:59. When my friend called to reserve a table, she was told to come a little before 6 to ensure getting a table since they didn’t accept reservations for parties of 3. What good did that do to come early? Were we supposed to wait outside the door until it opened at 6pm? Oh right. If you can’t start on time, then maybe you need to come to work earlier. We went back inside a few minutes later. That horrible odor again. So gross. Most of the tables, I think all of the tables that I could see, had«reserved» signs. We sat at one of them, even though we didn’t have a reservation. What is the point of putting«reserved» signs on all the tables if they aren’t really reserved? LOL it’s like«we are all booked up»…but not really. After 2 hours, more than ½ of the tables were still empty. Do you see where I’m going with this. While we were trying to enjoy our wine, cheese fondue and cobb salad, we could still feel the mugginess and smell the musty, moldy odor. It doesn’t really go away. It stays with you. I felt really dirty being in there. The best part of this place? The wine and cobb salad. It must have been the dressing. I don’t generally drenched my salad with dressing, but the dressing helped the salad stay together. Making it easier to eat in the dark. Oh, they do have a nice long bar if you’re interested in that. And I really do love the door from the outside. Totally cool. I really want to like to place. Maybe come back and give them another chance. But I’m over it. Bookmark removed. There are way too many restaurants in old town.

The service was very very bad. We came in with a party of more than 6 and had to pay 20% gratitude, which I don’t have a problem with since most of the places have similar policies. But the problem was that the waitress didn’t do anything which deserved the 20%. She brought waters about 20 minutes after we asked for it and never refilled them for almost 3 hours we have been there. We had to go to the bar to get our waters refilled. She only brought the wine bottles and just left them on the table without pouring. She didn’t even come over to pick up the tab. If you wanna have very bad service with some good music, Kazimierz is your place.

I had a friend in town from San Fransisco who enjoys well crafted cocktails. He ordered an old fashioned but it wasn’t to his standards so he sent it back. The bartender came to our table to notify us that it was a $ 15 drink and that he would take it off the check this time but to watch it. I was blown away! Perhaps he is not used to having his cocktails sent back because the crowd was highly intoxicated by 8pm and they had no idea what they were drinking. I spoke to the manager about our experience and he clearly did not care. The staff was very unprofessional… Some of the worst service I’ve experienced. I will not be returning.

Christmas in July here is a MUST in Scottsdale. I love the décor & everything about it. Just fun, fun. They really do it up right. The band was an 80’s throwback & fun. The staff was dressed in 80’s garb & really looked the part. Great fun. If you haven’t been here you should. :)

Was surprised last month by a date night in Old Town. Scott was soooo excited to take me to a wine/tapas joint which he researched, and it seemed promising. One * removed for the ridiculous $ 5/each cover charge(this is not a «club») I wanted to turn and leave then, but we’d made the trek, and we begrudgingly paid and went in. Tacky. Pay the band, don’t charge your customers. One * removed for the oppressive heat inside! This is AZ, in the summer: plan accordingly, and keep it at a below inferno temp. Now, to the good: dark and sexy spot, the band was great, and we thoroughly enjoyed our cheese & charcuterie, wine, and the warm, crusty baguette. Seating at high two top was AOk, but we were too close to the band, which made conversation difficult. The hostess did offer to move us, but only available spot was outside kitchen door. The couches looked comfy, and can be reserved. Service was very good, checking back and refilling water, etc. I would return if in Scottsdale, but great wine bar options in Chandler with similar fare, no cover, and comfy temp will keep me from going out of my way to return.

Scottsdale is supposed to be better than this. Pros: Beautiful place, Nice staff, Good music. Cons: Cover charge is ridiculous. Everywhere you look is reserved, all the comfortable seats. I sat at a completely uncomfortable high top. Meanwhile all the couches, etc unused. I will never come back, I would have spent a lot more money If I could sit and relax. Servers are not knowledgeable about wine. This is a wine bar, no excuses. Nice place, but I don’t want to play games, I want to come relax and enjoy a nice setting. Greedy establishment trying to be like Vegas with that reserved crap.

An absolutely perfect vibe distinguishes this place from the 74,935 other wine bars in Scottsdale. You sort of need to know where you’re going, because it’s down an alley on the back side of a building and if you miss the sign on the street, you’d never find it. Behind a rustic wooden door is a terrific hidey-hole with low ceilings(but not too low), dark lighting(but not too dark), and a large selection(but not too large). Perfectly pitched for a relaxed evening for someone solo, a couple, or a group with a range of seating options.(Couches will fill up quickly on busy nights, but duh.) Servers know their stuff and the prices are reasonable. A $ 6 cheese tray comes with all kinds of accoutrements and is almost a meal in itself. An atmosphere all its own, and a place I always try to hit when I’m in town.

The only reason that I gave this one star, is because I can’t figure out how to give zero stars. My group of about 10 people went there on Thursday July 2, which was my birthday, and we were treated VERY rudely by the staff. The majority of us got there at 6:45pm well before the live band went on, and we wanted to sit on the couches mid-way back in the room. However the bartender told our organizer that we couldn’t, because since we were 10 people, and all«single», that we would probably want to get up, and so «we would be in the way». They shuffled us off to a corner, where we couldn’t even see the band. We tried to move twice, but the first time, the sofa that we tried had«Reserved» sign on it. Several other tables also said«Reserved». What kind of club reserves seating spots in an open club? I thought the general standard was«First Come, First Served». So that same bartender came over and made us move. We finally managed to secure a small table with 4 chairs, and tried to move 2 chairs from another table, but AGAIN the waitress came over and told us we can’t do that. I complained to the waitress Jessica, but all she could respond with was«Rules Are Rules». So, despite our group spending over $ 300.00 there, and the band«Neon» being good, I have NEVER been treated so poorly by the staff of any club that I’ve been to, so we left. The waitress’s name was Jessica, and the only thing that I’m sorry about is that I didn’t get the Bartenders name. I will never go back to this place. There are plenty of other places in Scottsdale that know how to treat their customers with respect.

Went here Friday night for date night. Was a little disappointed based on all the great reviews. First off, we were sweating. Not sure why they don’t turn on the AC. Way to hot in there. Also for two people, you have to sit in the very uncomfortable high tables with wooden chairs. No cushion whatsoever. Very hard on the back. Hardly romantic when you sitting sweating in a dark room in an uncomfortable chair. I ordered the Blush sparkling wine. It was lame. The food was below par. In particular, we ordered the fondue and a charcuterie plate(salami and pork sausage sliced meats). The fondue was pretty crappy. The charcuterie was lame. We had way better wine snack food at other places. We went out and head to another place. Service was good. Waitress was nice. We had to valet park for $ 5 since there was no free parking available on Friday evening.

This is the cutest, most low-key place in old town. I was invited to meet some people here and I must say, ITSHIDDEN. So incredibly difficult to find, but this is why it’s amazing and not filled with the douchy crowds of Scottsdale. It’s very low lighting, so an amazing ambiance. Also, how can you ever go wrong with live music? They have nice group seating(for larger groups) and it’s not too loud to just have a nice conversation. You must try the wine, don’t be one of those people that goes to a wine bar and orders a coors light. Also, ask your server questions. They’re incredibly knowledgable on the menu and can reach you a thing or two. I would say that for dress, you want to be a little fancier vs. casual. I’ve seen both, but think it’s too nice of an atmosphere to be in shorts and flip flops.

HIGHLYRECOMMENDED: Kazimierz World Wine Bar is one of my favorite Scottsdale hangouts. They have an epic wine list, a full bar and their food comes from their sister restaurant next door: Cowboy Ciao. They offer live music frequently. The vibe inside is very appealing. Not your typical younger Old Town crowd so common in the area. This spot appeals to a slightly older mixed crowd(35 and up). The bartenders don’t appear to be the typical pretentious group. They are friendly and as chill as Kazimierz is itself. This is one of my favorite places to frequent and it is my favorite place to recommend to out of towners that are cool and 35 yrs or older. It’s one of the best kept secrets in Old Town Scottsdale. Don’t expect to find Kazimierz by their flashy signage. In fact, there is no sign out front. If you know where Cowboy Ciao is(Corner of Stetson &6th) then you know where Kazimierz is. To get there, simply face the front door of Cowboy Ciao and walk north(or to the left). You’ll see a breezeway between CC and the building next door. Look for the stained glass, which is hiding Kazimierz. Simply walk down the breezeway and make a left. The first door, which is unmarked, is the entrance to Kazimierz.
