I made an appointment to get Botox for the location between my eyes and my forehead. I have had Botox a few times before, and I take well to it, and I was overdue for a «fix.» I needed to find a new doctor, after relocating here from out of state, so I read reviews about dermatologists and plastic surgeon offices in Phoenix. Surely, I could find a decent practitioner out here in the land of wrinkles and melanoma? I made an appointment with Dr. Shaw’s office, and it happened to be on one of his«special deal» days. I am weary of these deals; it’s like the ludicrousness of group-on coupons; as they more often than not are just a trick to lure patients in, lure their money out of their pockets, and for no return on their investment. I thought the receptionist was highly professional and friendly and I hoped my fears were misplaced. I arrived to a lovely reception of foods and drinks, with«worker bees» everywhere. It was a chaotic day and there must have been a lot of patients. My aesthetician, Mandy, seemed friendly enough, but my ears pricked up when she said she’d «do a little Botox and I could always come back for more later if I thought it necessary.» That meant exactly this: she’d put in the least amount possible, charge the same amount, and expect me to come back for more, and charge more. Nonsense. No, sorry, get it right the first time. I’ll come back when it has worn off. I never have had anything overdone previously, and I have always enjoyed natural results, but this was ridiculous. I got nothing! I spent over hundreds of dollars on nothing. Mandy had a needle full of what(I don’t know, I didn’t see the label on the vial), and she’d press the needle to an area and literally the fluid would drip down my face and she caught it with a tissue. It never actually made it into my facial muscles! The tissue received more so-called Botox than I did! This was a ruse, a waste of time and money, and I will not step foot into this practice again. If this doctor allows this sort of «practice» to take place, why would I endorse him or his practitioners for anything? The only Botox that I saw in that whole place must have been injected into his face, prior to the photo he took for advertising his business. I’m giving two stars because I liked the location, the office had aesthetically pleasing décor, and the nurses/aestheticians were pleasant and even that is kind of a joke… the real reason a person goes to a place like this is for their own personal physical aesthetic improvement and that was worthy of no stars, unfortunately. A major disappointment. Do I have to go back to California to find a decent Doctor?
