This place is wonderful! I went for the first time today after receiving a free cut and style voucher for being new to town. Rachel fixed my hair since I had an awful cut somewhere else. She was sweet and took her time making sure my hair looked perfect! Great business; I will be coming back!

One of the best salons I have been to in years! My hair was completely messed up and damaged from my previous salon and Mihai did a great job fixing the damage. He saw that my hair didnt react well to the dye from sally’s and did a test strand of bleach on my hair to see if my hair could hold it, but it didn’t. I wanted to lighten my hair and do a bayalage but recommended other options to help my hair become healthy again and then I can do a bayalage later. My hair looks absolutely amazing! I trusted him completely with the color choice and it was a color I have tried to get for years! A BEAUTIFUL chocolate brown with a few hidden light brown low lights. The service was great and his assistant was also very sweet and friendly! As she washed my hair we had funny conversations and she always made sure I was comfortable. I will be coming back for sure next time! I am moving back to Tucson in a few weeks but will for sure be making the drive to Scottsdale to get my hair done! Every staff member I met was very friendly and were all on the same page about my hair. :)

Tamara is THE BEST at color/​higlights/​lowlights (color range from light to dark blonde) and cuts! I have been getting awesome service in a fun, friendly environment for about 8 years from Tamara. She is so personable and professional, and delivers excellent results every time! There was a short period when I decided to try a few others, which was a BIG mistake. Tamara is my go to hair gal and always will be! Give her a try and be sure to book in advance — she’s busy and in demand!

I had Natural Brown hair colored Red in June 2015 didn’t like it that much. So colored it back in dark brown July 2015. In Feb 2016 decided to go blonde. I was looking for a new stylist so after I saw Tatiana Mutu’s work online — I decided to give it a try. In two visits — 2 weeks apart I had my Brown-​Red-​Brown hair transormed to a beautiful Blonde. I am very happy with Tatiana’s work she is pationate about her job and it shows! Very pleased with my new Stylist!

Been going to Dustan at Rumors for a few years now, and have to say that man knows how to color hair! Artistic talent is a big plus when it comes to coloring and having the ability to bring dimension and depth to hair. Dustan can accomplish this. He can also cut with precision and listens to ideas and what I want, which is what its all about. My hair color is truly a work of art with depth, dimension and shine and I am in love, with my hair again. I’ve never been kept waiting forever and am always treated like I matter. Always a pleasure!

I’m new to the area and was understandably hesitant toward getting my hair dyed, but Kayla was incredible and completely fulfilled my idea of a super blonde look. Definitely coming again

Kayla, who is about to get her chair full time, dyed my hair and she was amazing! She was super personable, easy going and a pro with dealing with my precious color and natural roots coming in! I was out of there in record time (just an hour) and felt amazing leaving the salon! Ask for Kayla if you are choosing rumors!

My hair turned orange after two washes. Called to let them know and to get a re-​do. Receptionist took it pretty personal that I did not like my hair. She kept insisting they are a professional salon. I re-​booked with another stylist because Kristina was taking the day off. I sent an email to show how my hair was orange and her reply was to ask for shampoo I’m using. This is not a shampoo issue– even a bottle of 99 cent shampoo would not make my hair turn this bright of orange .
I called back to cancel because I found someone who is a master colorist. They had no record of me and the person hung up the phone. I thought to myself, great glad I found someone else –would of be horrible to show up and they have no idea who I am
!
Now they call me 4 days later to confirm the appointment ! What a cluster of a mess.

I’ve been going to Rumors for a VERY long time… maybe, 20 years? I’ve had a few gaps here and there, different management/​ownership, etc… but the current shop is TOP NOTCH! I’ve had several different stylists and every single one has been awesome! My current stylist, Lauren, may be the best one yet though. True, my cuts are much more simple than what women get there… but if you’re a guy that enjoys the salon experience over a typical barbershop or supercuts, Rumors is your place. Give it a shot and you’ll see what I mean…

I had my hair done yesterday; I had been seeing another girl for several years and when she moved back to England, I was struggling to find someone new. My sister in law went to Rumors and saw Rachel; her hair turned out great! So I went to see Rachel G. with a mission! I had pretty dark hair and I wanted to be blonde! I had a picture and Rachel spent awhile reviewing it and talking to me about the process. Then she spent FOUR HOURS perfecting the look I had requested! She was absolutely fantastic and I LOVE what she did! I have definitely found my new stylist; she is great! As a side note, the salon was very nice and all the staff were extremely polite! Definitely a great find!

Just got the best cut of my life from Dustin. First time there. Went super short which I rarely do because of bad experiences in the past which I regretted for the several months it took to grow my hair out again. Not at all this time with Dustin. I have naturally curly hair and prefer to blow dry it straight. Tricky picky stuff. Dustin also has curly hair so gets it and is a master at short cuts. He gave me a darling «do» that can be worn curly or straight. Picking a stylist can be a real a hit or miss proposition and a real bummer if it’s a miss. DUSTIN IS AN ABSOLUTE HIT.

I followed a stylist here a long time ago, moved too far away and stopped coming here, then moved back years later. Tons of experiences, all of them really good. I always walk out feeling glamorous!
Since moving back to the area, my husband and I both see Caitlin, who always does a great job even though I have super long, straight hair in layers and he has a short, modern cut. Clearly, she’s versatile. Plus, she’s lovely to chat with (also important in a stylist!).

Rumors was the first salon I’ve tried in Arizona since moving from NJ, and although pricier than I was looking for, I tried it. Let’s just start with, it’s not worth the pricey tag. I went in for a color and cut, a mini make-​over as I call it (you will see the pic!), the hairdresser was fairly polite. She clearly didn’t care for me 110% but that’s another story. The atmosphere was clean, so was the salon. the staff was professional and the although I was late, the time manner I was cared for was great. I left there satisfied with the color and the blow out, was not recommended any special products nor directions to care thereafter. Also, when I asked for advice, while being attended too, I was not given any.
The dilemma: Within 4 days after the hair dye, the color began to fade. I didn’t contact the salon because it was a busy 4 day holiday weekend. By the 12^th day, the color was practically all gone. And I finally went back to the salon, and they fixed it. Not with huge smile in their faces but enough to get me by I supposed. The stylist was a different one, also polite but cold. Didn’t care to be chatty and I guess wasn’t thrilled to be doing a «pro bono» job. He found a million and one excuses to why the hair color failed. But it wasn’t just faded, it was also… splattered all around. Like, there were darker spots here and there. It was poorly done, and FYI; I do not have nowhere near a lot of hair, and is very thin! No excuses… very expensive place, don’t waste your money there. This hairdresser recommended a very expensive shampoo & conditioning in which I purchased, it did very little to help with the color. I left a generous gratuity for him, with hopes he won’t be so cold with a «non-​paying» customer in the future, and I have no intention in coming back there.
Service and quality is very important in this industry. I feel ripped off beyond financials from this business…

I was in during the holidays to FINALLY get my hair cut. This is something that I constantly procrastinate about. It had been almost 18 months since my last cut (oops!). My stylist was great. I had already shampooed that day, so she rinsed & conditioned my hair and gave me a lengthy scalp massage. I was interested in bangs, but based on my morning routine (shower, towel dry, brush), she didn’t recommend them & I followed her advice. I may have to suck it up and commit to more morning prep time, as I’m STILL thinking about them! I hadn’t found a stylist/​salon in Scottsdale that I cared to go back to, but I’ll be back here! I have fairly long, straight hair & Nicole was great! She was easy to chat with and did a great job with my hair. Thank you!

GREAT costumer service and excellent knowledge in hairstyling. I seriously thought I’d never find a good hairstylist in AZ until I came across the Hairstylist named Mihai, he was able to give me my desired hairstyle based on just seeing a picture of it. Amazingly talented. Highly recommended. Thank you.

I normally go to a hairdresser in California to get my hair trimmed and dyed. I have always had really long hair but I decided a few months ago that I wanted it short. I knew I wouldn’t be in LA so I had to find someone out here.
I found Rumors on Unilocal and researched the website and the stylists. I picked Becky to do my hair and went in with a few photos of hair cuts and colors I wanted. Becky explained to me what she would do to my hair and gave me some alternatives to the hairstyles I originally wanted. She was nice and talked me through the process during dying, cutting, and styling.
Long story short, after cutting 8 inches and dying my hair a dark brown shade, I can now say that I am completely satisfied with my trip to Rumors. I love my short hair and have already gotten so many compliments on it! I feel more mature and it is so much more low maintenance. Thanks Becky! You’re the best! I’m definitely making Rumors my regular salon here in Arizona.
