Saturday night and this place was empty. I didn’t realize from the reviews and photos that this is basically just a sports bar. Frankly there wasn’t enough cheese on any of our food. But the cook on the meat was good and the flavors were creative enough to keep me happy. We were on the patio but went inside because the cars driving by were so loud. There was no music inside, just the TVs with sports. When we had called, they told us they didn’t have happy hour on saturdays but when we arrived they said it was just about to end so we couldn’t order any happy hour drinks. No attempt to rush an order in for us. Not to mention we would have come earlier if we knew it was an option. There was 10 bucks wasted. Not planning on going back.

We came here on a Saturday night and didn’t even have a wait! My boyfriend ordered 3 of the different sliders on the menu, one of them being the seasonal item and the shoestring fries. He loved it all! I had the regular sized turkey burger and it was top 3 best burgers I’ve had. The grilled pineapple was great on it: P Their ranch dressing is amazing too! Really good on the fries. Good food and no wait during dinner time on a Saturday!

This place is incredible. The burgers are heavenly. Fresh ingredients, unexpected flavor pairings, knowledgeable friendly staff, and an excellent beer selection. This place is an American style tapas place. Try multiple sliders or get just one large burger. I suggest the Buffalo and the lamb. The sweet potato fries are also fantastic. This place is great!

The burgers are very small, so I would recommend getting more than one but try multiple kinds! I got the fried chicken burger and a side of fries… My friends tried almost each burger on the menu and no one had a complaint!

All the burgers come in slider form so that way you can try more than one, perfect for people that are indecisive when looking at a menu! I got the turkey slider and the shrimp po boy, both delicious but the shrimp had a little too much breaking. The service was excellent as well, my mother didn’t realize that the ahi came raw on her salad and the waiter had no problem asking the kitchen to cook it through. Definitely going back!

It was my first time here. Awesome place if you’re looking to eat some very well put together burgers definitely«designer burgers» I had the short rib and shrimp boy the short rib was my favorite out of the two but the shrimp po boy was great as well I did create my own burger I created a classic beef onion straws bacon lettuce tomato Caramelized onion Bery juicy didn’t have to put mayo on it or anything on it. If it’s your first time you definitely have to try the short rib filled with so much flavor I should have ordered 3 of them definetly must try. My waiter was nice and friendly you walk in you see three flat screens playing a sports game there’s a full bar. Great spot for kids or even if you and your friends want to grab a bite to eat the portion sizes are like a slider but a little bit bigger than a slider … Haha if that makes sense they come in 3 oz or 6 oz(hope that helps) if you’re ever in the Scottsdale area stop by Stax!

Delicious!!! Great ambiance. We sat outside surrounded by lit trees with a heater to keep us warm. Wine was quite good and not overly priced. Our server was friendly with just the right balance of care and leaving us alone to talk. We had three sliders and the wedge salad, which they split for us to share. The sliders were the special burger, elk with peach jam and a cheese; the buffalo; and the spicy fried chicken. They were all outstanding! Truly delicious meal. We would definitely return!

Came with a friend on vaca &LOVEIT! We shared 3 sliders(The Ahi, The Spicy Fried Chicken & an Elk build-your-own), the Caprese salad with Ahi & sweet potato fries. The aioli’s for dipping are so good! My fav was the chipotle! The Caprese salad is amazeballs! The spicy chicken fried slider & the sweet potato fries are to die for! So. Good! Bonus: the waitstaff RULES too!

What a wonderful experience…6 of us from Kansas City came in to watch game 2 of the ALCS between the Royals and blue jays and eat/drink. The hospitality was above and beyond. Chris attended to our every need for over 3 hours. Every dish we had was so yummy. Short rib slider, lamb slider, dry rubbed spicy wings, sweet potato fries, caprese salad, smothered tots, Moscow mules, craft beer… need I say more? Don’t miss this place!

I’ve been to this place multiple times for lunch and it never disappoints. The service has always been great, the guys I’ve encountered have funny personalities and attentive. The food has always been delicious. The ahi slider is something I’ve never had anywhere else and was cooked to perfection. The curly fries are also super good, and definitely needs to be shared with another person to finish. Will be back soon!

We sampled a bunch of food, but the best thing was probably the efficient waitress service. Here we go: Basically skip the extras and choose sliders wisely. Spinach Artichoke Dip — kind of a spinachy mess with huge strands of spinach in an odd colored cheese sauce that did not end up tasting too great. Only $ 5, but poor quality. Loaded tater Tots — it looks pretty, but was pretty much a standard order of tots topped with some kind of brown meat gravy and sour cream. 6 bucks. Sliders — The traditional beef was the best with onions and cooked well done as per our request. The beer battered shrimp was a major disaster as the breading fell off the shrimp to reveal an undercooked piece of shrimp. The hort rib slider was loaded with decent meat, but nothing that was included on the sandwich gave this any taste or punch. Did have my first Mule drink and that was good for $ 7. Watch out for the waitress/bartender though, she has a way of making you order something that your on the fence for and that is a compliment, along with her excellent service.

Nice service, tasty food(try the smothered tots) and the burgers were cooked nicely. Not for the health conscious but a nice diversion for a Friday afternoon sneak out.

I have driven by Stax for years, but it looked hard to access and the name didn’t intrigue me enough to stop. On Monday, I set out to broaden my food options and decided to explore Happy Hour at Stax. I arrived at 3:30 and decided to sit at the bar, although the seating in general was pretty inviting. The weather was lovely, so everything was opened up to the outdoors. The location is a little unfortunate in terms of the views, so the bar was perfect for me. Happy Hour was a little confusing, with no happy hour menu in print or on display. You just have to try to remember what the staff tells you. That isn’t my strength, so I had to ask several times before ordering. None of the food that I had a taste for was available for happy hour prices but I was happy to pay regular prices to satisfy my tastes. The happy hour house made sangria, however, was a great deal. I couldn’t decide on red or white, so the staff suggested ½ and ½, which is apparently a popular choice. It was a GREAT suggestion, and I really enjoyed the complexity of the flavors in the combination. I will be having it again! My food arrived fairly quickly, and was delicious. I had the Wagyu(aka Kobe) and the Ahi sliders. What I loved about their concept was that I could try more than one type of slider thanks to the smaller portions. I could still only eat two, and they weren’t cheap by any means, but I really enjoyed the variety. I considered having a salad, but passed since I had eaten a large lunch and didn’t have room, but I would like to try the Caprese salad and the Southwest Chopped salad. I’d also like to return to try several of the $ 3 sliders on the Happy Hour menu.

Cute little corner. To be honest, Stax is being overshadowed by the overrated The Breakfast Club. I think the restaurant is legit. Good food at a reasonable price, great specials. Love their tots! You have to try both of the original and the sweet potato tots to share. Then order a 3oz burger and that’s good food portion right there. Décor, ambience is great. They can improve on the service a bit, it’s a little slow, so watch out if you’re in a hurry. I will come back again :)

Hello yummy burger goddess! I think I finally went to burger and Tatter tot heaven. I ordered their original 3oz burger and it was like a party in my mouth. The Tatter tots were so crispy and cooked to perfection. They also came with a variety of dipping sauces. My hot plus one ordered the short rib burger and wants to come back for more. If you are looking for burger perfection, then this will be your go to place! I can’t wait to come back and try more burgers on their menu!

Overpriced, slow service, and disgusting food. The concept is good, sliders made from different types of meat, including exotic animals, but the execution is poor.‘ The bartender asked if I’d been there before and when I said that I had not, he explained the concept and left me with the menu… for a good ten minutes. True, I hadn’t been there before, but how long does it take to decide on a choice of sliders. I’ve had the same concept at food trucks and am able to make a decision. I’d think that he got busy, but later I overheard him telling a server that a different table was composed of repeat customers so they wouldn’t need as long to order. Heck, if Chino Bandido can explain a much more complicated menu in less than 5 minutes, I’m pretty sure people can figure out what type of burger they want. I ordered three sliders, buffalo, beef, and the exotic meat of the day, ostrich. I also ordered a side of sweet potato tater tots. Then I waited… and waited. Eventually, the tater tots arrived… in a serving that was far too big for one person. I ate some of them while waiting for my main course. Finally the sliders arrived. The buffalo slider was far and away the best. Although as anyone who’s been to Carl’s Jr knows, practically any burger can be good when its slathered in barbeque sauce and topped with an onion ring. The beef burger was just meh, no better than you would find in any other burger place. But the ostrich slider was absolutely disgusting. The meat was bitter and tasted overcooked. I’ve had ostrich before and never had this type of reaction… it almost made me throw up. When the bartender noticed that I was done, he set my bill down saying that way I wouldn’t be waiting on him… which would have been great except that it took him a good 10 minutes to pick it up and run my credit card. Also, lunch for one person, with three sliders, tater tots, and a soda came out to $ 26. Seriously, for ONEPERSON??? Don’t waste your time here. Sorry, Stax, but you don’t stack up to the competition.

The sweet potato fries are dangerous. I could have eaten 3 baskets of those. This was a nice small burger spot situated in the heart of Scottsdale on Scottsdale road just a short walk from my hotel. I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed the Wagyo, lamb, and duck sliders. I also enjoyed their IPA beer selection and tried their peach ale which was refreshing and tasted pretty good. If you are looking for a good burger spot with a good selection of beers definitely check out Stax Burger Bistro.
