Top Nails

I got a pedicure here yesterday and it was perfect. I made an appointment earlier in the day, but they do take walk-​ins. The place was clean and the people were very friendly. If you have really callused feet (like me) get the Pamper Me Pedi, you get extra callus treatment and it is totally worth it. My feet are summer-​ready now! Top Nails is close to my office, so I’ll be coming in regularly from now on.

Very rude. I went to Top Nail as it is right by my house, I asked if they take walk ins. The answer I got was «we’re very busy!» I didn’t ask if they were busy, I asked if walk ins were welcomed and apparently not. They must also be too busy to give me a fill and take my money. I will just stay with my current salon and not bother Top Nail. Should have taken my daughters advice when she said, «Top Nail is not good!» 20 years in business must mean you can turn customers away.

The name says it all, top tails, top notch service! When you walk into most other nail salons, the staff members more likely will speak in their native tongue which makes it very uncomfortable. At top nails, the ladies are personable and make me feel like a million dollr; hence, I feel I can come here and relax. They talk stories with you and are not shy to make recommendations as what colors to get if you are unsure. I usually get gel and it is worth every penny because it last longer. The spa chair massage is definitely a bonus. The parking is great, I recommend making appointments because you don’t have to wait as long. I love the 20+ years in business, which makes them trustworthy.

I love this salon. I always see Lynn she does pure gel nails with a tip. Hard to find a place that does them and she does a great job! The entire staff are sweet and welcoming.

Awesome color selections for both regular and gel polish. Very friendly and attentive workers. Vicky, Crystal, and Tammie are all amazing and being detail oriented and always does an great job.

LOVE TOP NAILS! I moved to Scottsdale over 20 years ago and asked a local where to go for a good mani/​pedi and she sent me to Nina (the owner at that time) at Top Nails. All these years later, that’s where I still go. I get my eyebrows done with Nina, and my manicures with Vicky. They are friendly, professional, pay close attention to detail, and keep a very clean salon. I have NEVER had an issue with fungus; I have never had to wait more than a few minutes. They do honor walk-​ins, but not at the expense of their regularly scheduled clients like so many salons often do. They keep up with new styles, trends and products, and offer a wide variety of services. I receive compliments on my nails all the time, and I always tell them to see Vicky at Top Nails. There’s nowhere better you can go! They even often a student discount now too (and although I am no longer a student, I think that’s a really nice thing to do). If I could give them 6 starts, I would!

I don’t get my nails done very often, but this is now my go-​to place. They are all extremely nice and do a great job. I have a skin condition that makes my nails not grow — or they are gone all together. Meghan was patient and understanding and made them turn out great! The place is clean and professional — and best of all, they speak English. I’ve gone too many places where they speak another language and it’s quite uncomfortable.

I’ve been a client for about 12 years and am 100% devoted to this professionally-​run salon! Every technician who works here is experienced, dedicated, accommodating, sweet, extremely knowledgeable and fun to be with!!! The people that work here are nice, but they did not do a great job on an acrylic set (appt. #1) or the fill (appt. #2, 2 weeks later). Within about 2 days, the acrylic was already lifting and water was getting underneath (which then turns green — yuck). I did get my toes done there (gel) and they did a good job with that — it lasted quite awhile. Overall, if you need acrylics — I’d recommend some place else. If you need gel or a standard mani/​pedi — I think you’ll be ok. Also, I would suggest making an appointment if you can. (So… 2 stars for my acrylic experience, but 4 stars for my gel-​toe experience.)

Found Top Nails during a walk after dining on protein pancakes one Friday morning at US Egg nearby. Thought I’d try saving a few dollars since I get a gel mani every two weeks, and a gel mani/​regular pedi every six weeks. The cons to the savings are that there are only a few nail artists and a small number of massaging pedicure stations (five to eight?), whereas the previous salon I went to has easily four times the number of available artists on a Friday morning. Another con is that because the space here is smaller than other salons I frequented, the number of bottles of polish on display, and these are the regular nail polishes (not gel), is limited. For gel colors, you must refer to the color wheels in the basket on the table in front of the wall display of regular nail polishes. These are labeled by brand and number. If you can’t find your favorite colors, any of the artists are happy to take what info you can give them so that the manager/​owner may locate the colors for future visits.
I’ve only had Tammie work on my nails, and I’ve patronized three times thus far– two Friday mornings and one Friday afternoon. (I recommend scheduling a morning appointment, as you will get the full treatment.) Her sister and mom* have helped to wrap my nails with acetone while Tammie was busy with other customers before, but Tammie is the only one who’s applied the base, colors, and top coats. She’s very pleasant to converse with. I will say that this is the first Asian-​dominated salon (I’ve spotted an African-​American nail artist working here) I’ve been to that employs nail artists that speak English well! (Not just perfect grammar, but with Americanized accents. I hope I haven’t offended anyone by pointing this out?) I have lived and worked alongside Asians from many cultures, so I am able to understand most of the spoken, and sometimes broken, English I hear (yes, I’ve heard Filipinos speak English with an accent, and sometimes I’m told I do too, especially when I’m speaking with family and friends in Tagalog and then have to switch to English– it’s normal) and I can tolerate to hear MOST languages and dialects when others are speaking amongst themselves, but if you’re sensitive to nail artists/​techs that choose to speak to each other in their native tongues while working on you, then perhaps this Top Nails salon is a good fit for you!
FYI, my latest color palette is OPI Red gel (has been for all three visits) on eight nails and Cuccio #38 gel (gold glitter on metallic gold– gorgeous!!) on ring finger nails for accent. I’m thinking all gold nails for my next visit!
*I asked Tammie if this is a family-​run salon, and I gathered that it isn’t. Will try to get more info.

Service is mediocre and the people there are very rude. Stay away. Too many other good nail places around.

Great place. Very clean and friendly. They try and accomodate everyone who walks in and they do not make you feel rushed. Much better than most places in the Scottsdale/​Shea area.

The people who work here are mostly family and are absolutely the sweetest and best nail professionals in the valley. The salon is always clean and has a vey good vibe.
Vicky and Tammy are my absolute favorites. They give great manicures and pedicures and have really worked with my fragile nails to make the polish last and keep my nails from peeling.
