We had a bridal shower at this venue this past weekend. The food was delicious! The server, as well as the manager on duty, were so helpful to us. I would highly recommend using this venue for anyone planning a party! Thank you for the great service that you provided!

I’ve tried a lot of beers and every time I come here I manage to try a new one. To me that’s awesome. Same goes for the food. The sides and flatbreads are all fantastic. Such a great feel too. It’s a great bar to sit at, but the restaurant section is also nice to sit down and hang out in. Really nice place, upscale but with decent prices and a local feel.

After discovering everything closes in Scranton on a Sunday, we were more than delighted to have a quick lunch at Ale Mary. We weren’t expecting anything spectacular from a bar. I wish I could comment on the alcohol, but I’m not your person. Food was actually really decent. We ordered salads expecting them to be disgusting, but they turned out to be quite tasty. Sure they are not your fancy $ 15 to-go salads New Yorkers consume for lunch with baby kale and quinoa, but it was yummy regardless. We also ordered the duck cheesesteak, which was delicious and perhaps the highlight of the meal. We expected the duck to be extremely fatty, but it wasn’t. The chicken flatbread was tasty as well. Service was there. Overall, we are just thankful to have find something that is actually open!

This is probably my wife’s and I favorite place to go relax, have a good bite to eat, and have a drink. The atmosphere is inviting, relaxing and spacious with plenty of seating, and tvs. They have so many beer choices that I’d take me a day or two to list them all, and they’re always running some sort of specials. The best part about this place is the food. The food is always excellent and they serve some creative unique dishes you don’t typical find in the area. Last but not least, the prices are also very reasonable. Only downfall is the parking, but who cares. Definitely worth your visit. Possibly the best place to go for meal and drink in downtown Scranton.

I hate the overhyped beer scene as of recent but this place truly had a great selection that seemed well thought-out. I only get to drink beer on very special occasions so I got a flight and discovered a new favorite beer in the Flanders Red Ale. Thanks, Ale Mary’s! I ate a salad that was pretty boring but it’s my fault for ordering a salad at a gastropub. My friend ordered a fried chicken sandwich on some sort of waffle bread and said it was amazing, so I will trust her on that!

Early dinner was thoroughly enjoyable. Bourbon Bacon wings were fantastic. They use large wings as, at one point, I thought I was eating a drum stick. Delicious sauce. My wife really enjoyed the French Onion soup. Only complaint was the Pork Belly BLT could have used more belly. There was a wee more bread than filling. Otherwise I can’t wait to return.

Ate here on a random weeknight while visiting Scranton. We had zero complaints! Food was not only phenomenal but came out in a very timely manner. All of the waitstaff was friendly and welcoming. Also has a very impressive craft beer list! Will definitely be coming back here to eat and would recommend anyone to eat here.

NOLONGWINDEDREVIEWHERE! If you are reading this get up and just go! On our way back to MD from NY we stopped here and WOW, just WOW. This place satisfied any and every craving three grown a$$ men could’ve ever imagined. Surf n Turf Cheesesteak, Pork Belly BLT, BBQ Short Rib/Gouda Mac n Cheese Sandwich, Gyro Nachos, Wings and Dumpster Fries. Only regret is having eaten here and not being able to come back anytime soon since we live over 3 hours away. Staff was awesome and it was clear they love what they do. This place is the real deal.

Big and spacious. I love loud music but theirs is always too loud. One singer with a guitar is defening. The staff hustles and is quite helpful. During the World Cup the energy was surreal. Nice beer selection and open spacious bar seating.

Great place to hang out with friends or to watch a game. The food is really good especially the dumpster fries which change daily. Food and drinks are decently priced and there is lots of seating. The inside is very spacious and they have a side room for parties or other events. The staff is really nice and mostly knowledgeable about the different beers they sell. They have a Facebook page which they update often but I do wish they would update it every day with their specials and dumpster fries of the day to check it out before getting there. Also, sometimes the service is a little slow. They don’t have a large selections of salads, and as a person with dietary restrictions, that’s an important part of a menu I always check first. I also wish they had brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. But overall, it’s a fun place to hang out.

Food was amazing and the staff were super accommodating. We will definitely stop by here again whenever we’re traveling through. The short rib chili, potato & cheese gnocchi and deep fried bacon were to DIE for…

Foremost, we visited Ale Mary’s as a result of the strong reviews of its cuisine. As it would seem, «the emperor has no clothes.» Foremost, the service was warm and competent. Likewise, the environment was clean and entirely under-control(which is not always the case in sports bars). Now, as other reviewers have pointed out, it does have a hipster vibe(mustaches, penny-farthings on the shirts, over-priced mediocre food, etc.). I only wish the music reflected this … maybe a little more alternative and a little less jam-band. Let’s begin with the tomato bisque. As you can see in the photo provided, the chives were chopped considerably too«rustic»(translation: they were crazy, awkwardly large). However, the grilled cheese croutons were lovely and the soup nuanced. The fondue. I enjoyed the crudités as a healthy diversion from the pita bread and pretzels. However, the fondue itself was gritty and the flavor profile cluttered with far too many ingredients. We left that one nearly untouched. The fries. Soggy. Really, really, really disappointingly soggy.(As is also noted by other reviewers here). They, also remained nearly untouched. The grilled cheese sliders. As a vegetarian, I don’t love my food being cooked directly next to meat. I do not mind them being cooked on the same grill(that’s reality). My sliders arrived with caramelized onions stuck all over the bottom … apparently, these were remnants of my boyfriend’s sliders(meat-version). I scraped them off(yuck); nonetheless, the sliders tasted like onions. Obviously, this is problematic when one is dealing with the subtle notes of cheese. So, all three of those also remained on the plate by the meal’s conclusion. Regular sliders. The report from my better-half was that the bread was disproportionately heavy in comparison to the actual meat. Needless to say, his fries also remained in his little basket. For this area, the place was«almost okay.»(Which is why it seems that a lot of people seem a bit«too impressed» with average but interesting food … or they were too inebriated to notice the fine details that are overlooked). In fact, it was exciting to see a menu with some serious innovation. I think that if the execution were slightly better, this place could be a definite gem. I hope to revisit this establishment in a few months and update this report with all positives!

Found Ale Marys as a result of not having enough tv reception at our cabin to watch the US women’s world cup game vs. China, so we looked to see where the Outlaw supporters met, and figured it must be a fun place to watch a game. 9 tv’s certainly proved sufficient, the crowd somewhat enthusiastic, and the gastro pub quite good! I can’t attest to the bar selections or prices, but the menu was interesting, in some cases, beyond my desire to explore. But our order of arichoke dip, chili, tomato bisque, grilled cheese sliders, and wings was ample, and there were 50% off deals during happy hour and during the game to boot. Our waitress was most amiciabe, and kept our non-alcoholic drinks filled. Tab came to $ 40 for three. I’d say this pub will be a mainstay in Scranton for some time. I’d go back in a heartbeat. Go USA!

My girlfriend and I love this place. We always start with a bowl of French onion soup which is the best in the area. If you love wings the house sauce is my favorite. You can also enjoy the buffalo chicken flatbread which uses the same sauce. All I can say is yummy! The staff is great! Check out their unique specials, worth trying. Recommend: French onion soup Flat breads — short ribs or buffalo chicken Buffalo fried calamari salad(only available on specials once a while!!!)

This is a really nice beer-bar with some creative and tasty pub food. The beer list is longer than Noam Chomsky’s vocabulary with a nice collection of about 12 draft beers. The bar is clean, has high ceilings, and is outfitted with plenty of nice TVs. They have a sweet touch tunes jukebox as well. I believe that you can download the touch tunes app for embarrassment free Cyndi Lauper jamming. Onto the food. I’d define it as good, maybe great creative pub food. We had the dumpster fries which was a huge bed of crispy curly fries topped with shredded roast beef and awesome cheese sauce to start. Very very good. Our other food consisted of 2 orders of wings and an order of sliders. Wings: We had to try the PB&J wings which were successful as a concept, but kind of failed as a dish. To be more specific, the flavors actually worked! They worked well, but honestly after 1 or 2 you’re going to be done because the peanut butter sauce is simply so rich and And plentiful that you can’t enjoy more than a couple. The original(maybe house?) wings were also pretty good. The waitress told us that the cook wouldn’t tell anyone how to make the sauce. They were good, but certainly weren’t that good. Ultimately they were sweeter than I prefer a standard hot wing. Sliders We had the parmageddon sliders(chicken) which are essentially chicken parm sandwiches. They’re damn good, and much larger than you’d expect a slider to be. They were served with the sweet potato fries and marshmallow fluff sauce. All good stuff, but I thought the marinara was a bit sweet. When you add up all of our food, the only thing that was truly savory were the dumpster fries. Perhaps shame on us for ordering like we did, but the entire meal was sweet, which I don’t typically prefer. That aside, great place. Great service. I didn’t mention the live music which was also quite good. I would go back but would order more carefully next time.

Great food, great service, great atmosphere! My mom and I were on a trip down to Harrisburg, PA so I took it upon myself to Unilocal for good food along the way. I picked this place out specifically for their unique spin on traditional American dishes and we were not disappointed! It was later at night on a Thursday so parking wasn’t a problem. Upon entering we were greated by the host. Being from New York, we were actually surprised by how kind and welcoming their staff was. For being a week night, there was a nice crowd but it wasn’t too busy; we were seated immediately. I’m guessing there was a college nearby because most customers seemed to be on the younger side. The establishment itself was very cozy with plenty of room and two bars; not at all what I was expecting for a dive bar. The atmosphere was very friendly and comfortable. To be honest, what drew me to this place was the peanut butter and jelly wings. I am a huge wing lover and since they sounded unique and had good reviews I was eager to try them. Looking over the menu they have a lot of great sounding foods for a gastropub. We began with the Monte Cristo Eggrolls. Delicious. For $ 8, we received two decently sized eggrolls. It was turkey, pork and cheese fried in and eggroll wrapper with raspberry framboise(jelly) on the side. The mixture of ingredients was amazing. The turkey was on the dry side but dipping it in the framboise counteracted that. I loved the salty and sweet mix although I think I would have preferred mustard, personally, but that would defeat the purpose of the Monte Cristo theme. I would highly recommend this dish nonetheless. The food did seem a little rushed since our«entrees» came out while we were still eating our eggrolls but that didn’t bother us. Of course we ordered the Peanut Butter and Jelly Wings, but we also ordered the Duck Cheesesteak Sliders and decided to split both. I was hesitant as the wings came out, you could definitely smell the peanut butter, but upon trying them we were very pleased. They were cooked perfectly. They were crispy on the outside, they tasted like they were fried in fresh oil, and they were juicy and meaty on the inside. Once again, I loved the balance of sweet and salty. They had a spicy Thai peanut butter sauce(basically spicy peanut butter), raspberry framboise and cayenne peanuts on top. I ended up adding more framboise to cut on the dense flavors of the wing. They were definitely good with a little tolerable kick but they were very filling since it was protein on top of protein; I could only eat three. The marshmallow sauce tasted like marshmallow fluff: not my favorite and almost too sweet with everything else but my mom enjoyed it. I wasn’t crazy about the duck sliders but I think that has to do with personal taste preferences. It almost tasted like stuffing due to a strong sage flavor. The siracha sauce was sort of bland with a lot of spice and the sandwich was almost mushy. It needed crunch. Maybe fried onions would enhance it? The duck itself(I ended up picking out and eating) was moist and flavorful and the bread wasn’t bad but the overall flavor I wasn’t fond of. The sliders also came with a side of sweet potato fries which I found dipping them in the raspberry framboise made them even more delicious but they did get cold fast. Once again, I thought the marshmallow sauce was too much. The proportions were great for the price. The duck sliders were 3 for $ 10.50, but they were definitely bigger than sliders. I was full after barely finishing one with everything else I had. There were plenty of wings for $ 9.50 and they did not skimp on the sauce; a plus in my book. Overall, I am definitely coming back here. My brother is moving to Harrisburg so this will be a regular stopping place for me. I look forward to trying their other dishes in the future such as the cheesesteak eggrolls, reuben wontons, bacon tempura, and bourbon and bacon wings. The price was average and the service was wonderful. I would highly recommended this place to anyone who likes a tasty spin on comfort foods.

LOVE this place. Great find. Nice atmosphere, 2 full service bars, huge beer menu and a very interesting food menu. PB&J Hot wings with marshmallow dipping sauce WHAT? couldn’t in a million years dream up this combo but I’m now obsessed. The peanut butter is creamy and sweet, the raspberry(I think) jelly is sticky, sweet, and tart. There are chopped Sriracha roasted peanuts dusted on the outside and dipped in the marshmallow cream it’s an insane combo! Duck and aged gouda cheese steak sliders– with Carmelized onions and a nice smokey, creamy Sriracha sauce The duck is moist and full of flavor. the gouda has a nice strong flavor that combines nicely with the Sriracha. the bun is soft and warm. House fries with rosemary and other seasonings. this is a winning dish. So full of flavor. And as far as «slider» size is concerned, these are large sandwiches! my husband got the short rib cheese steak egg rolls. HUGE eggrolls, lots of flavor. Bourbon and bacon wings… BACON!!! Need I say more? These had crumbled bacon throughout and a nice sweet thick bourbon sauce. The wings themselves are giant. Havana Heart attack is a Cuban sandwich on crack! capicola, Breaded fried pickles and jalapeños made It look very appealing. Like mine, also huge, on soft warm ciabatta bread The service was super friendly and informed. Food came out quick. Love love this spot. Will definitely return.
