Extremely disappointed w this place of business — called for price to have daughters skis mounted(considered mounting them myself but not confident enough since they are her skis). Was told since they didn’t have to drill it so was considered a binding test cost $ 10. Sounds very reasonable — Took skis in on way to Montage Mountain — spoke w guy at register and explained what they quoted me on phone — he took skis back and had bindings mounted and handed them back to me and said it was going to be $ 60… Pointed to pricing chart on wall. Pushed back on him the the older man and guy from the back said if I could tell them the name of the person I spoke w on the phone then they would honor it. If not its $ 60. Faced w dilemma of paying and have daughter ski or telling them to jam it and have them dismount(which I had lost all faith in them already) and go find somewhere else — so I very begrudgingly paid the $ 60 — lacks so much in business acumen or goodwill — basically telling me that I’m lying if I didn’t have a name and didn’t offer any consolation in pricing disagreement. 6 skiers in this family you’ve lost and if asked I’ll be recommending alternatives — good riddance shack won’t step foot on your property again. If I could give no stars I would.

I went to Bear Creek to demo a pair of skis recently. The selection is about 6 or 7 pairs, none of which are very good or right for the local mountain. Maybe of I was in fresh powder they would have worked, but not on a little hill on the East coast. The guy who helped me was unpleasant and was too busy yelling at the other worker, the retail person I guess and the customers about which door to use to really give me any real customer service. The skis I got for the demo price of $ 45 stunk and I felt ripped off. My wife needed gloves, a helmet and goggles that we happily paid more for at the shop at Montage. The person I returned the skis to was nice enough, but couldn’t really care less when I told him I didn’t like the skis.

Oh my gosh I cannot say enough good things about this place! After having a horrid experience at another local ski shop this was so refreshing. I have never owned my own pair of skis so I was kinda out of my element walking into Bear Creek. The man(Tyler) who helped me was so attentive. He was patient and helped me get everything I need for this upcoming ski season. Boots, skis, bindings, poles, I am set. I am grateful for the friendly service and for all the information he relayed to me. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

We came in before a day of skiing and found everything we needed at reasonable prices. The saleswoman was knowledgeable and quickly brought us what we needed, guessing our sizes and bringing alternative sizes in case she was wrong(she wasn’t). I thought stopping to get ski pants, gloves, etc would slow us down by about 40 minutes, but we were good to go within 15 minutes. I would definitely recommend this place.

Nice selection, reasonable prices, good service! Two in our group opted to rent equipment and it was all solid. If you plan on skiing at Montage Mountain this is a great place for you to check out.
