On Monday February 8th, We had the pleasure of having lunch at the Boulevard Diner at 1800 Boulevard Street in Scranton. An authentic Greek Diner, Boulevard opened in 2011 and has a big menu offering dishes ranging from waffles to omelettes, Greek pastries to cheesecake, homemade soups to healthy salads, and triple deckers to the Hungry Man Special(a breakfast dish consisting of two pancakes, two eggs and meat, potato and toast for $ 7.95) among many other platters and side orders. They also have a Greek Corner on their menu that includes: Gyro sandwiches and platters, Spinach Pie, Moussaka, and Pistachio all served with Greek Salad, and Homemade Dolmades(stuffed Grape Leaves.) For lunch I ordered the Open Faced Turkey sandwich(it’s my favorite meal to order at a diner) with a side of mashed potatoes from scratch, and green beans as well as a side salad. Holy Moly the size of the plate was huge! I was not let down. The waitress was impressed that I didn’t leave one drop of gravy on my plate. How could I? I always take on plates like that as a challenge; I always win. The meal runs $ 9.95 and is big enough to feed two people. We also ordered a mushroom, cheddar, and tomato omelette that was also big as our plate which is always awesome. The service at Boulevard Diner is quick, and the staff comes out and visits each table, a true mom and pop diner that feels like home! Both lunches were prepared owner, operator,& chef Antonios ‘Tony’ Kalyvas and his son Apostolis. The Boulevard Diner also delivers with limited distance($ 25 minimum outside of limits) which I think is very cool because I don’t think I have ever heard of a diner that delivers before. Go visit and let us know what you think and let them know who sent you. If you are a regular, what is your favorite dish? Hours of Operation Monday-Saturday 8:00 am — 8:00 pm and Sundays 8:00 am — 2:00 pm.

The best Greek food in the area, fantastic breakfasts, and the nicest owners/chefs and wait staff anywhere! If you’ve never been here before you’ve got to go! They just added a second room also, which makes it a little more roomy, while still keeping its homey feel. I had one of the grand opening specials. Soup, spinach pie, braised lamb shank and delicious Greek dessert were all incredible. But like I said above, what really makes it stand out is the ownership and the wait staff. They always make you feel like you’re at home and they are always professional at the same time. Don’t miss it!

One of my favorite spots in Scranton, I eat here 2 – 3 times a week there really hasn’t been anything I didn’t like from there menu. Meal portions are generous, daily specials are fresh, always something different on the menu.

In town for business, thought I’d stop by to grab a quick breakfast. I was itching for a diner style breakfast, so I saw this place on Unilocal and I thought I’d give it a try. Small diner with some parking in the front. About 12 tables. Greek influenced, which generously produces some of the best diners. I decided on the chocolate chip and banana pancakes, with a side of bacon. Coffee and a small«shot glass» of juice is included. Unfortunately the juice is from a container keep in the front fridge, same with other juices. I guess I was expecting fresh orange juice, but that’s ok! Free refills on the coffee too. Food came out hella fast! Almost too fast judging by the bacon, which tasted good but not crispy enough to me. I generally don’t eat my chocolate chip pancakes with syrup because it’s too rich, and I followed that tradition today as well since I felt the banana chunks would sweeten it up as well. I was right, they were mighty sweet enough. Pancakes were huge, couldn’t finish all 3. It’s your standard diner. If you’re not looking to be blown away, and if you want to be in and out, go here with confidence.

The service is very good here, the food is fresh and tastes good. I especially liked the chicken gyro. However the spanakopita was a bit flavorless and flat like a pancake. A nice neighborhood place to stop for a quick bite but not a place to out of your way for.

Great little diner. Has regular American fare — but also Mediterranean foods. Grape leaves, Great lentil soup and great wraps. Baklava for dessert is a must.

On Sunday July 26, we had breakfast at Boulevard Diner. It is a small restaurant, but does have a small parking lot in front with sufficient parking for a car for each table. They have a variety of omelettes available, as well as corned beef hash and Taylor ham(I presume this is pork roll, I did not ask). They also have a gyro omelette on the menu. Breakfast came with coffee and a small juice(a 4 or 6 oz orange, cranberry or tomato). The coffee was good and so was my spinach and feta omelette with home fries. My husband said that his corned beef and Swiss omelette was good(extra charge for cheese $ 1.00 for any omelettes in which it is not listed as and ingredient). We both thought the russet home fries were tasty(although I would have liked them even better if they were a little more crisp). Toast was included and my husband had the rye. We enjoyed the meal and the total was under $ 16.00 + tip for two of us. The service was very good and coffee refills were readily offered. With this said, if you are accustomed to the portion sizes at NJ diners and leave 1⁄3 of your breakfast behind, this will not likely be the case at Boulevard Diner. I almost never finish my home fries and my omelette, but today, I cleaned my plate. Overall it was a good meal and a good value. I would call me back if I am ever back in Scranton.

It’s a diner with some Greek dishes. The food is plentiful, if uninspired. I had lamb shank with orzo and lemon potatoes. The lemon potatoes were quite good. The lamb shank was old, dried out and not warmed up enough. The salad which came with the meal was iceberg lettuce, tasteless tomatoes,(the rule of winter, I know) with a tasteless balsamic vinaigrette. Hard to make tasteless vinaigrette, but they managed. Service was excellent and friendly. Food is cheap, so you get what you pay for. Not a gem in the rough.

The gyro plate was delectable, and the ham/Swiss/apple panini special will probably be featured in my dreams for years to come! Charming little place, and as an added bonus, I’m pretty sure we spotted Weird Al Yankovich leaving as we were being seated!!! Highly recommended!

Don’t judge a book by its cover. What began as a Subway years ago is now the location of the Boulevard Diner. The diner serves typical diner fare with the addition of Greek specialities. The staff is very friendly and the food is consistently good.

Read the review on this place so I thought I would try it. When you first enter you you are greeted by a friendly staff it seems to be family run business. The menu was a little different than most other diners meaning that it has some Greek foods on it also this is one of the reason I chose this diner so and any way I started with the lobster bisque soup and a gyro. Well the soup was alright not the kind of lobster bisque I’m use to eating at first look I thought it had lots of lobster in it but I think it was more like imitation crab meat and also some kind of flour dumpling so it wasn’t horrible but would not order it again. Now for the gyro I enjoyed it very much it was made with fresh ingredients and the lamb was delicious this I would again over all I enjoy this place good food friendly staff and fresh food I will be back again

This is hands down the best little diner in Scranton! As other reviewers have noted, it doesn’t look like much from the outside, but take it from an original Jersey girl, this diner is the best. Their breakfasts are perfection(make sure to try an omelet!) and the staff are always super friendly. If you go in there often enough, they learn your order and really make an effort to get to know you(as all good waitstaff should!) Their lunches and dinners are a little on the pricey side for a diner, but worth every penny. Especially if you’re ordering off of their Greek menu. The owner, Tony, definitely knows what he’s doing. Make it a point to stop into the Boulevard Diner next time you’re in the area.

Great little diner that also serves authentic Greek food. Breakfast food is good(love their fluffy pancakes) but I go here when Im in the mood for Greek as their aren’t many options for Greek food around. Gyro, chicken gryo, greek salad, spinach pie, — all are delicious! They also have greek desserts including galaktoboureko which is equally delicious. Super friendly staff, fast service, nice owner who came over to see how our dinner was. Definitely recommend this place if you’re in the mood for quick diner food in a much cleaner, more pleasant dinning experience than some of the other diners in town.

This place doesn’t look like much from the outside. Although when you walk in, your are greeted by friendly, fun staff and the aroma of great food coming from the kitchen. This place is definitely set apart from the other diners in the area as far as quality of food and options. You can get anything from homemade style Greek cuisine, to just about any American dish you can think of. Also, I’ve just noticed they serve some finer Italian dishes as well such as «chicken francese», but I haven’t tried it yet. Do stop in here and get something… You won’t be disappointed! I suggest a gyro
