I’ve never had a bad meal here. Today was a quick lunch stop and I picked the turkey club. It was delicious. Staff is always courteous and they get to you quickly. A staple of downtown Scranton.

This is by far one of my fav places to go for lunch! Big selections of salads and hoagies! Clean, up to date setting! Staff is inviting if u get the right waitress. But I can never complain because the food is so good! My favorite thing to eat is a hoagie called the god father! It has some very delicious deli meats on there, then they add roasted red peppers with their homemade balsamic dressing! I could eat it every day!

The food here was very disappointing. It’s totally overpriced and our meals were disgusting. I went here on a whim with my two kids because my son had an appointment in the area. They ordered the sweet cream pancakes(3 of them cost $ 7.00) I had them split it and I ordered the Western omelette. The kids didn’t even finish the pancakes they were so poorly made. My children eat everything! My son was horribly sick to his stomach after leaving which made things even worse. My omelette was pathetic. Ridiculously small and overcooked yet the veggies inside were raw. The home fries were so salty that I had to ask for another order. The second order was equally as salty and disgusting. Needless to say I didn’t eat it. At this point I could tell the waitress was annoyed at me and I didn’t want to cause a scene but I honestly would have walked out of there if I wasn’t a decent person. An orange juice is $ 2.75(prices were NOT on the menu) and my son and daughter didn’t even get their cup completely filled. The atmosphere here is lovely but that’s about all I can say. Whoever is cooking here needs to get a new profession. $ 22.00 down the drain… Should have just gone to Dunkin Donuts. ****just to update, I did try calling the manager but did not get a hold of him until Tuesday the following week. He appreciated my call and said that he would try to make things right by giving us a gift certificate towards a further purchase. I appreciate the willingness to make my next experience better.

I like the food very much. It is a little more expensive than some places but it’s worth it to me. I never ate inside I always get take out so I can not judge the staff fully, as for the girls at the counter they are friendly.

Love this place. Some of my favorites are: chilli with a grilled corn muffin; breakfast all day; along with their paninis — which are usually specials. Great spot.

Charming little place in a charming little city. Stopped here on a recommendation while passing through the area. No wild stories to tell here, just tales of good food and friendly employees. I enjoyed the grilled chicken in a sun dried tomato wrap. Love that they give a few different wrap options, I wish more places did the same. My lady enjoyed a speciality sandwich, the Electric City(I think), and enjoyed it. She also took our server’s recommendation and enjoyed a Reese’s Pieces cookie for dessert. She made the right choice :) Speaking of our server, she was, as I said before, very friendly. She kept the coffee flowing and took the time to chat with us a bit. She complimented the deli’s laid back atmosphere. Which, of course, brings us to the deli itself. It’s nicely decorated and VERY spacious. There are lots of big windows, which allow you to take in the town around you. Just a great, relaxing vibe. I definitely enjoyed my time here. If I ever find my way back to Scranton, it will be difficult to convince myself to eat anywhere else.

Everything is good. I don’t know how anyone could complain about the quality or price. Everything I’ve ever had was good and the portions are big. I may have had everything on the menu! It’s also really clean and bright on the inside. Yes sometimes it’s busy but that’s at times you’d expect… noon on a weekday, right after church on Sunday, etc.

Average all around, but pretty bad when it gets busy. JJ McNally’s is much better.

Stopped by early Sunday afternoon after a disaster with another area restaurant. We were seated and attended to right away. Waitstaff was pleasant and accommodating. Food was reasonably priced and good! Breakfast served all day, bonus! Would certainly come back.

We went to downtown deli for brunch on a Sunday. A little pricy for what it is but the food was good and staff was nice. French toast is to die for. They served the french toast with mascarpone and fresh strawberries. Make sure you get the French toast if it’s on the menu. It was their special so I’m assuming it comes and goes. I also got the breakfast burrito and was more than satisfied. We live right around the corner so this was convenient and tasty.

Let me be clear food is really good. I have eaten lunch here once a week since they opened and left happy every time. Went to breakfast today and ordered a nice breakfast and ordered a large orange juice. Bill comes and this large orange juice was $ 5.75. I laughed and said to the waitress that there is something wrong with their computer pricing on this OJ. She said nope that’s our price. This business not only lost my occasional breakfast business but has now lost a weekly lunch crowd of 5 – 8 people by overcharging for something so silly. Got owner later in day and said that they were charging that price over winter but meant to lower price to $ 3.75. This is still crazy to me. Sad to see this one go on the no go list in downtown Scranton. Running out of options.

My first time at DT Deli, I may return when in the area. Had the pastrami with Swiss with kraut, but yellow mustard… seriously? I thought this was a deli. My companions had a turkey Ruben and a corned beef. Sandwiches were made with great rye and came with very good macaroni salad. We split an order of hand cut fries which were very good. My only complaint was that we were given a paper with daily specials and another with new menu additions, but without pricing. When I asked the waitress, she didn’t have a clue and had go ask a manager. So why even put prices on the main menu? WTF? The lox and bagels special was $ 13 today. Once burned, twice shy; I will never order a «special» unless I know the price, but I am never shy to ask. A ridiculous policy by an owner who I can only assume wants to pull one over on his customers, the expense account lawyers from across the street perhaps? Maybe I will try Abe’s next time. Oh, and the iced tea is not real brewed, it’s instant. C’mon!

The service was awful. The food was good. We were never greeted when the waitress came to the table. It seemed she was more interested in conversating with her colleagues as opposed to tending to her customers. I had to ask for silverware & refills. The waitress also took down one of our orders wrong then blamed us for ordering it wrong! Will not be back…

People go here to be seen not to get good food. The menu on their website is different from the one in the store. So expect to pay more then you see on the website. This is just too overpriced for the same meat and cheese you get at a gas station. But lawyers and bushiness people like to take and send clients here because to them the dollar amount on the bill is more impressive then the taste of the food. Not a good place for the everyday man or woman to visit.

The food is good and I’ve always had good service there. The place is clean and well taken care of. My only complaint is that the prices have gone up significantly in the last 6 months. Spending $ 15 for a carry out lunch in downtown Scranton is expensive. Especially when we’re talking about a burger and fries, before any tip. NYC, Philly, not really an issue. Scranton? I’m not so sure that will work. We’ve already started walking up the block a few more.

Overall a great meal was had by our entire party. Macaroni salad on the side was the best part of the meal but the portion was small. Sandwiches are large and could be split if appetite is normal. They do close at 4 not 5!

If I lived in Scranton and worked downtown then this would be my deli. It was very nice inside and very welcoming. It is located near the Steamtown mall with accessible parking at meters or for free in the parking garage with the mall. They serve breakfast all day long but I think they are only open till 3 pm at least on Saturday. I ordered the Mount Blanc and the wifer ordered a club. We got the pipsqueak a pancake. All in all, it came out to be about $ 18 The Mount Blanc is a Roast Beef, swiss, and Au Jou dip. I had never ordered this before and it was decent. They had plenty of roast beef to cover the entire sandwich. I would have like a little more cheese on mine. I think adding mushrooms would have made this perfect. My wife’s club was packed with turkey and substantial amount of everything. She was very pleased with hers. The Pancake-wow– I could come back hear and order the pancake as they were pretty good without butter or syrup. Good service in a nice atmosphere makes this a welcome stop in Scranton. This isn’t too far off of 81 either for the traveler going through needing lunch.

I stopped in this deli on my way to the bus station to get a quick to-go breakfast. It’s super nice inside and everyone is friendly. I was on my back to NYC(where I live now) but I grew up in scranton. Its so nice to see such a nice place right in downtown scranton. You can tell whoever owns it, outs alot of love into the place. Regarding the food, they did mess up my order(which may have been my fault but I honestly don’t remember) However, the quickly fixed it and I was on my way in no time. i think it would be best to order off the menu and not try and make any special order like I did. I always have to be difficult!!! This would be a fab place to go with a bunch of friends for brunch /lunch. A must try !
