Coffee is always fresh along with pastries and food in the case. One of the more reasonably priced places in the city. Staff is very friendly also.

Decent espresso beverages, loved the cozy vibe and plenty of seatings with a few boardgames. Great for sitting down for reading/chatting/working. Saw their sign outside«join the dark side(dark roast)» a week after Star Wars VII’s first showing, pretty funny. Convenient location. I always got latte but would try their other food/drink items next time!

Coffee here is a little too strong. It’s like Starbucks coffee! I usually just get tea there. not overly friendly but most coffee shops are all the same

This place is always a solid choice for a great coffee, latte and/or lunch. Vegetarian friendly, too! Always love the staff and it’s a relaxing non-Starbucks atmosphere. They even have a frequent buyer card.

Great coffee spot across from the courthouse. On my first try, I had the organic chai with soy. It was delicious & not as sweet as regular chai tea. Today, I had the white pomegranate tea. Also, an excellent choice if you’re looking for a caffeinated but non-green or black tea option. The café has free wifi and a nice relaxed vibe. Great place to get some work done on my lap top. Definitely recommend.

I just came here to have an espresso and I liked it! I am italian and it is not easy to find a good espresso like this in the United States. The place is nice and I think I will be going back there many other times.

I’ve been to many cafes and coffee joints from NYC to Phoenix and this is in the top three. Hands down. Not only is the ambiance open and warm, the staff is no-BS and seem to really care about what they do. With free wifi, fans that refresh the room with cool air, and light music, this is my #1 grading /reading spot in PA. Oh, and the capps are absolutely bomb. You can put them up against any in the game(aside from 4&20 Blackbirds in Brooklyn). Camille took care of us and is as pleasant of a barista/person can be. The cookies are dangerous, btw. I can’t wait to be back.

Espresso drinks are the best in town– always consistent. Friendly staff and owners. Wide variety of hot and cold drinks, numerous teas, and homemade sweets. The cookies are amazing.

The coffee is OK nothing to really brag about. I am currently sitting outside at 7:26 in the morning in the blistering heat. The two girls that are working«snubbed» me as I was walking in the building saying in a rude tone«we aren’t open» This is not my first time coming here. The other gentleman that work behind the counters seem put off and bothered by their job. The yogurt is my favorite. The first time it was a raspberry blend and when I asked the women whAt kind of blend it was the second time she said I on early have no idea it’s just yogurt and some type of smoothie stuff. WOW real professional. Well as I sit out here in the blistering heat the two employees that were outside smoking in front of the building go in. Now wouldn’t you tell everyone who is sweating profusely waiting to go in that you were open now? No! They still did not, I went in grabbed my coffee and was shunned basically because I didn’t get coffee. The atmosphere is very calming, I’m almost sleeping as I’m writing this here. The lighting is so so could be a bit brighter. Difficult to read my book. All in all I won’t be using this as a hang out spot. I’ll get my over priced yogurt $ 4.50 a pop and go.

Nice coffee shop in an otherwise sad little downtown area. There always seems to be a decent crowd here. The pastries are hit or miss, maybe it depends on the time of day. Plenty of space to stretch out and enjoy a cup of your favorite hot caffeinated beverage.

Wanted to try this place but they don’t have almond milk. Someone in my party has a soy and lactose allergy. I said something and they weren’t very kind in their response«we can’t carry it all.» Ok, dude, just providing feedback as to why I’m walking out. Off to Zummo’s…they have bigger coolers, I guess.

I am a Starbucks fan and gold card holder so to rate another coffee shop high is rare. Fast friendly service and consistent product taste are important an NL gets it done. Plenty of seating and reading material.

In town for work and needed to kill some time before my flight. This was a great coffee shop. Loved the atmosphere, style of the place and music. They have wifi and comfortable seating if you planning to spend a few hours there. I had a cup of tea and a bowl of soup. The had a really nice selection of pre made sandwiches and salad. The vegetarian chili soup I had was so good. I really enjoy finding places like this when I’m on the road. Quaint, quiet, relaxing and great food & drink options.

I’ve only been to Northern Light a few times, as my daily routine does not take me near central Scranton. I was very happy when I was nearby and decided to stop by for a coffee! It was super cozy and had a nice atmosphere when I walked in. However, I was extremely disappointed to find that they only had two kinds of coffee, LOTS of tea though. I was also annoyed when one of the men behind the counter gave me an attitude whenever I had a question. I am Big on good customer service and this place does not have it. I daresay the local Starbucks baristas at least give you a friendly Hello when you walk through the door! If you like warm, cozy, cute cafes, with plenty of tea but not so much coffee or personal warmth, this is the place for you. If you’re not a tea totaler and have an aversion to rude baristas, then this is not the place for you.

I camped out here for a ‘work from home’ day. Excellent, polite service and very good espresso. Plenty of tables/seats as well. They have standard 2 and 4 top tables, 2 couches and an upstairs seating area.

This place is in Scranton. SCRANTON. They have a Keys Van Der Weston Mirage. in S.C.R.A.N.T.O.N. Yea, that Scranton. Anyways, this place was a delightful, much needed stop during a 16 hour drive from Chattanooga to Syracuse. I had a slammin’ shot of their house espresso blend that left me keyed up for the rest of the drive, but just incase I walked out with a cup of their drip as well. The café itself had a nice aesthetic, clean with plenty of natural light. I little cluttered but still a solid place to hang for a minute if you’re ever unfortunate enough to find yourself stuck in Scranton. I’d definitely stop back in, although hopefully I wont be making that drive again anytime soon. Brutal.
