I really wanted to try this place with my boyfriend. We stopped in and the host said there might be an hour wait. We left but the host took my number down just in case and called us 20 minutes later for an open table. He was so grateful that we actually came back. Really friendly too! The staff and service was very good, even with a full house. I had the roasted chicken with potatoes and spinach. It was very good I have nothing negative to say! It was almost pan seared on the bone. My boyfriend got the strip steak. It came with their homemade fries which were like potato chips. It was different but good! I will be back!

Loved everything about this place. The food, the ambiance, the staff. Everything was great. Can’t believe it took me so long to hear about this place. It had never popped up on Unilocal before last night so I thought it must be a new place. Not the case. It’s been there 5 years. I’ve missed out on 5 years of great food. I will definitely be going back.

Wow I was there last night! The place was packed to capacity and I was hungry. I was able to get a seat and have dinner. I had the Chicken Francais which was cooked to perfection! Moist and tender chicken with capers. Side of roasted potatoes. Yum! The waitress was attentive and kind and helpful. Fantastic music by a band called The Joni Project featuring Joni Mitchel’s Music. I mean nobody has that! I really enjoyed my night and will be back for more! Oh and the desert I had was the flour less chocolate cake… wowser that was great!

Great menu and excellent execution. The whole branzino is my favorite. Lobster roll sliders are excellent. Good service. Nice atmosphere. But really it’s mostly about the food.

We’ve been coming here for at least a year and are so happy when the weather warms up enough to eat outside. It is pleasant and the outdoor setting is charming and never buggy. The food is consistent. The butter presentation is my favorite and i’ve stole for my own table. roasted garlic, butter and olive oil together. The salads are great. Beet and arugula. Caesar, garden salad with blue cheese and excellent tomatoes, onions. I always have the salmon and i ask for it rare. The hamburger and waffle fries are the best. The grilled scallops, delicious, crispy with white beans and string beans. Service is fairly descent for Long Island though sometimes the staff gets distracted. The owner Bill Long is usually there and keeps the patrons happy.

A little way out for those who don’t live on the north shore, metropolitan bistro offers an extensive list of appetizers and entrees for even the fussiest of people. I had the ribs as an appetizer and it was delicious. The Long Island duck followed, and as to be expected, it too was cooked to perfection. A great, intimate setting in sea cliff. A must try!

Came across this hidden gem while searching for a small quaint place to dine with my girlfriend. I’m so glad I stumbled on this one! Starting with the décor and comfortable seating then move on to the specialty drinks. Mojitos perfectly mixed. We ordered the French onion soup which was delicious and hot as it should be with plenty of cheese and onions. Next was the appetizer of filet mignon sliders. Wow they were amazing!!! Perfectly spiced and fresh! Main course we had gnocchi and chicken franchese. The Chicken was absolutely spectacular. Best I’ve ever had and could of eaten a second serving. Opted for desert and had a poached pear and cheesecake with some hot tea. A perfect ending to a perfect dinner. We will certainly be back and may make it a monthly visit.

I really liked this place. Service was prompt and attentive. The food was really good. We had the crab cakes and Greek salad special app. I would’ve liked more than one small crab cake in the app for $ 12 but what was there was delicious. Two of my friends ordered the burger and it is really good. The roast chicken is also good, very moist. I had the steak which was not the best of the entrees. The flourless chocolate cake was alright but I think they should serve it with ice cream instead of whipped cream. Overall, it was a really good dining experience and I would definitely go back.

Everything was quite good. Nice atmosphere, friendly and competent wait staff. We had the duck and the sliced steak. Both were terrific. The menu entre prices at first look are on the cheap side, but they are small portions. You still walk out feeling full but there is a method here for keeping the prices in the low to mid 20s and still making a profit. A chicken dish was a quarter rather than a half for example. The sliced steak was 4 pieces. I didn’t have a problem with it, but I was aware of it. The bistro salad and beluga lentil salad were quite good. A nice not so off the rack blend of ingredients. For desert we ordered the flour free chocolate cake and were comped the cheese cake. Both were very good. Drinks were well made and they did not spare on the alcohol. All and all quite good! We are from another part of Long Island so we are not that familiar with Sea Cliff. It is super quaint! Looks like every building on Main St. is circa 1880. Our waiter recommended we walk to a park to see a great sunset after our meal. The view was spectacular! Long Island Sound from up high. We then walked back through town and found a place called Stills or something like that and they had great live music for only $ 5 cover. A really nice night. The only negative was a town cop gave me a parking ticket for parking on the wrong side of the street(facing the wrong way, driver’s side by the curb). I found that a little abusive, and unnecessary. At least it was only $ 35.

This is a great neighborhood restaurant. The energy and atmosphere are great, the owners are wonderful and the wait staff is great as well. They have music several nights a week and the food is good too. We enjoy going here whether it’s for dinner or just drinks and music.

Loved this place. Loved the atmosphere, live music on a Thursday evening and especially the rainforest tilapia! Nice selection of fish! Perfect night out with my girlfriends and would be just as perfect for a date night with my husband.

We had a great experience here. I loved how open the space was from the outside to the inside. It was raining when we went, but the ambiance was so nice and cozy. Our waitress and the rest of the staff was very pleasant. We started with the french onion soup and I had a the apple/bleu cheese salad(can’t remember the name). The french onion soup was fantastic and I was super jealous I hadn’t ordered it! For our entrees, my date had the sirloin which was very good. The thin-cut fries that they do here are delicious as well. The steak had a bbq type sauce which I wasn’t so wild about, but he loved it. I had the tilapia and couscous which was excellent.

My husband and I have been here several times and we have always had a great meal. MB makes the best caeser salad I have ever had. The dressing is extraordinary and the lettuce is always crisp and fresh. We also shared the mussels– very nice broth and a good portion. The duck in ginger sauce with cashews is an entrée I highly recommend! They make fantastic french fries too. Our server was great. Great place for a nice night out!

Have been here a number of times and have always walked away a happy customer. Prices are a little on the big end but worth it. Start with the soup special, work in the cold and have a tart for dessert.

Tried this place out last night by recommendation from the front desk at the Glen Cove Mansion. We ordered a bunch of appetizers to start. The grilled shrimp was really good, it was drizzled in some kind of peppercorn mayonnaise? So good, but there were only 4 shrimps. The crabcake was okay and the hummus plate was good. They were out of three or four things on the menu and the menu isn’t very big so that kind of stunk. I would’ve given this 3 stars if it weren’t for the BURGER. The«fancy» burger is really good and the homemade fries that come with it are delicious too. The portions are a bit small so we ordered one more thing, the Pasta Pappardella. The pasta was okay, but we wouldn’t get it again. Their burger was the best burger I’ve had in a long time. I will be posting a pic of it too :)

Tupelo II. They really could have done more to create a more original restaurant. When we were seated the waitress informed us that the entrees are«European size». I guess European size translates to incredibly small. The food was excellent. Excellent and expensive. And there’s something so wrong about leaving a restaurant hungry, ESPECIALLY after dropping a large nut there.

I just had to review this place especially after dining here 3 times already. MB is a modern but casual restaurant hidden in a side street in the quaint town of Sea Cliff. The food here is savory and comforting! What I love is that they offer a simple but diverse menu– enough to satisfy any palate. I would describe their dishes as New American with Mediterranean and even Asian influences. I’ve had the mussels in a white wine garlic broth(special of the day app). It was a healthy portion of mussels and the broth was addicting. not too salty and just the right balance of butter and wine. The roasted chicken is one of my faves. It’s a breast of chicken roasted and then sauteed in chicken confit. Simple but savory. If you like sweet flavors, I highly recommend the Long Island Duck in a ginger-orange sauce. The duck is tender and cashews add a nice crunchy texture. The wine list is pretty decent, The waiter was very knowledgable and even gave us some flights to try while deciding on a bottle! Happy to have found a place to frequent when visiting Long Island!

Nice! Formerly the location of Tupelo Honey, the owners of the Metropolitan in Glen Cove have opened a fantastic bistro that ought to be the place to hit this winter. The layout is more or less the same but the interior has been redone to get rid a lot of the artsy décor of the previous establishment. The result is very nice. A great place to bring a date. The open kitchen and oven are still there and it is nice to watch the chef turn out the amazing food that they are serving up there. I had duck that was done to perfection. The apps and sides were all fresh and perfectly cooked. The bar serves wine in tumblers which is very refreshing, particularly in the land of snobbiness that the north shore can be at times. The wine list was comprehensive and the bartender was a champ. Save room for desert since they are all homemade and amazing. Parking on the street.
