First time I’ve eaten here but it will not be the last. The place is great with the added outdoor dining, pier and outside bar and the views from outside and inside of Clear Lake are nice. The salad bar has the good stuff on it and the garbanzo beans were delicious. The food was just over the top, authentic Italian; the veal was outstanding as were the perfectly seared scallops. Service was great, the prices in line and about the same as a popular Italian food chain restaurant. We will be back!

I came here for our office Christmas party. I had previously been here years ago and do not recall it being anything spectacular, and this recent visit confirmed what I remembered. The food is super bland, and here’s the thing, I don’t use salt so for me to say something is bland is the freakin’ truth. I was also annoyed that I was enjoying my champs and the waitress took it while I wasn’t looking, and I was not done with it! So I got a freebie because of that. The best thing about this place is honestly the view of Clear Lake. If it wasn’t for that, it would be just another subpar place in the area.

It’s not very often that I give a restaurant 5 stars. I guess it’s because I’m too picky and usually something goes wrong and it ruins the experience. I was shocked by this place and thus I must give it the highest rating. I have been to Italy on many occasions. I even worked in the kitchen in a restaurant in the Veneto region of Italy. Because of this, I never eat out for Italian because what I make at home is always better. We decided to try this place and I did not have high hopes. When you first walk in, it feels like you have walked into someone’s house. It is a little dark and there is an entrance that feels like a hallway. Then the restaurant opens up in the dining area. I read a previous review about some ding bat who can’t ever find the front door. I don’t see how that is possible. We were sat promptly and we ordered a carafe of the house Chianti. Looking around, the décor is simple and reminiscent of Italy. The view out on the water is lovely. The house wine was delivered, as was a basket of garlic bread. The wine was very nice, especially for a house wine. The bread was phenomenal for lack of a better word. Crispy on the outside and a nice buttery garlic on top. We were treated by one of the owners who was very friendly and has a thick Italian accent. We ordered and we directed to the salad bar. It is a simple salad bar, but that does not mean that it is not good! Anyone who has been to Italy knows that salads there are often simple. The star of this salad bar is the homemade Italian dressing. Fantastic! We had nothing negative about the salad bar. Our appetizer soon arrived. We ordered the fried calamari. We found it to be perfect. Not too much breading and had a wonderful flavor. The marinara sauce that comes with it has just the right bite. The calamari was not overly tough and seemed pretty fresh. We enjoyed it immensely and ate it all. Soon, our main dishes arrived. We had the baked lasagna and a pasta dish with marinara. Most places would use the same marinara as the dip for the calamari, but this one was different. It had more of a lemon/garlic flavor. The pasta was perfectly cooked al dente. The lasagna was dynamite. Great amounts of cheese and the Bolognese was seasoned perfectly. The portions were huge and we each took a box home with left overs. For dessert, we had cannolis. These were exquisite. Beautiful homemade shells stuffed with flavorful, sweet filling. I loved these. It was a nice end of the dinner. When the check came, so did the shots of limoncello! They were so nice to offer that to us on the house. It was awesome! Overall, this is one of the most authentic Italian dinners I have had outside of Italy. I think most of the people who wrote poor reviews must think of Olive Garden as real Italian. If that is your idea of Italian food, this place is not for you. This is not Americanized at all. The only thing I may have to comment negative on is that it is a little on the pricey side. If they lowered the cost just a bit, I would be here every single week. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want authentic Italian food such as that found in Italy.

so this place. i really want to like this place. i live practically across the street. i just can’t. the food is mediocre at best. the quality is just not there – reminiscent of frenchie’s, but not the same. the salad bar is depressing and of questionable food safety. prices are high. the restaurant layout is weird and even though i’ve been here before, i can never find the front door. you have to walk past the kitchen, which always has it’s doors open and the radio blasting. Last week we accidentally walked in on a private party in their side building. whoops. guess some labels on the doors would have been useful. the view is excellent, though, which is why i salvage 2 stars. A sunset glass of wine here is excellent. wine, only. sorry villa capri, i really wanted our relationship to be better.

Simply fantastic. From start to finish. Wonderful atmosphere, and food alike. Went in a large group on Sunday evening, and our waitress was top notch! Food was sublime, and the off menu snapper was to die for. The owners welcome you as their own, and make you feel like family. I normally don’t write reviews, but felt compelled to, as this place is beautiful! I think I may make a reservation for the Boat parade too!!! Ciao Bella!

Loved the salad bar. The tiramisu and Italian cream cake were awesome with coffee. The spaghetti and meatballs… I won’t get it again. The sauce was a little thin… I like a thick, robust tomato sauce, and this just didn’t cut it. I will try something else next time. I like the ambiance, would love to sit outside on the patio on a cool fall or spring day.

I want to like this place so bad! But after eating here last weekend for Sunday brunch, I am sad to say that I can’t justify spending money here again. Just like many places with beautiful views, the food falls mighty short(see the Oasis in Austin). This was a huge surprise for me as I love and adore Frenchie’s, owned by the same family. I had a wonderful graduation party at their event space, Casa Maria, and was hoping the restaurant would bring us some of the same, but sadly it wasn’t. Granted, I only had a Caesar Salad(dry chicken, dressing too tangy, huge pieces of lettuce) but I did get a chance to try some Eggplant Parmesan and brisket and sadly, nothing was impressive. Even the minestrone was farmstyle but very bland. Our water glasses were never filled, the orange juice is the cheap sugary drink, not actual OJ, and it took us 25 minutes to get bread! Eggplant parmesan was cheesy but very greasy and underseasoned. I also think they need to knock about $ 5 off everything on the menu. I will probably come back for the ambiance and the views, but I will probably eat before and sip on some wine instead.

The view is nice the salad bar is good, the food good. It has the feel of family owned and operated(I believe that is because it is actually). The ambiance is nice, both romantic as well as a good place for a family meal; great location for a wedding by the way. And, on Wednesday evening you can watch the sailboats race while you enjoy a meal or drink. We would recommend and we will return.

Nice and quiet dining with fabulous background music. Beautiful location with a nicely landscaped outdoor area to dine or to just enjoy after dinner as you walk on the dock over the water. Enjoyed an old fashioned salad bar! My lamb was very delicious! Surprisingly good tiramisu. Great service! The fifth star could have been awarded with better bread and olive oil for the bread. I will return because the veranda was so lovely for the evening meal. I wish I could give it 4.5 stars!

The worst service, server did not speak English, food was really greasy. When I spoke to the Manger about my wife’s dinner was told oh well. Oh well I will not go back and will tell others to stay out of this place… really nasty

I was a little skeptical about this place just because of the look of the outside. Drove into the parking lot to be greeted by complimentary valet parking. Walked in the restaurant and it was quite elegant with a beautiful view of the water with wonderful landscaped scenery. The menu was very well put together and very Italian. The waiter was excellent and the food was very good and reasonably priced. This is a wonderful place to go to and I definitely recommend the Garlicky Escargot.

We were celebrating a special occasion for our mother this evening. We made reservations for 6:30 pm. It took 1 ½ hours for our meals to be serviced. We are offerd many lame explanations for the long delay. Finally when our food arrived our meals were warm. we mentioned it to our waitress, an apology was offered. We asked to speak to the manager(who was the owner). He offered to comp 2 desserts for 5 people. We will never go back again. What a horrible experience.

I actually quite enjoy this place. Fantastic view, great food. However, I called ahead to make sure I could bring my dog. No problem they say. I arrive, get my table, and ask again about the dog. «As long as he’s taken around the patio» no problem! Get seated and two different staff members confront me saying it’s «against health code». I make them aware I called. Another staff member comes out and tells me it’s against health code. A bit upset, I make them aware they need to educate their entire staff to be on the same page. As I walk out, their kitchen door is wide open, leading to the outside. So all the bugs and critters by the water can get in the kitchen, but I can’t have my dog on the patio? Very disappointed.

If you are looking for great authentic Italian food with a unique atmosphere you should try this place. Our server Alex was super friendly with perfect suggestions. We also met Dawn and David working at the bar. The entire staff was a fun group. We even met the owner. She’s been in America for 23 years and still has the strongest Italian accent. We loved to listen to her speak. We will for sure be back. Oh I almost forgot this place has a beautiful view of the lake.

The Good: Nice View, that’s about it. The Bad: Everything else. Ordered and old fashion, it was pretty bad. They clearly did not have the ingredients or know how to make it. We ordered bruschetta as an appetizer the bread was burnt and(I never thought I’d say this) there was to much garlic. My veal parm tasted like it was fresh out the microwave, my silverware bent trying to cut it. Prices were completely out of line with quality. If you have kids I would stay away I went with my family and they did not have a children’s menu for my 5 year old nephew.

We had my mom’s birthday here last night and can I just say how awesome everyone at Villa Capri was to me and all of the guests? 1) Amy the event coordinator was great! She kept me up to date with all the little details and made sure everything I requested was ready and set up when I arrived to start decorating. 2) David our waiter for the evening was AMAZING! He kept everything organized and everyone’s glasses full :-) He made sure everyone was waited on promptly and he even helped coordinate the surprise part of the party that way the birthday girl was 100% surprised when she walked in! 3) The owners were so sweet! They even helped serve the food for our party! My nephew is a picky eater so they actually made him a different dish than what was on the prepared menu and let me tell you he LOVED it! He ate everything off of his plate and even went to find the owner to thank him for the wonderful steak he prepared. 4) I never knew that Villa Capri had ‘Casa Mia’ the private dining room that you can reserve for private parties. It was a perfect size for the party and we had access to the deck outside where we had a great view of the water and the sunset. What a wonderful party we had! My mom had the best time she’s ever had and I have to thank the staff and Villa Capri for making sure her party went smoothly.

I came here knowing the patio view was beautiful. We went for the Sunday brunch buffet at $ 19.95 a person. The buffet consisted of two slabs of meet, pork chops, and beef. There were other sides, which had mashed potatoes, ricotta stuffed shells, veggies(smothered in butter) and many other stuff along with they’re own salad bar and a dessert table. None of the items had labels so you don’t know why you’re getting and if you like something then you can’t tell others what it was. I believe this place is overpriced for their food. The main reason I do enjoy going here is because of the patio. I believe if this restaurant did not have the location it has now then it would not do well on food alone and would probably be forced to shut down. Also, the waitress we had was very nice and wonderful but it seemed as if she was the only one. We barely could get we attention unless we waived her down or something because she was too busy with everyone else. Other than that, I’ll stick to this brunch place if I am ever in the area for a weekend or something but inner city Houston will always have the best brunch spots. P. S. Can someone tell me the proper etiquette on tipping for a buffet when the waiter just brings you out water? I left a 15% tip on our total bill of $ 44. Honestly didn’t feel like I should of because I got up to get my own things. I could of gotten my own drinks if I could.

On Wednesday evenings at 6pm they have a great view of boat races. Wonderful patio view and great dinner. I ordered shrimp. My companion ordered surf and turf. Everything was prepared to our liking. Nice salad bar. Great date place! And great view!

Fun place, I love sitting outside when weather permits. It’s definitely preferable to Mario’s if you’re in Seabrook and need some pasta.

As I walked the door the first impression was not good. The place really needs a new rug and a paint job. There was no one to greet me so I walked to the back of the restaurant. Then, I immediately understood why our friends love to meet there for brunch. The place is full of French windows the looks in to the bay and has also tables in the outside garden and it’s just very nice. The buffet for the brunch had lamb, meat, an omelet station, salad bar a dessert station and plenty of plates with pasta. Almost all the plates had shrimp so the options for me were kind of limited but everyone said it was delicious. The owner manned the omelet station and was extremely friendly. Once the check arrived it was extremely reasonable. You get what you pay for.
