I like to shop the local businesses whenever I can but Allied reinforced the reason others wind up at the big box stores. I purchased 2 bags of paver sand($ 20 each) and realized a few days later that I only needed one, so I returned the other. The sales guy points to the handmade sign on the wall stating ALL returns are charged a 20% restocking fee so it’ll cost me $ 4 to return one bag of sand and for them to walk it to the pallet and throw it on top. After I said«Even on a bag of sand?!» he just pointed over his shoulder and said nothing. So I decided NOT to purchase the other item I was intending to buy and will stop by Lowes/Home Depot tomorrow. «Restocking» charges may be applicable to some large items, but don’t screw the customer just to make a buck or to discourage returns — it also discourages repeat purchases.

Rude, unconcerned and dismissive toward their customers. Even when I was sold the wrong color siding and brought it back, they couldn’t have cared less. They acted as if they are we’re doing me a favor just acknowledging I was waiting, forget about answering questions! Do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere!

never again will deal with Allied in Seaford, NY. Unprofessional, rude and do not know their items. ordered a firepit from them. The manager said it comes in brown or blue so we said brown. Surprise surprise it comes in and it is mostly blue with a very little bit of tan in it. went back to allied to show him the nicolock catalog and of course there are 3 color options not 2, the 3rd being the brown we wanted. Tried to exchange it for the correct color we wanted and of course the manager was so rude and would not help us out at all. I would never use them again. Very poor customer service.

The follicly challenged senior behind the counter epitomizes the salty old-timer who’s ready to pack it in. He doesn’t have time for you if you have a few questions for a «custom» job, irregardless if you can do a better job than some of some of the so-called professional licensed hacks out there. He’s the type of guy who rolls his eyes at you like The«Real Housewives of New Jersey» do. The Hicksville office was much more helpful and got me the product immediately without whining.
