Came here for late Sunday lunch with family and was not impressed. Service was off, the waitress tried but she seems distracted like the rest of the staff. The fried calamari was fresh but bland. The fried captains platter was greasy and dry. The lobster roll was good but upset my stomach for days. The lobster Tartufo was good to start and later caused my mother to feel noxious. Not sure what it was but the food made 3 of us sick for a few days. Table was not even served bread, 2? dishes had to be returned due to stains and dirt. The waitress used her hand to wipe the plate. Place looked clean but turned out the table and plates were not

Very good seafood… the Pancetta Shrimp was excellent. The service was good as well. Also, it was very nice that they handed out free Lobster Shack t-shirts to my children. The only drawbacks were that the bread was not good at all(table bread and hamburger bun), and everything was a little bit pricey.

After reading several poor to mediocre reviews on Unilocal it was with some trepidation when my wife and I suggested to four of our friends that we try this place. We arrived around 5 p.m. on Saturday and although the place is small and was around 75% occupied at the time it only took a few minutes for them to seat us. We were greeted by a jovial and knowledgeable waiter who gave us excellent service throughout our meal. All six of us were very happy with our food. We had steamers, scungilli, crabmeat cocktail and New England clam chowder for appetizers and Lobster Shack Fra Diavalo, surf and turf, branzino, shrimp scampi, and I had an amazing 2lb. broiled lobster for our entres. We all agreed that the food and service were close to perfection. The only negatives I found were the place is very, very noisy and prices seem a bit steep. Since the restaurant is small and they do not accept reservations you might have to wait during peak periods. We will definitely be back for more delicious seafood.

About a month ago: I submitted an earlier review. This is the response I got back from the owner in my messages. Greg G: This is greg the owner can you please give me a call. i would like to know why you would say i was trash talking people at the bar. . Dear Greg, I took out your number because I didn’t want people to call you but I have a great tip for you. Instead of focusing on your ego, you should focus on constructive feedback as an owner and re focusing on the quality of food!!!

Went with a friend for an early weeknight dinner and we were pleasantly surprised. Our waitress was wonderful and most of the food was incredible. The lobster stack, with lobster claw meat and roasted corn/avocado over baby greens was delish. You have to try the corn chowder, it is possibly the best i’ve ever had. But stay away from the lobster bisque, we had to send it back because it was like eating a mouthful of salt. Definitely worth a visit. I will be back with the family to check out the rest of the menu :)

Went today for lunch with my girlfriend. They had many specials and I saw someone with the lobster stack and chose that. The lobster tender and moist and a lot if it and the stack was delicious and kept me healthy. I would highly recommend. The Waiter John was very insightful and gave a personnel touch. It was so good I made lunch reservations for Mother’s Day. Great find today!

EXCELLENTFOOD… Had a scallop lunch … 2 entrees. 1 soup. 2 drinks. No coffee no dessert.$ 92 Much too pricey for a seafood location. Yes good food. Good service. But too expensive for lunch! But great food and service!

First time ate there had 1 ¼ lobster lunch special, shrimp balls, and fried cheesecake. Thought the seafood was quality, service was good. If in the area or looking for a new seafood restaurant and in mood for quality seafood I recommend.

Went to the lobster shack in seaford last night. Not good. I ordered the south shore lobster roll. The lobster was dried out soaked in butter. Was ehhhh But the worst part my wife ordered a dish and asked the waiter if it contains onions of any sort. She is very allergic. He said no. When her dish came it was covered. We sent it back while mine sat on the table getting cold. the owner comes over and said«so I hear you don’t like shallots» I said no she’s allergic to them and he laughed it off and walked away and that was the last we heard of him. Awful awful. Your chefs prepared a dish that contained something that a patron is allergic to after the waiter said it did not contain it and you laugh it off? Wouldn’t have been laughing when EMS showed up. Will never go back again. Seafood on Long Island is a dime a dozen Lobster Shack is nothing special.

Some of the reviews were poor or medioca. Not that great of a place. It took us 6 months before we decided to try it out. I’m mad because this restaurant was anything but fabulous. The wait staff was great. We laughed so many times with our waiter John. He made the night great. The food was delicious and the prices were not bad at all. I’m looking forward to going back again!

went on a Saturday evening at 6:15; we had a party of 4 and we were seated without a wait. The place really filled up while we were there. I didn’t go in with expectations, but I know my seafood-my partner is a fisherman. I am usually disappointed with fish popular local restaurants pass off as dinner. We live on Long Island– we’re on the water! There is no excuse to go into a restaurant situated on the water and receive a ‘refreshed’ piece of fish, a tired piece of fish, or fish that was obviously prepackaged. With that said, I really loved the food. We started with a fried calamari appetizer. It was better than most fried calamari I have tried in restaurants along the South Shore. It tasted soft and fresh. It wasn’t over seasoned. The only calamari I’ve tasted that was better was my partner’s homemade fresh calamari. We also had a Cesar salad, it’s just a salad, I know– but again, it was really delicious(try the croutons). I ordered the ahi tuna salad– it also was delicious! It came with this delicious avocado and mango salad topped with mandarin oranges and micro-greens. The ahi tuna tasted about average; I had it prepared medium rare. It was coated very lightly with sesame seeds. I personally would have preferred a bit of a heavier seasoning on the tuna– but I did enjoy it. The salad had a bit of a wasabi flavored sauce– a nice compliment to the ahi tuna. If I returned, I would definitely order this dish again. It was plenty for me to eat, I was so full, I could’t finish. My partner ordered a lobster. He said it was excellent. Our company ordered fried shrimp. The shrimp were huge. They really enjoyed it. I tasted a piece, but found it to be unremarkable. The portion sizes were not on the small side. I made sure to taste someone’s french fries, since I had read on this site that they were good– and they really were! I will be sure to order a side when I return to this restaurant. I also ordered a jelly ring martini. The martini I ordered was a little disappointing in size and flavor. With that said, there was sufficient alcohol in there– enough to give me a nice buzz. :) I’d definitely stay away from the jelly ring martini in the future though– the flavor kind of sucked. We also ordered a dessert– we ordered tartuffo, a dessert I’ve only tasted a few times at various restaurants. This was the best tartuffo I’d ever had, It came with this vanilla bean whipped cream– yum. It also came with a firecracker candle– this was a surprise from our waitress to celebrate a birthday!(Thank you) Our waitress was very good– she was attentive, we didn’t wait too long for our food, she kept coming to our table to check on us. The only critique I do have is the atmosphere. While the place is clean and decorated nicely, I’d love for their to be booths or sections here, it was super loud and really no privacy. All in all– I’m dying to return to have some more of their calamari!

The service was good. The food was okay, but lacking flavor and salt. I had the baked clams, pretty good. The crab cakes were not for me. The flavor was off and it was fishy and didn’t seem to have crab meat, more cracker or bread. The fries were really yummy, potato chip flavor with sea salt crystals. My guest didn’t enjoy the seafood bisque. The shrimp oreganata was missing flavor, but okay tasting. I expected to be wow’d.

I REALLY enjoyed this place, and was shocked to see the rating on here! My parents have been to this place about three times now and keep raving about it, so I finally got a chance to go with them this evening. The restaurant itself is very cute, and they did a really great job decorating for the holiday season. We showed up super early so we were the only one’s there when we arrived. We ordered the beet salad and the coconut shrimp to start. Both phenomenal. The salad was ice cold and refreshing, juicy orange slices. It would be a great salad to get in the summer. Coconut shrimp was amazing. Battered and extremely coconutty with a sweet dipping sauce. For dinner my dad got the pork rib eye, he did enjoy it but was not aware it was going to be as spicy as it was. It definitely has some kick! My dad doesn’t really eat spicy food. To me it wasn’t THAT hot, but the brown sauce it was in had great flavor and was absolutely delicious. My mother got the lobster tail which she absolutely loved. I got the king crab legs with butter dipping sauce. They were OUTSTANDING!!! The meat practically slid right out of their leg shells. At the end of the meal, our waitress Angelica asked us if we’d like an after dinner drink on the house. We got a couple Bailey’s on the rocks, and a glass of chambord. Extremely nice of management to offer this! The owner of Lobster Shack also stopped by our table to chat for a little bit and ask us how we liked the meal. Would not hesitate one second to go back to lobster shack. Great place, great vibes, friendly staff, personable owner, awesome food. We definitely needed a joint like this in the area! It’s not something you see around often. Place definitely gets packed though so if you show up for a later dinner, you might be in for a bit of a wait. And from what I understand, they don’t take reservations. By the time we left, almost all tables were taken.

Good low key Seafood place. Went here and tried the Baked Clams and a Lobster Roll. The clams were exceptional I’d say they are a must have, and the lobster roll was packed with meat and came with a side of really good fries. Lobster rolls took a little time but you can tell they made it all fresh. Our rating would be 7.5÷10 on a 10 point scale. Recommended.

Imagine our surprise when we arrived at the Lobster Shack and realized it took over the location from one of our favorite places The Phoenix !! Well once we got past the surprise we entered into a totally renovated venue, both inside and out! The dining room was bright and beachy themed and packed with happy patrons. We met Melissa, the Matre Des and chatted till we were seated a short time later. Their menu is primarily seafood with a nice mixture of Landlubber choices. They had a special 5 lb lobster for $ 99 which were all gone when we asked. They had a $ 251 ¼ lobster special and Stone Crab claws for a pirates treasure… Jumbo’s for $ 21/apiece !! They looked great at another table but no in my budget… There were 4 of us and we got for appys; Baked Clams… delicious but small, Wedge salad was a real hit with great bleu cheese and fresh crisp iceberg lettuce and 2 cups of their Lobster Bisque. could have used some chunks of lobster and a richer lobster taste. For our mains we ordered; 3 South Shore Lobster Rolls… these were served in a little dish with lobster drenched in garlic butter which needed to be poured into the toasted bun before eating… those that had it loved it but I would have chosen the Main Lobster Roll. more traditional preparation without all that butter. I, being different had their Fish and Chips which I really enjoyed… the fried filets were perfectly prepared and not greasy and their chips were large french fries cooked crisp. Everything that passed by our table while we ate looked good enough to order next time we visit! Their desserts are over the top. our table ordered one of their specialty sundays which more then was enough for the 3 takers with long spoons! Lobster Shack deserves the pleasure of your attendance and to be sure there is something for everyone. Just note no rezzys, the place closes at 11 on weekends and that arriving around 9:30 would pretty much guarantee no wait for a table. Go and enjoy! The Phoenix has flown away and Lobster shack now roosts in its place…

Shocked by all the negative reviews. The food was great; our table ordered 4 steamed lobsters and one lobster roll. The lobster roll wasn’t amazing but certainly filled with plenty of lobster. The stuffed artichoke appetizer was okay, but the baked clams were outstanding. The desserts were yummy too, and they have a nice selection of beers on tap for the season. Service was excellent, it was very busy and every table was filled(we were sat right away at about 5:30 on a Saturday night) but everything was served and cleaned up in a very timely fashion. The décor is cute and very nautical. The bar area is nice, for some reason reminds me of the little mermaid. There are plenty of great seafood spots on LI, but The Lobster Shack is a definitely a solid choice for a casual family friendly dinner.

Pretty but sadly disappointing. Lobster roll was served beautifully but was chewy, bland and basically tasteless. Not FRESH lobster meat at all. Hubby had fish and chips. No taste and translucent fish not hearty white. Fries were heavily salted and also tasteless. Sad, it could be a winner except for the food!
