Nice art and photography. I really enjoyed the old photographs of Long Beach and Seal Beach in the early 1900s.

«Make an offer» for a piece I’ve had my eye on for years? Oh hell yeah! If it’s the economy, a slim-down or a divorce that results in my getting«Palos Verdes Cove» for a song, I don’t care. I made an offer I thought the owner would laugh at but instead, he says«Fine». «Fine», now that’s «fine art» indeed. I bought it. No haggle. Art Images is a large gallery chock-full of mostly ocean interest, some whimsical, some high-end and, if you have any interest in the genre, I would recommend you head on down to Seal Beach and see what’s there. I fell in love with this painting some years ago but didn’t want to fork over the bucks for it until last night. You see, I learned to surf in this very cove and the memories it provides me more than compensates for the dollar value, especially when I can call the price. Every time I look into the painting, I see us kids sitting on longboards; breathing salty, sage-tinged ocean air and looking tiny in this magnificent natural bowl completely oblivious to any sign of the sea of humanity surrounding us. This may be Los Angeles but you’d never know it. This is a gallery that understands how the economy works… to my benefit. «Palos Verdes Cove» is a large piece(45“x30″) and all I have to do now is convince UCLA that its in their best interest to remove some medical equipment from the wall so I can mount it properly. It’ll look rad, especially with some down-lighting. Wall art, sculpture, carvings, metal mermaids, tall ships and drunken iron sailors sailing foul seas, it’s a sea-loving life to be found here. This is an art gallery that caters to the frugal and wealthy and those who understand what their money can buy in a belt-tightened economy. It doesn’t mean you have to go without.
