Brothers Coin Laundry

Clean affordable and love the fact that they open up as early as 6am and close by 10pm.

No frills here. I want to love this place but a few things are preventing it from happening.
First, the cleaning crew is extremely rude. I understand you wanting to leave early, but this is a business. They start cleaning at 8:30pm and if you stay pass 9:00, they will often pass by your machine and look at it. The rude lady stood in front of my dryer countless times and at 9:45, looked at me with a stern face and pointed at the clock. She spoke no English so I couldn’t communicate how my drying was done in 5 minutes (somehow she didn’t seem to notice the time left while staring at my machine) and no folding was necessary.
They keep this place relatively tidy but the chemicals they use are rather harsh. This crew will also be redundant and clean the same area over and over again around your area to encourage you to leave I suppose. Again, at 8:30, extremely rude and unnecessary.

Funny. Unilocal lists this place as Brothers Laundry. The signage outside just says Laundromat. The sign inside says Launderland. This place has an identity crisis or it’s been through multiple owners.
I’m on the fence about this place. It’s clean, bright, and plenty of machines. But it’s $ 1.75 wash and $.25 for 8 minutes dry. Pretty average I guess. This place is no frills. No wifi. Just a crappy TV stuck on one channel. And a liquor store a few doors down. There’s a McDonalds down the street, but I generally don’t like to leave my laundry unattended.
The main thing that kinda rubs me the wrong way is that the cleaning crew comes in so early. I like to do my laundry in the evenings. Last wash is at 9 pm and the place shuts down at 10 pm. I usually start my wash after 8:00 pm. The cleaning crew comes in between 8:00 and 8:30 pm and start doing their thing. Not a big deal. I understand they wanna get in and get out as soon as it’s closing time. But the problem is that they start taking out the trash, mopping the floors, and cleaning the machines during this time. They use some nasty ass chemicals to wipe down the machines and clean the floors. The fumes are pretty nauseating. And then about 30 minutes til closing, they kill most of the lights and you’re basically folding laundry in the dark.
So unless you enjoy doing your laundry in the dark, while breathing toxic fumes, and trying not to slip on the wet floors, I’d suggest coming in earlier during the day.
Tips:
— Make sure your folding table is clean before putting your clothes on it. The cleaning crew likes to use the tables to sort through the trash and pick out any recycleables. Ugh.
— Seems like most laundromat machines don’t have a rinse cycle where you can add your fabric softener. I’d suggest getting one of those Downey balls.
— And come during the daylight hours.

1.75 for basic washing machine, 3.50 for he triple load machine. 0.25 for 10 min on the dryer.
Decently clean. I’ve been at the laundromat close to closing, and employees do wipe down the outside of the machines, clean the inside as needed and clean the lint traps daily.
Large number of machines, I’ve never had to wait for one.
Other patrons are quiet and respectful as the previous review mentions.
There is a fair number of homeless in and around the store, but they rarely bother people. However, a lot of them like to smoke right outside one of the entrances. The smell is strong and filters in the store, which is something I never want to smell when folding my newly washed laundry.

I never thought I would ever be impressed enough by a laundromat to write a review. Well, Brothers Coin Laundry in Seal Beach is such a nice facility that it almost makes doing laundry, well, fun.
My perception of a laundromat is a small, stuffy storefront filled with half-​broken machines and stinky people that don’t speak a lick of English. Why does this image come to my head? Simply because that’s exactly what I used to experience back in my days of living in Gardena. Now, living near Seal Beach, I get the privilege of washing my threads in a sleepy beach community, and I couldn’t be happier.
It’s located in an inconspicuous strip mall along PCH, and if you blink, you’ll probably miss it. I’ve been there a few times in the early afternoon, and it’s perfect. Parking right in front, and maybe 1 other customer. The machines all seem to be newer and work flawlessly. My clothes actually come out clean and dry! On top of that, it’s so quiet and relaxing inside. No kids running around, teenagers blasting their wom-​wom dubstep on their iPods, and no armpit-​sweat-​smelling creepers soaking every garment with Spray n’ Wash. The TV (if even turned on) has the volume down very low, and tuned to an English-​speaking channel! No more soccer games!
So getting to the point, Brothers Coin Laundry is clean, quiet, and the machines work. I will be a regular for sure!
