1st time Happy Hour(only in the bar in the back room) Portions are same as reg menu which makes the sushi rolls a good deal. JACKIE Chan Spicy tuna-not as spicy as most places would make it which I liked. Fried coconut shrimp-ok. Plenty of strips but I guess I like the traditional way it’s usually served which is a whole round shrimp as I felt the strips modtly just tasted like the batter. Mahi mahi sliders grilled(vs blackened) — good but would’ve been better if they didnt blackened the top even though I got it grilled. I would come back to try the AYCE $ 25 for 1 hour on Wed nights.

Fabulous food, cioppino is just perfect, with amazing entertaining packed pub! Last night great performance of Crimson Crowbar. Their Creep slowed down to the absolute minimum, was just thrilling, blowing away minds, merging«perfect souls» of real people singing and dancing there.

I love this place! My husband and I went on Wednesday night and had the coconut shrimp starter and I ordered the baseball cut filet. The food was delicious and presented beautifully. Hands down one of the best steaks I’ve ever ordered! It was well seasoned and the perfect rare temperature. The steak was crusty and herby on the outside and perfectly rare on the inside. I had the Mai tai, Mahe martini and vodka soda. The mixed drinks were so delicious and knocked my socks off. They were just how you want them to be: not too sweet, tasty and they give you a great buzz! Make sure you bring your DD with you because you’ll want to have more than one drink mixed up by Derf. I must mention that we sat at the bar and Derf was our bartender and server. He is so friendly and a pleasure to talk to. Eric was also helping behind the bar and he was on it! The two work well together and you can tell that they love the food and enjoy serving up delicious food and drinks. Stop by and say hi to them yourself! Again, bring your designated driver because those drinks pack a punch! As for me, I’ll be back on Saturday!

Must’ve been a bad night. They had done a decent job previously. The server tonight was trying hard but the kitchen was either understaffed or on a job-action-slow-down strike… You would expect that for a couple hundred bucks you could get a meal that lives up to the menu. They just couldn’t make it happen tonight. Each course came out at very different times. You could’ve been finished with the main course servings that were brought out by the time the rest of our meal showed up. The food was passable but you it would have been nice to be able to eat dinner at the same time as the rest of the family. Complete disappointment. Captain Jack’s, Tantalum or Boat House next time.

Being an out of towner, I found this place on google maps and took the gamble. The food was absolutely AMAZING. The server was friendly and prompt. I will definitely make a point to come back next time I’m in the area.

I have been to Mahe’s a bunch of times. I do not like dinning in the restaurant area! The place is at the sushi bar! The sushi Chiefs are from Mexico. Just buy a cold beer or shot for your chief, and ask them what is best for tonight? Tell them your likes and dislikes and they will make your meal wonderful! What I am trying to say is they will custom make your sushi rolls or give you off the hook slices of fresh fish with unique sauces. Plus they are funny and help make the evening tons of fun! If I was grading sitting in the restaurant area! Well that’s another story! I made the mistake once on my birthday a few years ago. And it’s the same good food! But the service sucked! The waiter was selling us the whole time! We were going to spend a good deal of money, but he won’t let up! He tried to make our bill as high as humanly possible! But when I asked for something custom. He would say NO that’s not possible??? Which was bull! Because I order it at the sushi bar 30 ft over there! Many times! Dinning I the restaurant area 3 stars just because the food is great! Arrive early and sit at the sushi bar!

Pretty darn good. They oysters were great(although from the east coast… a little odd, but whatever) and the cioppino was the best I can remember. It had giant alaskan crab legs in it which was unexpected for cioppino. It was loud, but we were there on a Friday night, so…

Atmosphere: large restaurant, bar available Orders items: nachos and oysters We had a great experience while at Mahe. Per their Unilocal they are known for seafood so that’s the route we went down. We started off with an order of oysters, it was not specified where the oysters were from but the oysters were absolutely delicious with the right amount of garlic, vinegar and Tabasco. The order came with half of a dozen larger shells. After we devoured those our shrimp and clam nachos arrived. These nachos were Polynesian style with wonton crisps instead of nachos, which made them to die for. The nachos were drenched in some type of spicy tomato sauce and served alone. Unfortunately we were full off of what we had so were unable to try the sushi, but their unique rolls sounded great and were tantalizing enough to want to go back.

Love love this place. Great sushi, oysters and breakfast. I’ve been coming here for over 8 years and they never dissapoint me. My husband does not eat sushi but every time we come here he gets a non sushi entry and it’s always delicious. The service is always great and they also have live music at night.

Having grown up in Seal Beach, I am partial to local businesses here. Mahe is located in the former location of the Glide’er Inn, which was one of Seal Beach’s oldest businesses. You can still see the old glider atop the building. Many locals hang out here and it is a great place to meet friends, because their large menu has something for everyone. On my recent visit, I was with one person who is not a really big fan of seafood, one person who does not really eat red meat at all, another who is originally from England who prefers meat over seafood and me, who will basically eat anything ;) We all left happy as the menu offered options for us all. Great selections of beer, wine and cocktails, also. I had a Raspberry Mojito and my other companions had beer and wine. I love rum, and this mojito was fruity and refreshing. We ordered some appetizers to share to include the Vegetable Tempura and Asparagus Fries. We enjoyed both. They had a nice light tempura coating to them. Our entrees consisted of the Brick Chicken, Baseball Cut Filet Mignon, Crunchy Roll, Crab Mac and Cheese, Steamed Clams and Sake-Seared Salmon. The sushi here is very good. Ate some of the Crunchy Roll which was delicious. I decided to eat two small plates as my dinner. The Crab Mac and Cheese was so rich and yummy. Filled with King Crab, truffle oil and white cheddar, what is not to love? The Steamed Clams were my other side plate order and probably my favorite item we had at the table. These were steamed in beer, wine, peppers and herbs. So, so flavorful and good! My dining companions all enjoyed their entrees, also. It was packed the night we had an early weekend night dinner there. I would recommend making a reservation, if you don’t want to wait. Servers were friendly and helpful. There is valet parking besides the small parking lot in front of restaurant, but there is also plenty of street parking on the side streeets around the restaurant. It is a fun place with a casual atmosphere to meet friends for a great meal, enjoy happy hour, watch the live bands play, etc. They also have another location in South OC in Dana Point which is their newer location.

HH is weird here you can only have it by the bar & if you’re with a friend then your friend can’t do the AYCE at the bar(only at HH faves: Albacore Scallops

I love this place. It is definitely one of the places that I enjoy going with friends for a fun stress free night out. The bar fills up early when there is live music so keep that in mind if you like to have a seat. The rolls are amazing, I am a huge fan of the Salmon bombs and the Ice Cream Cone Hand roll is mandatory every time I come in. The cooked food is excellent and I have ordered off the menu but the sushi is the main calling for me. Sushi is always great quality and there is so much variety you can go traditional or get crazy. Oh and the drinks. The Mahe martini is amazing it is vodka and fresh pineapple that is all. Be careful the little pineapple pieces will get you tipsy. Their Meitei is really good as well.

I went down to Mahe to meet a friend and have lunch. The location is great and the parking is ample. That may not mean much to some people but given the area(right on PCH) it definitely makes things easier. The food was good. We got a couple of Sushi rolls and they were more than adequate. The rice was not too stiffed and the fish tasted fresh. It is hard to blow my mind with so many great sushi places in Orange County but let’s say that I would definitely go back. That’s a lot ;) As far as the service, it was friendly with good timing. You can tell the servers have been there for a while and know how to make you feel serviced without being annoying. Next time I will try to go for dinner. The place is so chill that I can see a lot of locals going there to watch a game, enjoy a beer and have a good time. I’m always down for that!

I have never had a bad meal at Mahe. The food, service, and drinks are fantastic. I came here a few months ago for my work party and everything was wonderful. We came on a Wednesday night and it was pretty busy. Darren was our server and he was awesome! He was super friendly, attentive, and made great recommendations on the menu. We started with the artichokes, the Mahe roll, and the crab cakes. They were all delicious. For dinner, I ordered the crab mac n cheese, which was mouth watering. I would highly recommend trying it. Even though it’s a starter, I couldn’t even finish it as an entrée. My parents both ordered the ahi with garlic mashed potatoes and loved it. This is one of the best restaurants in Seal Beach and a go to spot if you are ever in the area.

This place fills up fast(even on weekdays!) so I strongly suggest making a reservation. They make it easy by letting you do it completely online. I’m not a big phone call kind of girl. The parking is scarce, but hey, a nice walk near the beach isn’t a bad thing. The lighting is low and the décor is a bit dated, but it definitely fits the feel for the restaurant. What I recommend: TATAKIWRAPS. I could order like 4 of these. They’re delicious. Just order it. KOBEBEEFSLIDERS. These are awesome. When they ask you if you want to add cheese and bacon, just say yes. ELJEFE. Lots of great flavors here. I love avocado in a roll. BAKEDSCALLOPPARMESAN. This one surprised me. It melts in your mouth! What fell short: THESURFER. Not sure if I just got it on a bad day, but it was the Seabass and Salmon when I went. The salmon was extremely overcooked and lacked seasoning, and the seabass wasn’t buttery like it usually is. And sadly… the service fell short. BOTH times I’ve been here, I’ve gotten the same waiter. He seems to be bothered when you ask questions, and is always rushing off before you can ask anything else. He rarely came to the table and seemed completely disinterested. The bar is located in the back and gets loud when they have live bands… and the bathrooms are tiny! Prepare for a wait, ladies. But then again, we’re used to it.

LA is known for legendary traffic– a place where a half-hour drive is considered an easy commute. So why would I willingly venture out into this mess? What would possibly motivate me to spend an hour and a half stuck in snarling traffic? The incredible, inventive flavors of Mahe are all I need. How have I found this gem so late in life?! I’m actually not a huge seafood fan, so anyplace that can entice me to eat scallops is doing something right. The Cody’s Nachos utilize fried wontons as the ‘chips’ topped with baby scallops in a spicy soy/sriracha(?) sauce. Perfection on a plate. One of the best dishes isn’t even on the actual menu. The JJ roll is a kicked-up version of their Cabo roll– grilled steak surrounded by a tempura wrap, topped with pico de gallo. One bite and you’re hooked. And desserts– I could go on. Suffice to say, if you value your taste buds, do them a favor and treat them to a meal they’ll be savoring for hours. Mahe is the kind of restaurant you evangelize for– great flavors, welcoming service, and consistent quality. If you haven’t tried Mahe yet, make the drive. You deserve it.

You can’t spell MAHE without MEH. No, actually Mahe’s not bad– it’s just not as special as the prices suggest. WHAT’S GREAT: The Mahe Burger was thick and perfectly cooked. Instead of lettuce, it was hot arugula, which was interesting. The cheese was so steaming hot I could only take small bites at a time. The delicious Beet Salad was the biggest $ 10 salad my wife ever had. The service is great. The drinks were not weak. WHAT’S FINE: The chicken skewers. A little teriyaki-soy saucier than we expected. WHAT’S NOTSOGREAT: The décor seems outdated– at night you can’t really tell because it’s nice and dark. The man sat down in the booth behind my wife and it jolted her. The Diet Coke is flat. Like Sporty Spice age 6 flat.

I had Valentine dinner here Upon arriving we were greeted with the nicest valet guys. Once we were inside, they sat us in the back room which I loved. It was an intimate room which included only about five small tables. I had never been here before and the waiter was very sweet and knowledgeable. We ended up sharing a dozen of their fresh raw oysters. YUM! It was well prepared with ponzu sauce already on top. It was delicious. For dinner, I ordered their Wild Sea Scollops. The scallops were drenched in a lemony garlic sauce. Perfection! It came with green beans and garlic mashed potatoes. The scallops were perfectly seared and oh so good. The green beans were perfectly cooked and the garlic mashed potatoes were well flavored. My Valentine went for the rib eye and added seabass on the side. I tried both which were heavenly. It also came with green beans and garlic mashed potato. Both plates were generous with the amount of food. I think the total was a little over $ 100. Not bad. The service was excellent. The food came out fast and no complaints. The restaurant is divided up into different sections. They have their main dining area which had booths and tables. They also had a sushi bar and an alcohol bar. It’s nice because it’s versatile. You can come with friends for drinks, bring your whole family for dinner, an intimate place for a date, or just for sushi. Their menu has a large variety. However I recommend all their seafood. I cannot wait to come back.
