Tony, the mechanic, is one of the rudest people I have ever met. I don’t know how a business survives with an employee like him! I mean he was totally obnoxious. Avoid this business!

This review is for the Smog Check Station, but since they’re attached to the gas station, one can infer that the gas station is crooked, too.
My husband and I brought my car in for a smog check. My husband, who is an industrial machinist and large vehicle mechanic, ran my car through his scanner prior to bringing it to the Smog Check. It scanned clean, no issues. It should have passed the Smog Check with no issues.
Tony performed the smog check. My car failed the smog check. And, when my husband inquired why, Tony was evasive. When my husband pressed for more information, Tony became defensive and almost belligerent.
There is absolutely no reason why my car shouldn’t have passed the smog check. And when we brought it to a different smog check station, it PASSED without any issues.
This facility is horrible and more than likely takes advantage of the fact that it is down the street from Leisure World.
Do NOT bring your car here. Go anywhere else.

Seems to me that all the bad reviews were related to smog checks or maintenance. Since I’ve only come for gas, it’s safe to say that I haven’t had any bad service. I do like the clean convenience shop inside where I can get a cup of Java before I hit the road too.

Horrible, Stupid, Rude, Scam!!!
I went to fix my tire’s slow leak, the guy couldn’t find a nail, so he claimed the dirt between the tire and rim is the cause, and charged me $ 20 for cleaning the rim.
Next day, I got low pressure sign again, so I took my car in to Sam’s and they found a nail right on it.
I demanded the money back but he acted like he didn’t understand me.
By the way, the guy (Gordon) giving 5stars for this place works there.

I should have read the other reviews before I took my car into this place for an oil change and tire rotation. The charge for this service was $ 65.00, even the Hundai Dealer would have been cheaper and to have this crude man talk to me the way he did was a little over the top. I have no idea how they stay in business. Never again.

I’ve bought gas here for years and every body is nice and helpful. Just recently I’ve taken my truck there to get the front brakes done. It was fixed in the estimated time they said. Exactly 2 hours to remove and replace calipers, discs and pads. Truck runs like new again. They’re all very professional.

Avoid this place at all costs! Total scam! All the reviews on Unilocal and Google are accurate. Overcharges for smog test. They have a $ 20 coupon to lure you in, but WITH the coupon the price is the same as the REGULAR price of most smog stations. When you call and ask for price they will literally just hang up the phone! Seriously, just try it for fun (562) 626‑8045. They will hang up on you immediately LOL. Go to the «Seal Beach 16^th Street Garage» just down the street in Seal Beach. Much better service and knowledgeable staff. Not like this two-​bit shady operation at 76. And on another note — 76 has the worst quality gas. I hope this place goes out of business. It’s a cancer that needs to go away.

Rude staff (Tony) and poor service. Gave me bad advice for my smog test and charged me $ 89 to boot (RV). I wasted two Saturdays dealing with this guy. Very poor customer service and I haven’t been treated this badly in many years. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!

My check engine lite came on driving down the 405. i ended up getting off on seal beach Blvd and this was the only gas station on the exit. They helped me right away. Lucky it wasn’t serious. Nice people place was really clean. Definitely would come back. Thanks chris. a

Do not go here for a smog check. Charged me $ 70 after I showed him I had a coupon for the service. Service was fast but not worth it. No customer service and no one would speak English to me.

IF I could give negative stars I absolutely would. I wish i had read the reviews here as well. I went here a few years ago and got a smog and of course the guy was rude but my car passed, so I just went about my business. Well I just went back to get the same car smogged again and of course he was rude again. Must have rolled his eyes at me at least 20 times. I showed up close to closing so I understand he may have been frustrated, however the last time I was there early and it was the exact same attitude. I wasn’t going to say anything even when the car failed, however once I tried to show the guy at the register the coupon I had on my phone, it went downhill quickly. The coupon clearly stated either print or present coupon on mobile device. Before I had even gone in to pay when he told me it failed I asked what I should do and it said it was not his problem and whatever I wanted to do. I asked then since it failed can I bring it back to have it checked again for free as i know most places offer this and he said yes. So when I showed the guy at the front the coupon he said I had to go talk to the guy who did the smog (the rude grey curly haired man). The man at the counter was not rude at all and when he told me that I honestly thought about paying the full price (which is a rip off anyway) just to avoid dealing with him again, however he had just walked in saw that I had the coupon. He rolled his eyes at me and was clearly irritated again and told me that next time I have to print the coupon off in order for it too be good. I told him it clearly says on here on my phone that you can present your mobile device and there was a code. He told me again rudely that it did not say that, as if I am a moron and cannot read… and I told him once again that it says on there that I can show it to him on the phone. He rolled his eyes for about the 30^th time and said ok well you can’t come back for a free one now. You have to pay. Wow So either pay 80 a completely crazy price for a smog check, or pay 50 and i have to come back and pay $ 50 again to get it smogged once again and deal with a complete jerk. Sorry no thank you. All of these reviews are spot on. I took the coupon and will never go back here again. The owner should really consider these reviews and think twice about who he has working here. This guy completely ruined my day. Thanks

Prices are too high, at least a 13 cents more per gallon than the other gas station across the street, a Chevron. Not much of a mini mart, no newspapers available there, and the help is crabby and not too friendly.

I so wish I would of read the reviews before I went to this convenient but highly unprofessional location. I think the mechanics are good but the misrepresentation got to me. Nothing happened the way it was agreed. If you go there, get EVERYTHING in writing before they start. Don’t fall fro the phone approval. Ask for the parts back. BEWARE!!!

This place is a rip off. I had to replace 2 heater hoses and the charge was $ 150! here is the breakdown.
I asked the owner/​guy in charge «150? how much is labor?»
Owner «$ 75, plus the parts, antifreeze is $ 29.99»
me: «you use 100% and mix it or ⁵⁰⁄₅₀?»
owner: «100%»
me: «1 or 2 gallons?»
owner «one»
me: «100% antifreeze is $ 12.99 not $ 30»
Labor $ 75 — for this job? thats on the high side. the guy who actually worked on it did not have all his certifications, so its not like im paying for a certified professional. how do i know? i asked.
PARTS $ 75!!! I asked if i brought my own parts and the old man with gray hair said «I only do job if you buy parts from me, I need to make money!»
2 heater hoses from O’reilly’s $ 20 — He charged me $ 50! And I saw the O’reilly truck deliver it so I know it wasnt OEM.
And then he said i needed a new thermostat, but i put an end to that after I told him I replaced the thermostat already a few months ago. his replay «Oh, ok, so it should be ok»
His clientele probably doesnt use the internet.
Go someplace else if possible.

WHY didn’t I check Unilocal before I took my car here for a smog check? WHY? 1 star?
If I had, I wouldn’t have had to deal with this rude, condescending, unprofessional jerk.

First I’m an idiot for not checking Unilocal first. $ 78 for a smog check is ridiculous. That’s 15 minutes of work. No mechanic is worth $ 312/​hour.

I really wish I could mark zero stars, or even negative stars for certain business establishments… this one takes the cake.
When I go to a smaller size gas station, I usually head inside to pay for gas. I just don’t feel comfortable swiping my card at a station that has only a few pumps. I’m not sure why.
I enter the front door with my card in my hand and make eye contact with a service attendant who I notice is comfortably seated. He looks at me and looks down at my card.
Sheri: $ 30.00 on #1 please
Mr. Cozy: You know you can pay at the pump?
Sheri: Yes, I saw that.
Mr. Cozy: You don’t want to pay at the pump?
Sheri: No, I would rather pay in here please, is your machine working in here?
Mr. Cozy (still seated): Yes, it works.
Sheri: Can you please ring me up for $ 30.00 on #1 please?

Go at your own risk for a smog check at this location. The smog check side of this location is AAA & B Test Only Center. I called a few places to get a quote on a smog check, as this the first I’ve had to do. Most quotes were coming in the range of $ 49, with or without smog certification. I called twice, once to get the quote at $ 49.95, then a second time to see if it included smog certification, which it didn’t, but was quoted at $ 8.25. I chose it based on convenience of my errand running. The smog check itself didn’t take long, although I had to sit on a grimy looking chair. The smog check attendant provided me a written receipt to take to the cashier, and the cashier quoted me $ 78.20! WTH!?! I explained to the attendant that I was quoted $ 49.95 and $ 8.25 for the smog check on the phone. He replied that he was just the cashier, and that I should talk to the smog check guys. I spoke to the attendant, who didn’t apologize, and wrote a $ 20 discount on the receipt with no question in order to give me the correct rate. It was no mistake, he was definitely trying to rip off a female who came alone.
