The bread is their shining star. I tried blueberry ginger with my eggs and bacon. I wish I had bought a whole loaf! Breakfast was simple but cooked well. Coffee wasn’t the best, think regular church lady coffee. The space is nice, simple, light, and clean. The couple running it do a great job and use local ingredients.

This place is a gem. A true must stop on a morning out antiquing the coast of main. The Fresh breads and bakery options are amazing. Everything is super fresh and the presentation is more like an art. Coffee, tea and selection of Maine colas! We are making this a weekend stop for sure.

I’m lucky enough to live within walking distance from Coastal and I couldn’t be happier. The owners/staff are great, a lot of local ingredients and everything is prepared with care. The coffee is also not to be missed. It’s dark and rich and not burnt. Worth a walk, or a stop.

Never knew there was a place to eat in Searsport let alone one that offers farm to table goodness. Home baked bread, fresh cut meats all locally sourced. Delicious lunch all served up by regular people. Support this healthy option!

Stopped for a quick lunch and was very pleaded. Definitely recommend the Apple Cheddar on homemade wheat or rye. Impressed with the bread. We got some blueberry ginger and cinnamon rolls to go.

Finally a baker who understands that a muffin is not a cupcake and a scone is not a cookie. We were traveling back to Brooklyn, where there is no shortage of locally sourced small batch bakers and The Coastal Café beats them all. We picked up several types of scones and a couple of blueberry muffins all perfectly balanced to highlight the flour and fruit. I only wish I could get the blueberry muffin recipe so I could use it with the big box of berries I brought back. Alas I will have to try and rely on my dreamy memory of crunchy, chewy, fluffy heaven.

Ok coffee was bold, solid and very good. I was a little disappointed that they had no soy milk for my java. I was boldly told it is only asked for twice a week and too expensive. The response is almost like Starbucks. Really? Soy milk is good for 2 – 3 months… cost the same per ounce as ½&1/2.heck charge $.50 for it and make extra money. Thx

We stopped here for lunch today after reading these great reviews. Our experience was totally different. The selection of food at 2PM was quite limited, there was only one vegetarian option on the menu with no substitutions. When asked if there was a gluten-free option the reply a dismissive we have spent all these years learnng to do gluten, we don’t do gluten. The sandwich that I had was decent, but considerably smaller than I have usually had. I see no reason to return.

What a treat to find this casual storefront café in Searsport(via Unilocal) while heading home from vacation on the peninsula. The orange fig bread I ordered for my Bacon, Spinach, Tomato sandwich was so delicious I bought a loaf to take with me. The dark roast iced coffee was great, too(and it was nice to have a selection.) We’ll definitely be back!

Don’t drive by the Coastal Café and Bakery without stopping! Almost all of the items on the menu are made from scratch including their own breads and pastries. By using whole foods sourced from local suppliers, they are able to produce farm-to-table fresh food each day. Today I had a dark roast, full-bodied coffee along with scrambled eggs and homemade blueberry-ginger toast. It was divine. Not only is the food fresh, but the owners, Celine and Patrick, are committed to supporting local suppliers, distributors and producers. Last year, they sourced 44% of their produce grown in Maine, purchased 93% of their inventory from Maine distributors, and sourced 84% of their meats and cheeses from New England producers. For those of us interested in where our food comes from, a blackboard on the wall lists the Maine farms and companies that comprise the ingredients on their menu. And they are also deeply committed to sustainability. Food scraps are composted and the paper that lines their baking sheets are bundled up and given away to patrons who wish to use them for fires in their woodstoves. Celine and Patrick can always be found behind the counter and are more than willing to answer your questions about their food, ingredients and sustainable business practices.

Great place for breakfast or lunch. Very good breads, especially the rye. The egg sandwiches are well done and they have good coffee. Hours vary so check ahead of time.

Nice little place that serves up a mean breakfast. We ordered blueberry pancakes fresh fruit and eggs. Everything was plated beautifully and served hot, except the fruit of course. The two large pancakes were outstanding. The coffee was excellent but I wish it were served bottomless. Seating is good with small tables — inside and out. My only complaint is the table where we sat was adjacent to the dish wash area; it was the only one left for our party. I would recommend sitting at the window seats. The counter staff and wait staff were exceptionally friendly.

Top notch! The homemade bread is heaven! I had the apple panini and it was crispy, packed with a nice, sharp cheddar cheese and all the veggies they had. A great ace to stop for a snack or a filling, full meal. Another gem in searsport, I’m glad these friendly and talented people are here!

Great little place. For vacationers first, you can do your laundry across the street and pop over here to relax, eat, and have coffee. Everything is fresh prepared. We have been twice… last year and this year. Highly recommended for breakfast. Blue berry pancakes, breakfast sandwiches on fresh baked baguette, good coffee. Locals come here first but were nice to us tourists.

Don’t pass by this gem! I just had the amazing corned beef sandwich with all local ingredients — try getting that in NYC! With such a great menu and friendly proprietors, I’ll go out of my way to hit this place again.
