Desert Palm Inn

For those of you who head to the Jersey shore and book a motel room, I am sure many of you are aware that many of the motels in the area will not book you unless you book a three night stay (if you are going on a weekend).
My mom and I searched all over the internet that will accommodate a Friday and Saturday night stay for three people.
Eventually we came across this place! The owner Mr. Patel was happy to assist us.
Accidentally, he charged my moms husband on the card twice, however, he quickly fixed the mistake and then upgraded us to the room with the best view for the inconvenience which was extremely generous.
Checking in was easy, and the room itself was extremely nice and clean. It was a good size, two twin double beds, a balcony, decent sized bathroom and had a mini refrigerator.
They also offer free breakfast in the morning which runs until about 1:30 pm. It is located right outside and has water, lemonade, bagels, donuts and even a waffle maker (which you make yourself) and makes delicious perfectly cooked waffles!
The pool area is extremely clean and large. Within the pool area you are allowed to bring beverages, just as long as there is no glass. and there are also grills available for the guests to use so they can have their own BBQ!
The week we went, a group of 55 people from Connecticut was there and even brought their own DJ to play by the pool area to get the party started. I thought it was so cool that the motel would allow that.
Oh and best part is, the boardwalk is just two blocks away and the beach is right across the street!
Come Sunday, my family And I didn’t want to leave! All and all, it was one of the best places I have stayed down there. Thanks Mr. Patel! We will be back!

Two stars because in general the staff was accomodating.
Rooms are recently remodeled however I don’t feel entirely comfortable walking around barefoot. Still sticky/​grainy.
Prom season? They should give a disclaimer, because never in a million years would I have booked a weekend here knowing that. Two hundred high school students hyped up on prom drugs and coors light? Does not make for an easy night of sleep at all. I mean I’ve never slept so poorly in my life.
The only reason they get 2 stars is because they offered me my money back at check in. Which was kind of useless because there was literally no where else to go in Seaside.

Great place, great deal — money well spent. Friendly staff. Woke up at 4 am in need of water, walked out to the soda machine outside their office and was pleasantly surprised that they had one of the good fellows keeping an eye on things. Room was comfortable and well kept. The place is just a walk away from the action and closer to the best section of the beach. This is my second time staying here — already have reservations for another 2 day stay. I have an SUV, parking was just fine.

Definitely not the largest or classiest, but got the shore it is great. Staff is more than accommodating. Breakfast every morning in the house is a nice touch and the kids love it.

Desert Palm Inn was great. Before leaving home I called to confirm my reservation and the man was really nice. We stayed one night in a snug room with no soap or shampoo but it was no big deal. Tv was fine, there was closet space, the towels smelt very clean. We didn’t have badges to get on beach but for a $ 50 deposit you can rent them and then get your money back! In the morning after my night stay, I was concerned with where I’d get coffee. I went downstairs to go to the beach and DPI had a breakfast stand set up. It made my morning. Donuts, waffles, bagels and, most important, coffee. When we checked out the men downstairs were very interested in how our stay was and were just so pleasant. After I returned home from NJ, I was excited to go to bed as it was very late. That’s when I realized I left my pillow in the room. I called today and they had it and said they’d send it to my home. I asked if they needed my CC info to bill me for shipping but the manager had picked up the tab. Even before that I was happy with DPI. I highly recommend it.

So it’s annual trip to the Jersey Shore time again, yet this time, it’s a new hotel. A friend stayed here and said it was nice enough so we made our reservations. From the renovations, I’d venture a guess that Sandy did quite a number on this place last year. Good thing tho, as the rooms have been updated as a result. Don’t kid yourself folks, we’re not talking 5 star resort, the room is tiny, but if you get the chance, get a room by the enclosed patios on the second floor and you won’t mind the cramped quarters. A mini fridge and microwave are included in the room, which is a nice bonus. The rooms seem clean enough, not perfect, but better than anywhere else we’ve stayed in this shithole of a town.
Stay here for the short walk to the boardwalk and the beach and the out of the way location and recognize that EVERY hotel in Seaside is rundown and overpriced and you’ll recognize the value here

Parking lot is like sardines, so expect that your car leaves with dings and dents. The rom is equally as small. The room was dirty, furniture was old and beat up, bathroom felt gross and looked gross. the mattress pad on one of the beds was stained with blood (double gross) I feel like a total fool for paying $ 156 for the night. Beds are totally uncomfortable and the whole experience was down right deplorable! We rented it for 1 night and we left at 1am and went home. Couldn’t see myself sleeping there… and the chain lock on the door was broken so security was an issue for me especially since this room was literally at the top of the stairs and everyone on the 2^nd floor waked by our room! Room #136 do yourself a favor and don’t stay here. Was horrible from start to finish!!!

This place is definitely a big NO NO! Booked the hotel for 1 night and as soon as I walked in the room I wanted to go back home. Place looks horrible. First off the bathroom toilet bowls was disgusting and looked like it hasn’t been clean in weeks. The shower head was broken and the walls had holes with rust around them. The headboard of the bed was full of dust, like chunks of dust. The only good thing I can say is that the location is good, minutes and walking distance to boardwalk.

While the parking lot and driveway are extremely clumsy, the room itself suited my purpose for an overnight stay between stops. It was clean and cheap. No nonsense basics and bedbug-​free.
Came here before tourist season started, so the place was quiet.
Sunrise on the balcony was gorgeous.
Manager was very friendly.
Took a long walk on the long pier, checked out, and hit the highway.
