The coffee quality appears appropriately high(for the price point), the clientele appears appropriately bourgeois for the locale, and the staff presents as appropriately ‘over-it’ for all of the above reasons. We made a quick top in for an afternoon pick-me-up. It was slammed. The frozen mocha was super sweet(but not in a great way). My au lait was good but nothing spectacular. Summary: overpriced coffee in Seaside but still better than a Starbucks.

Small coffee shop, but quality coffee! I love the flat white! Very little indoor seating, however, they have a long bar facing the window that’s great to get work done.

One of my favorite coffee shops. Service is friendly and fast. Great location on the beach side of Seaside. Perfect place to ride your bike to and drink your coffee on the beach. Bike racks are right in front of the coffee shop. Nice touch is there are kid size cups and they will make the hot Chocolate at kid temperature which will not burn their mouths. I also like that they have skim milk on the stir and cream bar so you don’t have to ask for it.

Great place to stop in and either get coffee, lattes, tea and some good food. You can sit on inside or outside.

I am so glad I chose this place to come to for my morning coffee. The customer service couldn’t be friendlier and the coffee selection is fantastic. The inside… it has some seating but not too much inside. There are several places outside to sit. They have free wifi as well. I noticed they have a rack of newspapers for everyone to read which is very nice. The grub… i tried the Ethiopian that they were offering and I am considering getting some for my home. It is quality coffee and I wish I Could bring one of these to birmingham. I didn’t try any but their pastry case looks incredible. They are all about fresh, natural, and quality products here. Definitely a must go for coffee

Happy to have found this gem. Friendly service and fantastic green tea lattes. Smooth, creamy & delicious. Better than Starbuck’s GTL.

These guys really know how to throw down some Espresso! I opted for a Triple Breve, with only a small amount of Cream, and they nailed it. If I am ever back in the area, I’ll be stopping in!

For being the only coffee shop in Seaside, it’s actually really good. I’m kind of a coffee snob so I have to check all of the cool places out wherever I go! I approve of what the sell. It’s all fair-trade so you feel even better drinking it. I obviously bought a pound before I headed out and loved it just as much at home! I’ll be back tomorrow :)

I always like coming here even when they’re busy. Great coffee and pastries, and the people watching is pretty good too. I always get a bag of fresh ground coffee to take home with me so vacation memories keep coming back with each sip of delicious coffee.

Overall extremely disappointed. I don’t know how the coffee tasted because the only taste resonating in my mouth is the poor service. When the barista got our drink wrong, they scoffed and refused to make it right. Could have been a very simple fix, but the overall vibe and employee attitude will make me not come back again.

From the outside, Ama Vida seems like a family friendly neighborhood coffee shop, but the employees that run it made it the last place we’d ever want to come back to. A simple mistake was escalated to an extremely rude encounter with no recourse. We’ll take our family and business else where.

Stopped in for some coffee and breakfast before a fitness class. The line was fairly long in the morning but moved quickly. I had a tasty bacon, egg and cheese on a biscuit. The iced coffee was strong but not bitter. Seems like a great option for coffee and a light breakfast if you’re in Seaside.

Quality coffee shop with quality products? Check. On the beach? Check. Has almond milk [makes masala chai even better]? Check.

Loved their coffee and enjoyed the atmosphere. Highly recommended for coffee lovers. Their lattes taste as good as they look. Very nice staff also. I’ll be returning soon.

This is the coffee shop on the central«square» in Seaside. I’m not much of a coffee drinker, but it was chilly and threatening rain, so when a friend wanted herbal tea, I agreed to join her. They’ve got a pretty long list of teas. I chose the tumeric ginger herbal tea thinking it would be zesty and full of anti-inflammatories needed post race. Sure, it’s hard to mess up stocking tea and heating water, but I was impressed with the double cups and how they put the edge of the tea bag in between them to hold it in place for the steeping. That and when I researched the Rishi tea that they were selling on the shelves, I came to find out that it’s an iced tea and one bag is designed to make 1 quart. So I was getting super concentrated tea, and I loved it. The coffee smelled good, too.

My decaf Americano was excellent with the delicious crema, in a cappuccino cup and served with a real spoon. I asked for the 8oz with two shots. It was so nice to see a place offer 8 oz servings. The staff made up the order correctly but they were more involved with their own conversations than with the customers. This particular shop has only bar-type of seating along with outside table and chairs. Not a comfortable chatting atmosphere but certainly a handy place to get a drink to take to the shopping area or the beach. I considered getting some beans but their selection was limited. Appreciate that it is fair trade, organic and locally roasted.

There’s this lady in the back that makes the most amazing chicken avocado arepas(chicken and avocado between two corn pancake tortilla bun things) which makes for a really good lunch. Amavida roasts their own fair trade coffee and the baristas know their stuff. If you like the burnt bean taste of Starbucks coffee espresso, you won’t get that flavor profile here. It’s a small space and so indoor seating is limited but there is enough room to plop down with your laptop and check some emails.

Wow, I’m not sure why this place is only 3.5 stars on Unilocal.Either people in Seaside just aren’t Unilocalers or they just don’t really know what’s in front of them. I gave this beachside coffee shop 5-stars for the following reasons: a) TASTE. The white chocolate mocha was just like Seaside – a little slice of heaven. Soooo good! b) QUALITY. The coffee is 100% organic and fair trade. Why do I care if it’s organic or not? Well, coffee is one of the most chemically induced products in the world. Would I want to be drinking chemicals dressed as a latte? No, and I’m sure you wouldn’t like that either. So, a «high five» to Amavida for setting themselves apart from the average coffee shops. c) SERVICE. Excellent customer service by the staff/barista. I bought a medium iced latte and went on my way to cruise around the block but immediately dropped the drink by accident. I went back right away to buy another serving(since the latte was THAT good). I was getting ready to pay, however, the barista offered it as complimentary after hearing that I dropped it accidentally. I wasn’t looking for a freebie but what a great move that was because now they have found a loyal customer in me and although I will not be able to go there everyday(I’m from San Diego after all), I will definitely be buying my coffee from them online. Besides coffee and teas, they also serve food with a Latin flair. Love this place!
