I’ve only had their tempura and it was good. No complaints as far as service goes. The place is small. Worth trying if you’re in the area.

We are from Monterey and we came back to play. We come home often and never really go out to dinner since we stay with family. We went on fathers day and we were impressed. We have an 11 year old who isn’t ready for a full size meal. They were able to make a side of chicken teriyaki and rice for him. We ordered the following: Big Sur Roll — AMAZING Forgot the other roll but it was a salmon roll and it was ok. Chicken Teriyaki/tempura — pretty good. The chicken was not drowning in teriyaki sauce and that was a HUGE plus. Tempura was fine, the dip was a little lacking in the taste. The salad dressing was AMAZING. Chicken Teriyaki/CA roll — CA roll was fine. We noticed that we did not get miso soup. That was a bummer. We had multiple waiters and 1 waitress. They were very friendly. The acoustics were not the best. It carried the noise very well which meant my youngest son has high functioning Autism had a hard time with the noise when a larger group came in. It is a rather small restaurant but the décor is beautiful.

This place is well staffed. Even when they were busy the workers were attentive and kind and quick with the orders. Quality of the sushi is slightly above average and on mon they have special: 2 piece nigiri for $ 2!!! Ill be back to try out their rolls.

If you love sushi like I do, this is the place! Always fresh fish and service– they are all very friendly so far! They try their best during their peak time. They could use more servers especially on Mondays. Wednesdays, just tried it this past week. The rolls are ok. They need to train the new server to be friendlier. She was literally dropping our orders on our table as if she was mad! But I’m sure they’ll get that corrected and I will let them know.

This place was great. Packed on a Monday for $ 1 nigiri night but totally worth the wait. Everything was fresh and delish. Service was a bit slow, we had to flag our waitress down twice for siracha and refills but it she got it to us pretty quick so it really wasn’t that bad. I even like the privacy walls they have up to separate the tables. It felt like we were sitting in a wooden crate. Lol. Definitely recommend it and definitely going back. :)

Had lunch here yesterday with hubby and the kids. Found it on Unilocal! The place is very nice and clean looking. The rolls were pretty good. And all reasonably priced. We had the 49er roll, the baked Lobster roll and the Dynamite roll. All were really tasty. The 49er roll was pretty good, but did lack a little flavor. The kids had California rolls with teriyaki chicken and rice, very good. Service was great too. Our waitress was very nice and friendly and our food didn’t take to long. I will be back if I am in the area again.

This place is a really nice find. My fiancé and I stopped here on our way back to SF. We weren’t really expecting too much, and when we saw the prices, we got a little worried. They’re really affordable. We were very pleasantly surprised! This was some of the better sushi we’ve had in the area, and easily the cheapest. All the fish tasted very fresh, the portions were generous, and the staff was very nice.

The food was super super amazing !!! The service was pretty good given that the place is very small and also very busy. I also noticed that they have $ 1 dine in sushi, great deal !!!

Horrible service!!! Only caucasians are welcome!!! The server never came back to our table asked if everything’s alright. I watched other servers checked back on their tables which wre all caucasians. I can’t believe discrimination is still here in California! I asked to speak with the manager and it turned out that our server was also the manager. Forgot to mention that her name is Gigi. It was no use to talk to her. I really hope that this review will bring to the restaurant owner’s consideration about the SELECTIVE service.

Incredible sushi for the most amazing price! Customer service was great here and the suggestions by the server were delicious! We ordered 2 sushi time rolls, 1 tuna tataki roll, 1 honeymoon and 1 albacore special. All were great but the albacore special and tuna tatami were the winners for me. Can’t wait to go back and try some more! Also, don’t miss out on their tempura fried ice cream!!!

SUSHITIME is one of the best sushi joints you will find in the Monterey bay area. Reasonable price high quality. It is small, but that does not stop them from being high quality.

My family visited Monterey and followed Unilocal advice to try at sushi time. We waited a little when we got there but their fresh, good quality and big portion of food was a worth to wait. We ordered 2 orders of tuna Maki and I was amazed how much of tuna was in. We also ordered ika, Hamachi, tako, tobiko sushi and they were super fresh and they were amazingly delicious. My kids had beef teriyaki and the portion was huge as well as it was super yummy. They wanted to eat there again the next day. :) I would definitely go back there next time I visit Monterey!

Thanks for the horrible service. We try to go as much as we can but this time was the worse never got drinks or any kind of service. We understand how busy you guys were, but we saw how you guys take care other tables before us and we were seated first them! I don’t think is fear two of our child’s were really hungry and not even drinks was offered! After waiting for ever we decide to go Züm sushi! They take care of us right away, and have good sushi as well! We would think about you guys next time but not in a while! :(

Great food. Very friendly staff. Unfortunately, our waitress only checked on our table once when she was taking our order(10 mins after we were seated).

Seaside, CA — Highway 1, Monterey Bay Lunch * Assorted Nigiri as pictured. Healthy portions of fish(see pic for scale) decent rice but little to no wasabi between fish and rice. 3.5 outta 5. * Roll Fire Dragon or Dynamite… Something like that. Basically a WAF shrimp tempura in a roll with what it appeared to be old avocado. On top«spicy tuna» with no spice and no flavor(pic). Lackluster at best 2 outta 5. * Service is friendly and just right for a pretty casual sushi spot. Tips: * Monday they have a dollar nigiri for selected fish. Must order two pieces and has sold out in the past. Get there super early! * Other specials listed. * Clean restrooms. * Located in the old Phở King location, the only spot to get decent phở and curry under the same roof.

Santa Barbara Uni for $ 6.99(two pieces). DELICIOUS. Lobster popcorn bites were also tasty. Eat ‘em before they get soggy! Tuna role that comes with the bento box was huge, but really spongey. Maybe just an off day? Our other two rolls were standard. Good, but nothing spectacular. Overall: terrific value, huge portions, though I think the fish can be hit or miss.

I’ll give it 5 stars. Why? Awesome service. Katherine was my waitress. She was prompt and friendly. Like perfect. Food– it’s a pretty good deal! Chicken teriyaki/shrimp&veggie tempura lunch box for $ 8??? Unheard of. Granted there were not many veggies, but the overall quality was good. Their teriyaki tastes like pepper. But it was cooked just right. I also got the $ 3.50÷2 piece salmon nigiri«sushi». HUGEPIECESOFSALMON! They tasted good too. I did not like the sushi rice though, but I don’t eat rice anyway… I came around 11:15. I’m looking forward to trying a roll someday!

While on a trip to Monterey, I was really craving sushi. My boyfriend randomly picked a sushi place off Unilocal with good reviews and it was Sushi Time. This restaurant is located in a little strip mall and we couldn’t find parking in the lot, so we found nearby street parking. There were a few homeless people walking around asking for money, so just be aware of your surroundings. It was crowded when we arrived and we were asked to wait ten minutes for a table. They don’t have anywhere to sit while you’re waiting for a table, so the hostess asked if we would like to stand and wait or sit at the bar temporarily. We opted for the latter. At the bar, we were able to browse the menu and see what we wanted to eat. Only a few minutes went by before a table became available and we were seated. I ordered the popcorn lobster roll, which was deep fried lobster on top of a California roll. My boyfriend ordered the chicken teriyaki lunch entrée, which came with miso soup, salad, and rice. I LOVED the popcorn lobster roll. It was perfectly fried and crispy but NOT greasy at all. The lobster was fresh and tender and not overcooked(which I find tends to happen quite frequently with lobster). The California roll beneath the fried lobster was tasty. My boyfriend enjoyed the chicken teriyaki. He said the flavor was good and it wasn’t dry. I tried the miso soup and found it comparable to other Japanese and sushi places — not too salty and just the right amount of tofu in it. I was really upset that our trip to Monterey was only a few days because it didn’t allow me enough time to come back to Sushi Time before we headed home. I’ve been craving that popcorn lobster ever since and I wish there was somewhere near home that I could get this dish!

Came for lunch and ordered a few things I wanna try. It seems people loves this place so gave a shot. They didn’t have Uni & Amaebi. She said their shipment is coming tomorrow… Aji was decent but not fresh as I want. I don’t think Tamago wasn’t made by them. Also ordered Anago(like Unagi). Looked way too cooked and was hard like dried fish. I am not sure this is the place for nigiri sushi. Rolls may be ok. But I was dissatisfied and disappointed. Don’t know why Unilocal reviews were highly rated.

Came here for a late lunch with my boyfriend for our anniversary. We were seated immediately and decided on ordering the $ 1 sushi, which is basically a choice of nigiri. This deal is only on Mondays. We ordered 12 pieces of salmon nigiri, 4 tuna nigiri and sake rolls. I could tell that their fish was fresh. Definitely a solid sushi place.
