We came in just to taste some local beers and we got two pints and she brought us out a taster of the third. Great service. Great beers!

We came in about 8:30pm on Sunday evening and they had just turned the grills off for the night. The waiter had started suggesting another place up the road for dinner when we said we just left there because we sat for 20 minutes without being waited on at all. He said he will ask the cook if he’s fine to stay longer and all was good. They were out of clam chowder, fish and beef slices(french dips, etc), which was a bummer, but understand at end of day. I ordered a cheeseburger, which was very messy but great! My husband ordered a Reuben and said it was delicious. And our 5 year old had Mac and cheese and goldfish. He said it was yummy. It was great that they were able to accommodate us and get us served.

We loved the food and friendly locals. Service is slow but they are clear about that when you get there.

This was a fun place to be! The staff was very friendly and even a nice chat with the cook. Their clam chowder is out of this world!!! There is a wonderful bacon tone to it and the clams are plentiful. The shrimp po’ boy was fresh and packed with flavor. The slaw used to top the sandwich with was rich and tangy, which helped compliment the savory shrimp very nicely. My wife had the clam strips. The beer batter was light and crispy and the clams were juicy. All in all, a positive visit. I see people complain about the service, but I understood the atmosphere immediately when I walked it. It’s not a traditional restaurant, it’s a pub environment. It doesn’t mean people are mean to you or ignoring you, you just have to try to match their pace. Again, great people, nobody was even remotely rude. I’d definitely eat here again and for the love of all that is seafood, get the chowder!!! :-)

Oh my god!!! Please everyone read the owner Teri C’s responses to negative reviews. They are hysterical. Very snarky, clever and creative. I’ve never been to this place but I’m on my way and Teri… Please let me buy you a beer. Do you have soft pretzels on the menu yet?

Foods is delicious! Fresh, tasty and good options! We got the burger and fries and the tori tots! I would say that it’s better than any place we have tried in seaside or cannon beach! Great service and very clean! We will definitely be back! Also they have a good beer list, board games, parchment paper and crayons and a kids menu! What’s not to love!

We usually stop in when we come to seaside from Portland for the day, we go to the beach right off of U street so this place is very convenient. We like it here for a number of reasons, it’s a small town beachy restaurant and never crowded when we stop in. Service can be slow but our food makes up for that, it’s not fancy and food is standard seafood/clam chowder and greasy burgers and fish/chips, chicken strips and things of that nature, we love the beer battered fries and the root beer on tap. It’s a good, easy place to stop in and have lunch or dinner, before or after a beautiful day in seaside.

We’re working on Oregon’s North Coast Craft Beer Trail and it brought us to the U Street Pub. I didn’t know what to except when we arrived it looked like a neighborhood pub where locals hang out and it was and much more. We had a great time, Kurt was our server and he had a charming personality. One person in our group asked how was the calm chowder, our server Kurt, told us the calm Chowder was the 2nd best, we laughed but when it was served to us, I heard OMG this is so good! We also had steamed Clams in a spicy red sauce, it was delicious. One person in our group got the burger and fries, they said it was perfectly cooked and had great flavor. Service and food was excellent!

5⁄309:03pm * A sudden barrage of good reviews… Weird! Geez, I can’t imagine you’re asking your FRIENDS to update and post GOODREVIEWS. I’d have that looked at, Unilocal. No anger, people are allowed to use CAPS — as you have done yourself, MR-HL. As you’ll see, the owner responded to my original post. But of course, she was sour grapes about it. Why not ask what you can do to make the experience better? Why not look in-house to see if there is any validity to my original complaint? Instead, we go on an angry, defensive, crazy, drunken, possibly drung-induced rant about women and waits and so on… VERYODD! The whole experience, including the reply from the owner(who obviously started off trying to be funny) has been awful. DONOTVISIT this business(probably won’t be around much longer anyway), do not give them your time, do not give them your money.* Seriously, you can most likely get EVERYTHING on their menu at any other spot in town. _______________________________________________________ We popped in this past Sunday because the website said it was dog-friendly. And it was dog-friendly but the space is very small, it might be worth just leaving the dog at home for a coupla hours. It was a sunny day so obviously we expected a crowd but we also expected a staff to be able to handle it. A bigger crowd should constitute more employees on shift, right? There were two older ladies running in and out, doing the best they could, but they were still very slow and appeared to be new or still in training mode(I know it’s the GM or the owners who need to make sure things run smoothly so I hope they read this.) I stood in a line for just over 10 minutes to order a beer. In that time, I witnessed the cook coughing in the back and not covering his mouth, not one but TWO folks complaining about their food, and a third woman(a muscular red haired lady) make a rude comment to the lady in front of me. She didn’t greet anyone, didn’t smile, nothing. I finally order our beers and she pours the wrong one. Okay fine, she emptied them out and pour again. When I pay, she realizes she charged me for the wrong item so I actually overpaid but I couldn’t stand the attitude of the red-haired lady nor did I want to wait any longer. I just told her to forget about it and we skipped out on ordering food. We chugged our beers and hit the bricks. The ½ hour wait at Seafood Brewing Company was worth it! I realize it’s on the main strip in town but what a wonderful place. So that’s my soap box speech.

Get the French dip! The wait staff is amazing and very sweet. Water was always full. Great beer list and good parking. They even put my ketchup in a little cup on the side!!! No complaints. Would come back to seaside just to eat here again.

Great selection of beer, dog friendly seating outside. We ordered burgers and they were amazing way better than any other place to eat on the main strip. Parking is very available and the staff is extremely friendly. Perfect burger and fries with a wide variety of both local and popular beers we will definitely be coming back. Do yourself a favor and get away from the main strip with crappy service you will be glad you did.

Ok here goes! We used Unilocal to find this place. So glad we did. My family each had a different seafood dish. Fish and Chips were fantastic! Oh and the tarter Sauce super yummy. The fried shrimp was awesome. The clam strips were super big and yummy. Also the Fries! Omg so GOOD! You have to come to this place. We will be coming back every time we are in town.

I had the shrimp Poboy which was pretty good but over priced at over $ 16.00+ Service was great. Food was good. The clam chowder was better than expected.

I moved to Seaside 4 years ago and have been wanting to try this place for a long while. I had high expectations due to the rave reviews from the locals, and the food and staff surpassed those expectations by a long shot. We had 3 different people checking in on us throughout our meal filling drinks and making sure we felt comfortable and had all we needed. It was very busy, and the service just got quicker and friendlier the more people who showed up! I had the brisket sandwich which was generous with the flavorful meat and served on a perfectly toasted roll. My friend had the fish and chips which she was very happy with. I am excited to go back and try more food!

Wife and I went here New Year’s Day for a light lunch. When we entered we weren’t greeted and it wasn’t clear if we waited to be seated it just pick a table. After a couple minutes we decided on the latter. Wife ordered the clam chowder and I attempted to order the chili, but was informed that the cook hadn’t made it that day. So I ended up with ordering the onion rings instead. The food was brought out quickly and hot. My onion rings were very good, and my wife said the chowder was very good as well. We left satisfied after our meal.

U Street was the perfect place to stop on our trip up the Oregon coast to watch the Women’s World Cup final. The bar inside is open and spacious, the food is great(we got the burger and fries with Tillamook cheddar and bacon plus a bowl of clam chowder), the drink list is filled with great local beer, and the staff is super friendly. They had the game on every TV in the place and everyone was super into it. Complete with Carli Lloyd scoring a goal from midfield, it’ll definitely be one of the more memorable games I’ve watched. We couldn’t have picked a better place to watch the game.

I had not planned on writing a review for the U Street Pub, but I guess I don’t have a choice now. :/ My friend(see her review posted on 1÷30÷15 below) and I were doing the Ale Trail punch card and this was one of the locations it brought us to. We arrived right as the door was being unlocked by a woman at 12pm, and walked in. There were no other customers inside, and no one came in after us while we were there. We were alone in the restaurant. When we got inside, we had planned on grabbing a quick bite, as it was lunch time and we were a bit peckish. We let her know that we were on the ale trail, and then I had the nerve to ask if they had hot soft pretzels on the menu. Huge mistake. I never implied that I had heard they had them, I simply asked because I had always been taught there are no stupid questions… apparently there are. She very quickly snapped at me and asked where I had heard that, I let her know that I hadn’t heard it anywhere, I was just asking because we hadn’t seen the menu yet. She then gave us a menu, and let me know that pretzels are a tourist food, and that if I wanted a chance of finding one I would have to head back to the touristy part of town… :/ I attempted to let it slide off my back, and glanced at their tap handles, I took note of what was there, and knew that I had tried all the beers they offered before except for the Seaside Brewing beer, which was the next place we were going on the ale trail, so it didn’t make sense to get a beer here either, and I told the woman this. My friend and I then tried to figure out a way to get out of the awkward situation we were in, but were not immediately successful. The woman proceeded to tell us about how she thinks that burgers and beer are a better pairing than pretzels, which is totally fine, and that they have the best beer selection in Seaside, which is also totally fine. I am a huge fan of beer, I have worked for a brewery here in Portland, I have even dabbled in home brewing, and we didn’t ask her to help us make any decisions or educate us about the beer on tap. I just want to be completely clear here. We did not sample any beer, and there were no other customers in the restaurant while we were there.

We were looking for a place off the strip in Seaside and decided to chance U Street based on Unilocalers reviews. We had driven by earlier in the day and saw that it was small, but since we were just looking for beers n’ burgs, this place seemed like it would fit the bill. U Street does have a decent beer selection and informative menu which speaks to IBU’s etc. Definitely helpful for my wife who tends towards the less hoppy end of the spectrum. Though I was disappointed, as usual when it happens, that the prices were not listed. I had a nice IPA from Baker City which was fairly steep at $ 5.75 for a 12 oz. pour. This was served in a stemless wine glass and seemed a tad short on volume, but how can you tell unless you travel with a measuring cup or want to tick off the server by questioning her? The food was the downfall of U Street for us. The mozzarella sticks came out really fast from the kitchen(yea!) but were luke warm on the inside(boo!). The burger was a flat little hockey puck. The Au Jus for my steak was a thin salty brown liquid. My wife ordered the clams which were overcooked and had unusual white shells. Obviously the white color was not U Streets fault, but since neither of us had ever seen white shelled steamers from OR we asked the server. She said they were from Netarts and Willapa Bay. Could be, but they looked different than any clams we’ve seen on the coast. Unfortunately, for all of this Sysco-esque food, we paid a regular restaurant’s pricing. Not sure the next time we’ll be heading to Seaside, but we will not be going back to U Street again.
