FlightCar

Everyone we dealt with at FlightCar was really courteous and professional. Granted, we were not in a big hurry to make a flight or anything like that, so from our perspective, everything was efficient and timely. Since they are not allowed to pick up or drop off renters at the airport terminals, just make sure you leave yourself plenty of time to make your flight on your return. We saved a ton of money on our rental and had a good experience! Give them a try!

I just finished my second stint with FlightChart — 2.5 months this time.
They’ve really tightened things up in terms of their process. In particular, letting you know where your pickup is by text message when you travel to the rental car center. In the past there has been a «am I going to be picked up?» feeling which sucks after 24 hours of flights…
Ricardo was very helpful during the pickup process, getting me into my car and out on the street extremely quickly and efficiently.
The payback seems to have decreased; my car was rented a lot, but I only got $ 150 for the 2 months. They add a virtual X thousand dollars to the «payment» to show what it would cost to keep it at long term parking. That’s a bit disingenuous; obvious I’d never park a car at the airport for months.
But overall I love the service. Even saving the über/​taxi to and from the airport is a nice chunk of change, and having it ready and detailed when I got back was sweet. They took great care of my car and it’s a good feeling knowing it’s getting used.

Great costumer services. The staffs are very helpful. I rented two times at this location. I had not encounter any problem with them during the rental. However, most cars are not in mint condition, but that’s the cost and benefit you got at a car sharing price.

I’ve used FlightCar since they started operating a few years ago. This time was my second time parking my car at the Seattle office. The pros are definitely in the savings on parking, the cleaning of the car and discounts on rentals. The cons are with getting from FlightCar to the airport. Transferring several times before getting to the terminal can be tedious and eat up a lot of time. I had my husband drop us off at the airport rather than endure those transfers with a sleepy toddler.
They’ve improved their electronic communications but who wants an SMS as long as a book chapter, with multiple layers of instructions upon arriving at the airport in order to get to them? The other cons are the price hikes. For those customers who have been with you since the beginning, lowering expectations that you wont nickel and dime us is tough. I enjoyed so much that I wasn’t charged for car seats, toll passes or GPS units just a year ago.

I’ve been using Flightcar regularly for several years and have had consistently good service. Joshua, the Seattle manager is really friendly and introduced himself personally last time I was there. There have been a couple of occasions where I needed to drop my car off before 4 AM, and they made sure someone was working so that I could do that. Highly recommend Flightcar!

Will definitely use this service again! The entire staff was very prompt and organized! I was quite surprised actually. Painless experience — the only thing I recommend is maybe having a team member drive the customer back to their airport terminal when they are done, I mean it’s right there! Other than that, awesome experience, awesome crew, and I’ll definitely do this again. I’m not even sure why this company doesn’t have 5 stars on Unilocal!The only way you would have a bad experience is if you don’t know how to follow directions and read fine print! Thanks Flightcar! Love this company! The staff are friendly and helpful and willing to go the extra mile. We have rented from them twice and were more than pleased both times. I was a little worried the first time we rented through them as it was a new process and I have trust issues, but it was great and we will use them again whenever traveling to a city out of which they operate.

There are some hidden policies to note, but other than that it was a quick and painless experience. The staff was friendly and welcoming. My only complaints are that we were accidentally overcharged and the breaks on our car were not in the best shape, which I feel should be one of the top concerns in a hilly city like Seattle. Nevertheless, we addressed these issues and Joshua refunded the overcharge and we were told that the owner of the car will be notified about the breaks immediately.
The instructions via email/​txt that led us to the facility were straight forward. First we were led to the SEA rental car facility via bus, then a car picked us up and drove us to FlightCar. The total time it took from landing to our arrival at FlightCar was 30 – 40 minutes.
Renters under 25 years old, you are required to purchase their insurance, even if you have your own. Their written policy is misleading, and they will only waive the insurance requirement if your own insurance covers peer-​to-​peer (majority of insurance companies do not).

These guys were fantastic! I was definitely glad I chose to use them for parking. My car came back looking sharp and ready to drive and I made a few bucks. Not a bad way to go. Definitely recommend others to try it out.

I’ve been using FlighCar basically since they were brand new in Seattle. There have been a few very small hiccups along the way but I’m amazed at how much faster their service is now in terms of getting you in and out the door. I’m very happy with my 3 or 4 most recent experiences and would strongly recommend anyone to try renting from FlightCar or parking there and renting their car out. My car is always there waiting when I return, nice and clean with no issues. Most recently while away for a week my car was rented out and I came home to $ 50, a clean car inside & out, and enjoyed a cheap rental car from FlightCar while I was away in San Diego.

I’ve parked my car here twelve times over the past two years, and overall it’s been a great experience. Literally every person I’ve interacted with at the FlightCar office has been extremely friendly and helpful, and any feedback I’ve given has been met with a personal email addressing it. Once you get over the weirdness of a stranger potentially driving your car while you’re away, you’ll never want to do normal airport parking again. One time, I had an issue where the renter caused a few unsightly cracks in my windshield, but after sending pictures to FlightCar support, they arranged to have it completely replaced during my next trip. The process was seamless, and my car tends to come back in better shape than when I drop it off (thanks to the free wash and vacuum).
For first-​timers, give yourself a little extra time to understand the drop-​off/​pick-​up process so you’re not racing to make your flight. SEA imposes a bizarre rule where places like FlightCar need to drop you off and pick you up from the airport’s rental car facility, and from there you have to take a (free) shuttle to actually get to the airport. It’s inconvenient for sure, but the value you get out of parking with FlightCar is well worth it.

I am such a fan of flight car. It’s such an amazing concept. My wife and I dropped off our car, Bailey, our check in woman was amazing. She kept us at ease and we made to our flight with no problem. We did not get our car rented out right away, however when it was rented during our trip, we got an email explaining that it was. When our flight landed we got an email having us let them know when we landed and when we got our luggage. Once we called Tatiyana picked us up and she was just as great as Bailey when we started our trip. Not only did we save about $ 100 in parking we made money for our car being rented! When we got our car, the car was cleaner inside and out then when we left it. I love this concept and I will always use flight car!

I’ve used the Seattle Flight car a number of times for parking. The experience has always been fast and efficient. There’s been some changes to the business model as of late, but the customer experience has always been great. On the most recent trip, our flight was delayed coming in to Seattle. Luckily the agent at Flight Car had an eye on our flight information. She called me once we landed and told me she had to deal with a check-​in and would arrive to pick us up at the Rental Car facility. She checked out us out quickly so that we could be on our way. Looking forward to continuing using the service next time i’m flying out of Seattle.

I just want to say how impressed I was with the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. It was my first time using this service and I did not expect this level of customer service. Josh, the manager, was very friendly and professional, assisting me to get in and out fast with a big smile on my face. The facility here was very clean and not crowded making it an even better experience. I highly recommend flightcar and I plan on using again in the future!

The only inconvenience of this is the pickup and drop off process at the rental car facility as opposed to directly at the airport. I understand that it’s outside of the company’s control, but it should have been communicated at the time of the reservation. I would definitely use the service again, however not when traveling with my family.
That being said, the employees that worked with my husband, my son and myself were incredibly helpful! Bailey even held my son while we worked to get his car seat appropriately packed! A big thanks to Ken for helping to find us at the rental car facility in the pouring rain!

I used this service three times — two for parking, in SEA, one for renting, in SFO. Parking experience was very smooth. Even not considering that you don’t pay for parking, their facility is clean and not crowded, you are dealt with in a very timely manner, and service to and from the airport is prompt. You get a washed car, to boot, which is even more awesome.
Renting experience was a bit more hectic — the facility at SFO was crowded, cars were stacked upon each other and I’d be surprised if all of them get out unscathed :) However, car was decent, price was good, and checkin/​checkout experience was smooth.
Overall, communication is very prompt and mostly clear. Employees are knowledgeable, energetic and engaged (unlike grumpy dudes at some paid lots!).
Some things that could be improved:
— I would like to get more details about logistics of dropoff. The procedure changed between 1^st and second times I parked — they are not allowed to drop off people at the airport anymore, instead they take you to rental car facility from where you need to take the shuttle. I did not know and did not account for that (which is extra 15 minutes) until I got into their dropoff car. Not a big deal since I had a bigger buffer anyway, but I would appreciate if dropoff/​pickup instructions email had approximate times for getting to/​from facility and maybe a link to somewhere where I can look up the actual logistics.
— The dropoff Navigator was quite old and shabby. Not a big deal, as well, but they could get a newer car sometime, especially since it was advertised as an upclass transportation somewhere on the website (maybe not anymore).

In any case, I put 5 stars since I think it’s a good idea, the folks are on the right track and are working hard to improve. I have doubts about the business model, but I hope it works out for them! I wish Flightcar well.

I have a problem. I tried to rent a vehicle from you folks the other day and I was unable to due to the fact that my license was unknowingly to me suspended. However the rental and deposit was charged on my account prior to notifying me of my inelligibility. My problem is that I have not been refunded in full but rather $ 75.00 has been kept from me with the reasoning that I cancelled the rental early. However on the flightcar website it says charges can be made after the scheduled rental, but I attempted to rent the vehicle prior to the time I had it reserved.
I tried calling your toll free support line and after being explained the charge, I asked to speak to the operators supervisor. The operator then informed me that he had no supervisor available. I then gave the operator my phone number and asked the operator to have his supervisor call me back. I have not received any calls back as of yet. That call was made yesterday.
In all it’s unfair, and deceptive to charge me $ 75 dollars to be told that your company will not rent to me, with nothing on your website saying $ 75 will be kept in the event this sort of thing occurs. Thank you.

Please don’t waste your time with this company.
I wrote a review in August about my horrible experience and my intent to seek reimbursement. I have a trail of over 10 emails with various representatives giving me responses ranging from «You will get your refund within 10 days» to «It is being processed» to «Our accounting department is undergoing restructuring…»
The first response I received was the confirmation that my reimbursement was to be deposited into my Paypal within 10 days. So why did the subsequent inquiries tell me it was still being processed?
Sounds like a whole lot of excuses and ZERO integrity.
It has been 3 months and I still have received nothing. I am currently in the process of filing my Small Claims against FlightCar, Inc.

I highly recommend avoiding this company!!!
Strike 1) I made a reservation online and they they didn’t have the car available and also gave me no heads up until I called to ask them to pick me up
Strike 2) They asked me to rent through the Alamo and then reimburse me for the difference. I thought that was a reasonable solution. But since then, I’ve submitted my receipts electronically, and they did not follow through with their refund.
Strike 3) I called their call center 3 different times over the course of these last 3 months, and even though each time the representatives assured me that they will personally talk to the finance department to get me my refund. After waiting 3 weeks after each call, I’ve realized that no action was ever taken any of those times. Last time, I told them that if I didn’t hear back, I would submit a complaint to the Better Business Bureau
Solution:
After 3 months of calling and waiting, I’ve submitted my case to the Better Business Bureau for them to help me collect my refund

Tried out FlightCar for airport parking. I listed my car a few days before, then drove in the morning of my flight. They recommend arriving 2 hours before your flight (for domestic). Once I arrived, they had me sign some electronic forms, had a quick inspection of the car, checked the mileage, then they called in a car to drive us to the airport, which arrived after a short wait. In all probably took about half an hour from the time we arrived to getting to the airport.
While your car is parked FlightCar sends notifications to you if your car gets rented out, and again when it is returned.
Our arrival flight was pretty late, around midnight. We got a text with a link to a webapp to contact them when we got back. On the webapp it gave us the option of taking a taxi to FlightCar or having them arrange an über for us. We opted for the latter. And after around 10 minutes of waiting we got a text that we should just take a taxi to FlightCar. Once we got there the attendant came out and paid for the taxi. Then handed back the keys and everything.
Overall car looked fine, didn’t find any damage, only comment was the outside was pretty dirty (dirtier then when I dropped it off). A carwash would have been nice, but I understand that they might not have had time. Overall was pretty straightforward process, some minor miscommunication with the transportation back, but everything else was pretty good, and I saved on parking.
