Albertsons

Not a bad store. I went in for some prepared food and was able to get what i wanted and a little something extra. Wasn’t horribly priced; but not super cheap either. The cashier was friendly and funny. Nice place so far to shop. In a convenient area. Well see when I go back if better or worse.

The store is sad and dismal. The lighting looks dated and gives a real drab ambiance to the entire store. High prices on basic items that you can find at any other store, especially natural or organic.
The girl «working», more so leaning on the counter, at the self check out was an ass when asked for assistance with a price.
Not worth a try. Will NEVER return.

I am not going to lie, I was expecting the lowest of low grocery store when I decided to stop here to grab a few items I needed for the week. I had no expectations. Well it’s always a nice surprise when I am completely surprised by a business and I was just that when I finished my shopping experience here.
Upon walking in its a bit underwhelming and I thought of leaving. The produce department is not going to win any awards but it is right in line with Safeway. I did buy some
Mini cucumbers that lasted maybe 2 days (that was pushing it) and then had to be thrown away.
The part that surprised me was they had some of my favorite things here that I have yet to find at my local Safeway, QFC and Target stores. My favorite yogurt flavor was here, I almost screamed I was so excited. I bought a pancake mix I have been looking for. I got everything in one stop here rather than having to check out 3 stores here in Seattle. I was really impressed.
I even went to work and in the break room talked about my great experience I had here. I wish it was a bit closer to where I live but I am willing to make the trip here once a month or so just to get some of the harder to find items.

This store is OK, it’s convenient, becuase it’s 130^th and 145^th so if you don’t feel like going to Safeway it’s close enough to grab a few items and it’s also closevto a few surrounding businesses. They no longer use discount savings card, because they keep all of their sales low enough that you’re saving all day long.
I’ve always had a great experiences every time I visit, the staffs are friendly andvit never seems to be busy or crowded. Anyway great sstore location. I will always be my occasional stopping ground.

At first glance the store’s sign is not lit… almost all the letters are burnt out, making hard to see from the streets if your not looking carefully. And parking is also shared with Petsmart so during a busy day, it might be hard to find a spot.
Just your regular go-​to grocery store. Items are well-​priced and affordable, deli has a few food choices for those looking for a quick bite, bakery also has good looking desserts and treats, and the produce department is kept clean, organized and looks fresh. The meat counter is simple, serving a small collection of meats and seafoods. The cosmetics and hygene aisle offers several known brands but not high end ones i would prefer.
As for service, cashiers are friendly but a bit slow, so for those in a hurry your best bet would be the self checkout counters.

Their «low prices» are extremely high compared to WINCO. And WINCO’s produce is much higher in quality. Every time I get meat from here it’s always too dry and doesn’t taste fresh… sadly it’s the only grocery store close by. When we shop here for two we rarely walk out with a bill under $ 50 for a couple days of snacks and lunch items. When I shop at WINCO I can get more food for less than $ 50 and it would last me a week.

This place is crazy-​good and I didn’t know what to expect but it does it for me since I am not the typical shopper. It has a punky feeling to it thanks to the individualized employees, if you’re not an old-​school type of person that knows about the kind of vertically dispensed ice-​cream fudge bars that were at the bowling alleys then you might not like a place that has its sovereign symbology of groovieness. If you’re totally out of guesses where to buy the next thing you don’t need but will absolutely feel good about spending it on something you’ll like then this is the only place you need to get your butt to.

I feel weird reviewing a grocery store, but here we go. I work a block away from this Albertson’s and used to frequently come in to grab lunch. I say ‘used to’ because I stopped getting lunch there after the third or fourth time I ended up with moldy food from something out of their pre-​made section. I still buy some non-​perishables there but avoid the premade fruit cups, cheese and grape cups, and yogurt parfaits at all costs. They also seem to be incapable of baking things like pretzels without burning them; I regularly see the bottom row of the pastry case filled with burnt things. Why bother putting them out?
Be warned that they do not have bags available at the self check out, you will have to flag someone down if you want one. Luckily, the staff here are helpful and nice and will gladly help you out.

I stopped here our of shear convenience. Traffic was bad and getting to another grocery store would have been time and fuel prohibited.
This store is run down, not the cleanest, the staff was not mean but certainly not happy either. The sanitary wipes for the cart were out, but they did have an abundance of smaller carts.
The saving grace for this visit was they had fresh free range whole chickens and bone in pork shoulders for a very reasonable price, and for that I gave them two stars.

This Albertsons is okay.
I like that they eliminated the BS «club card» thing that most major grocers cling to which is such a waste of time and a pain. I appreciate that everyone gets the same price– normal price if it’s not marked down and sale price if it’s on sale. What a novel concept!
This location is not in the greatest area. The parking lot is kind of a pain to get in and out of.
Employees seem okay.
I recently bought almond milk there that expired the next day so check your expiration dates. The milk was fine but I wish I noticed before I got home.
Prices are good. Generally better than Safeway and QFC. Can’t quite say I’m a fan of this location but it’s a-​okay and does the job.

The groceries are well priced compared to the Safeway and Fred Meyer in Lake City. The beer selection is also decent and I was able to find my favorite cider (Crispin «The Saint») for a great price! The liquor prices are also decent. The fried chicken is really good though. Seriously some of the best fried chicken I’ve had. Get your groceries here if you want a good price but go someplace else for liquor.

I’m a couponing fanatic, and Albertsons makes this incredibly easy. My favorite thing about this Albies is that their meat department has special meat dept manager coupons right on the packages — so sometimes you can really score big. The last couple weeks I’ve gotten buy 1/​get 1 free pork chops, which also had $ 3 off coupons on each package… suffice it to say, I got about 10lbs of pork chops for ~$ 4.
Crazy deals aside, I’ve always really enjoyed interacting with the employees. The checkers are friendly without being overly talkative, and they’ve endured my stacks of coupons with great aplomb every time — even when I come in with a raincheck for 20 items, which means they have to enter each of them manually in their system! Seriously, they’re troopers, and both I and my pocketbook appreciate them.
I’ve taken off a star just because the store always feels… dark to me. I have no idea why that is, except it just seems… dim. I mean, I respect them if it’s an electricity-​saving measure, and I’m probably overexposed to bright lights 24/​7, but well. Them’s the breaks!
Otherwise, a swell time is had by all, every time I go there.

I wish I had a closer Albertsons! It’s a shame that I don’t because I’m spending my money elsewhere like QFC & Safeway… when really, Albertsons deserves all my money, haha.
How delicious and how many times do I have to tell the world that Albertsons has the best chicken? For stopping by on a whim, I bought their 8 piece leg & thigh friend chicken for 5.99. YES, 5.99. that’s hella good considering 1) their chicken is juicy, plump, and RICH in flavor. Mmm. 2) Better quality chicken than Safeway (eww) 3) their chicken is just that good. I can’t say it enough, and if I have to annoy everyone, I will, just to let them know and put them on! Lol. I know… it’s just chicken. But it’s so good with all it’s juicy, fresh and tasty flavors. Trust me, they are better than Safeway & QFC (2^nd best). For a grocery store deli, I am stuck!
Otherwise, their other products are great. I love how their selections are all unique and they vary in flavors, compared to other stores. Ahh, I love you Albertsons.
The only con? It’s so far away from South Seattle. Please, Albertsons, open a location on Rainier or something! I beg of you!

If you see my reviews, you’d wonder why I’m reviewing a grocery store. Two words: Fried Chicken.
The legend of Albertson’s fried chicken has been relayed to me by various people over the years, and with each telling of the tale, I increased my skepticism and arrogance. Good fried chicken could only be found at Ezell’s, or individually made at some true southern places. I was a chicken snob.
And I’m still a chicken snob. But Albertson’s fried chicken changed my life, my perspective, and humbled me in ways that years of therapy never could.
The fried chicken is DAMN GOOD. I don’t know if it is literally the best I’ve ever had, but I’ve never had reason to question it. Like a glass of ice water on a blazing summer day, their chicken hits your craving in exactly the right way. Was the ice water from an artesian aquifer or the municipal water supply? Who cares? It was the right place at the right time.
So too is the fried chicken here. For $ 6.99 I can get EIGHT pieces of dark meat (which we all know is the best meat). Sometimes it’s on sale and it’s like $ 5 or $ 6. You can be in and out in 3 minutes, driving to wherever your fried chicken is being taken. Or wherever the fried chicken takes you. In my case, the parking lot.
If you read this and at any moment thought I was using any hyperbole at all, quit your job and leave your children and go try the chicken. See? All better.

I usually just dash into this store if I need something after my workout. The LA Fitness is right there so it very convenient. But, you know when I did my dash through this morning, grabing a few things, it finally dawned on me. I really like this store because it’s so clean and well lite. Then as, I was going out the door, there is an employee «cleaning» the special needs mobile cart. I stopped to tell her that one of reasons I like this store is because it is «Clean» and there you sit cleaning this mobile cart for your customers. Well done! I say.

You learn a lot about a place based on the restrooms. I stopped in this store because of the US Bank, then went to the restroom. O.M.G. soooooooooo gross! It looked like nobody had been in there to clean in a decade! Nasty stuff all over the floor, magazines or pamphlets all around the handicapped stall. Just really gross. Isn’t it a job duty to clean the restroom? They need some help.

So Seattle passed a law that says grocery stores can not issue plastic bags and they must charge .05 for paper bags. Ok innocent enough, its part of the deal living in the northwest. The law was passed on 12÷19÷11 and went in to effect on 7÷1÷12, so grocery stores had 6 months to get ready. Albertsons is a 6 billion dollar company owned by Cerberus, a 20 billion dollar private equity fund, yet, on 7÷1÷12 they had no bags. Zero, none. They got rid of the plastic bags because they did not want to pay the $ 250 per person fine, but they had not ordered any paper bags. They said it would be a week before they received any bags. What were people to do who did not bring their own bags? Cry… mostly…I think. Ok, fine I’ll remember to bring own bags next time. I’ll just grab a basket here and do my shopping… What…Where are the baskets?.. What do you mean you don’t have any… Customers stole them? Well it turns out that since hundreds of customers are coming to the store every day and they did not have any bags for weeks (none), customers used the shopping baskets to take their groceries home. Ok, not Albertsons fault completely but it has been 6 months. 6 whole months and they still have not replaced the baskets. The Safeway and QFC in the same neighborhood never had this problem… and 6 months later Albertsons has yet to fix it. And the paper bags they finally ordered do not have any handles. Talk about cheap penny pinching. How can I trust this company to provide me with fresh food when they are cutting corners on things like bags, and shopping baskets?

I’ve been going to this Albertsons for years, even before I lived in the neighborhood.
Likes:
— Most of the staff are excellent and I avoid the ones that are not.
— Good selection of fresh meat at a reasonable price.
— Marinades added to meat I pick out of the case.
— Fried chicken from the deli.
— Wide aisles that fit two carts side-​by-​side. This seems like a small thing but it’s not. In some stores, it’s single file only.
— Recall information that is emailed directly to me.
Dislikes:
— Very poor quality of produce.
— Baggers are not appropriately trained putting watermelons on top of eggs. Seriously? Someone needs training on that?
— More checkers would be appreciated.

I grew up near a Albertsons and had always considered it to be the store you run to when you need some quick groceries.
This location is near where I live and I decided to pop in on a Saturday morning for some groceries vs. going to the Safeway.
The one thing I remember about this location is that they are a smaller store. Their meat department is lacking (not the actual meat department but anything pre-​packaged). I’ve come more than once looking for sausage for my spaghetti and they did not have it. They only seemed to carry Bratwurst.
Their prices are a bit on the high-​end even when it’s ‘on’ sale.
If you’re just looking for something quick to finish out a recipe or craving, stop in. But otherwise, there are other places to shop at with better deals & selection.

This is an important place. After Albertson’s on 145^th closed, this became my default spot for Albertson’s doughnuts and other grocery items.
Make sure you get a circuit. Their 10 for $ 10 items are worth it. Here are 10 items worth noting if you have the opportunity to come here: 79cent Chocolate bar doughnut, Albertson’s fried chicken, an Arizona green tea (pause) that’s all you need!
This grocery store is cleanly, spacious, and a great environment for your every day needs. Albertson’s in the 130^th neighborhood beats a lot of the grocery stores around with the affordability of produce and good community of people. You will see me shop here at least twice a week.
