Oh no!!! This place looked a little grungy but was actually quite friendly, cheap and boasted a wonderful view of the harbor. It was a favorite of my cousin, pretty much a Seattle native, who covers the Texas Rangers for . Sic gloria mundi, I suppose.

Came for monday wings night. Felt like I had to wait forever for wings even though the place wasn’t that busy, and the worst thing: they don’t make regular menu items! just wings! I wanted a sandwich or something and ended up leaving still hungry.

Fun place with a wild grace. Awesome beer selection on tap 9 – 15 different beers, right now they have Old Sea Lager, Irish Death, Irish Ale, Mannys, salmon Bay special Bitter, Moose Droolbrown ale, SuperGoon IPAD by Hales, Shock Top Belgium white and Red Menace. Thursday nights beside being the spot foor bikers gathering every thurs pm during the summer is also taco night for a $ 1 ea. A sure place to take a date or someone new to Seattle and just sit have a few brews and look at the city skyline afloat on the sound. FUNCOOLPLACE!

Hands down the last real old school tavern around. Behind the bar you have a laundry list of real, down to earth people. From the friendly owner Gil, to the mustachio’d badassery that is Andy; you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the staff. Oh, and the tuna melt will blow your mind all over your face. Enjoy.

Great locals’ bar with taco thursdays, friendly service. We always come here with a group of 5 – 15 regularly, and always still get the same great service from Gus. Best dive bar with a million dollar view!

Who doesn’t like good food for cheap prices. If you love tacos or mini burgers and are in West Seattle then give these guys a chance.

The dollar burgers are good, the place isnt too clean, and sometimes you cant find a seat. It just depends on what time or what day you get in there. I dig the dollar burgers, theyre pretty killer, especially with all the fixings set on the side to customize to your taste.

I just love the Alki Tavern! I pop in about once a month and am always greeted with a big hug and a smile from both Lou and Megan, the best bartender’s in the world. :) Last night my friend was really hungry and the kitchen was closed, but Megan went and made him a sandwich anyway. Now that is service, get me tipsy and feed me a samitch! ;)

Again when visiting my parents in Seattle my dad took me here as one of his favorite dives. This place is a perfect little hole in the wall that has a very friendly bartender, good selection of beers on tap, a cool wall of beer taps on display and a KILLER location for the best view in Seattle… if in theis part of town do yourself a favor and stop in for some refueling.

How do you feel about $ 1 burgers on Tuesdays? ‘Cause I feel pretty good about it. Located across from the Alki boat launch, AT is recognizable because it looks like the opening scene to Terminator, with classic rock blasting out the front of a building lined with motor cycles of the ‘real man’ variety. And by ‘real man’ I mean mustacheoed, because you ain’t a real man without a lip handle-bar, babyface. Inside looks like a love child between a church-basement pancake breakfast and a Red State fundraiser, with an enormous flag covering the ceiling, some wooden booths, and a few collapsible tables with chairs. There’s also a pool table, a juke box, and a cash only bar. At the back is the grill, which, while cheap and tasty, does not have a fryer, which tragically negates the possibility of fries or similar artery-hardening goodies. Fun spot, sometimes rowdy crowd, pool table, and cheap eats. Throw on your stars-n-stripes bandana and get your ass down here!

This place made me smile the minute I walked in the door. What a view of downtown Seattle. Great selection of micro beers on tap. The place has been here for 35 years and owned by the same guy. It’s a truly beautiful dive bar. Everything old & worn. A picture of a young Johnny Cash flipping the bird to somebody, with feeling! I had a patty melt & it was great and greasy(five napkins)! This is the Joe Jost’s(Long Beach, CA.) of Seattle. I love this place!

This was our kind of place. Not much to look at from the outside, but once inside it is full of personality. Anywhere that has Johnny Cash rocking when you first walk in is good in our book. We started off the night with 2 beers for us and 10 burgers for our group and it was still only $ 15.50 before tip. I was impressed that they had the #1 ingredient out for my burgers: jalapenos. Here we thought for $ 1 each that they would be tiny sliders, but no they were normal BBQ size burgers. To top it all off they have cheap games of pool and darts. Both are essential for a good bar.

This is a dive that is out of control. Had some Mac n’ Jacks African Amber. Loved the weird patio furniture in the front, the tap display on the wall and the vibe that the whole place was made out of plywood. The day we rolled through, they were hosting a chicken wing grill-off. Definitely wished I could find this in Minneapolis.

This is a true, down and dirty dive. The real deal. It makes the Smoke Shop look like Vessel. We wandered in here a few weeks ago after the West Seattle Shuttle Incident of 2009, in search of beer and a potty. Fortunately for us, this place specializes in both. The dive factor is off the charts here. As you approach, there’s a mix of decrepit patio furniture and old booth seating, set up as make shift benches. It’s quite a sight… almost worth the trip to Alki alone. Indoors is just as lovely, with old beer signage(not of the nostalgic variety, but more of the early 90s Budweiser girls in bad bikinis we all know and love) a couple of tvs, and what is probably best described at a drunk attempt at the Belagio’s Chihuli. Old moldy beer umbrellas(Guinness, Harp, Bud) turned upside down to cover the ceiling in what’s probably the most interesting piece of art work I’ve ever seen in a bar. The staff here was ‘real po-lite’ when we were in. They’ve got some decent beers on tap(I don’t even want to think about their draft lines– Eeek!) and various bottles. On this particular day, the bartender was so happily pouring shots of port wine(it was about 80 degrees out) for those who were up for it. Apparently shooting port wine is the in, new thing? Cash only and forget about the ATM working. It’s empty. Also just forget about the random boxes of clothing or sporting goods in the corners and pull up a stool, or whatevers available and have a beer in one of Seattle’s finest.

*happily sighs* wimpy burgers($ 1 each) on tuesdays marked my first expedition to the alki tavern. i figured i would take a dive off of pier 55 and go for a quick swim over to west seattle… not a big deal except for the fact that i had a little bit of seaweed stuck to my pants when i got out of the water… ok dream sequence over now ;) i have a special place in my heart for dive bars… this one now joins the short list of favorite dives in bernie’s happy little heart :) the service is genuinely nice and for being a dive, the women’s bathroom isn’t bad at all! and after a few too many $ 1 burgers, what better than to walk it off by heading down alki ave and enjoying the nice view! i shall be back soon dear alki tavern… hope you’re ready for me… bye bye! :)

When there’s posters of topless women in their skimpy Bay Watch suit from behind holding a six pack of Rainier, is there any question about what kind of bar you’re in? Beer was cold and people were nice then I was really confused when I ordered a bacon cheeseburger… it was actually better than most sit down places! To boot, it was only $ 3! This is a biker bar but all people are welcomed! I’ll have to come back on Thursday to try out their infamous tacos!

First off I’m not a biker chick and I’m not road hard or put away wet but I use to frequent the Tav a lot back in the day. I love dive bars and the Tav has got to be the divey-est bar I have ever been too and I’ve been to my fair share. I have fond memories of this place, I had my first black and tan here and that’s when I learned I don’t like stouts. I also developed a school girl crush on one of the bikers who looked like Sam Elliott from the movie RUSH, why I had crush on him I’m not sure he was old enough to be my father, I think it was the whole bad boy leather biker thing he had going on, plus he was super nice to me. Awe those were the days. Go during the summer on a nice Thursday night for tacos and Harley ‘s. People from all around show up on bikes to eat tacos, drink beer and be merry together. It’s a tavern so its beer and wine only and the ladies room is pretty bad but after half a dozen beers you won’t care.
