Nothing to write home about. I got a mocha which was alright, but with so many other coffee options around I won’t be stopping back in.

By far the best coffee shop I have ever walked into. This place would be my number one choice for a coffee date in Seattle. Anchored Ship has a cozy ambience combined with great tasting coffee. Soy mocha is my favorite; theirs has a smoky aftertaste and is not too acidic.

They serve some good coffee here. I tried their ice coffee. It was smooth, nutty, and dark with no weird after taste. What more could I ask for? The employees were very friendly and very hipster looking. They weren’t in a rush – even though they had people coming in and out – and they had conversations with the customers.

I love their Lavender Chai! A cute spot to go for coffee while exploring the streets of Ballard.

I feel conflicted. The location and ambiance of the space is rustic, quaint, and very pleasant, and the staff here is absolutely amazing– they are incredibly personable and friendly. The downside, however, is that the service can be a little slow, and I’m not a fan of the coffee beans they use. Despite what tasty caffeinated concoctions they make, the beans lack the coffee bean flavor and produce a more sour taste.

This place is hands down one of my favorites! The décor was excellent, and the café itself had a nice set up. The upstairs loft was nice and cozy, and the wooden décor gave off a very urban vibe. Being right in downtown Ballard, this place was at a perfect location and I’ll be sure to come back often.

Adorable spot. Small and well-designed. Nice rustic feel. Delicious Counter Culture Coffee. Delightful staff.

An Instagramers dream, this is such a quaint little coffee shop with so many darling details. Seriously, even the bathroom has some cute details. The upstairs loft area is adorable(though very tiny, only a table and a small couch) with a fun printed wallpaper. Even in the winter it was pretty toasty up there, so beware. I love a good chai tea latte and the one I had was pretty good, though it could have been more creamy. It was a bit watery for my taste but still tasty. Since there isn’t much seating area in the place, it won’t be too noisy and is a cozy place to read or do some homework. I don’t recommend doing your hardcore exam studying here but it’s a nice place to get out of the UDistrict if you are a student and looking for a change of scenery.

Every turn and detail is a photograph in this quaint and inviting small coffee shop. Offering friendly service and a great starting location for Ballard Avenue shoppers, this stop is great for small groups looking for great coffee and perhaps a study space, and for those who aren’t looking for noisy atmospheres. I had an iced Americano with simple syrup.

Such a cute little spot in Ballard! The place is very very small but it has a lot of character. They also have a couple of outdoor seatings which is nice for the summer. I had the iced vanilla latte and it was one of the best. They have other flavors there too but I want to try. Definitely would recommend this place and will be taking out of town friends here!

Awesome little spot. I really like how well they use the tiny space, it makes it a really unique and inviting café. Had the iced vanilla latte and it was just what the doctor ordered on this blisteringly hot day. Great first impression, I look forward to trying this place again!

My husband felt that their mochas were fairly average. I had their iced tea, which was also average. With two people working, the turn-around was surprisingly slow. It is unlikely I’ll be by again, I prefer to stop at Fresh Flours where they have coffee, tea, plus a huge selection of pastries.

Probably the best cup of lavender chai I’ve ever had! The chai is not overpowering, which I LOVE because I’m not the biggest fan of chai. Now I wish I got a bigger size than an 8oz. The café itself feels so cozy and homey. I can probably stay here for hours if I had homework or just to read! This place is kind of a trek for me to get to from my home, but it’s definitely worth the journey for this place! Will definitely be back again and again!

This is a beautiful little shop and while it’s not totally unique in its hipsterish feel(Arabica on Cap Hill had a similar 60s mod décor), they took the time to pay attention to detail. It’s a cozy little hangout spot, but you will have to fight for space as it becomes more popular. My latte, however, was just slightly better than mediocre. The espresso beans they used aren’t complimentary for lattes(kinda bitter, better than Starbucks, not not better than say Vivace or Victrola).

Super cute little coffee bar on Ballard Ave! My friend and I walked in on Sunday while the Farmer’s Market was going on and, not to my surprise, it was packed. I think timing was everything when it comes down to it. We left and came back around 3pm and it was pretty empty — I found it really enjoyable. We sat by the window and were able to people watch, take pictures, relax and chat! The baristas were friendly, their coffee is comparable with other places in Seattle(very minimal differences), but my friend got the Lavender Chai and said it was really good – I’ll definitely try that next time!

Cool little coffee bar tucked into a small storefront in Ballard. It is quite cramped inside so be prepared to get jostled. Or better yet, sit outside for some fine people watching on Ballard ave. The coffee was pretty good though didn’t really stand out. Staff was very friendly.

Anchored Ship is the kind of coffee shop I usually tell people about who aren’t familiar with the nuances of Seattle café culture: open windows, excellent coffee and little snacks, and fortunately staff who are knowledgeable about their product without the snarky, negative attitude. Anchor also has a primo location on Ballard Ave., guaranteeing ample foot traffic during the Ballard Farmers Market and nearby to various other restaurant and retail space. Anchored Ship is also adorable: while the space itself is small, bordering on tiny, its fairly streamlined and homey feeling without feeling cluttered, and the loft above the espresso bar helps create more space for visiting, socializing, or reading. The loft does include a pair of small tables and a couch, while the downstairs space has designated window stools and a separate long table(good for a small group, though a bit wobly for my tastes, but still serviceable). My coffee has always been excellent, smooth with well steamed milk, and the prices are fair. Street parking is ample, but as with most in demand neighborhoods, may be not quite as ample as you may be used to if you’re from the burbs.

Please post your coffee prices in the store. We all know coffee inflation has hit Seattle because people will pay unreasonable prices just for the convenience, even if the coffee doesn’t deserve it. This is definitely a convenient stop when strolling through the farmers’ market. I feel paying $ 1-$ 2 for drip coffee is acceptable. On principle, when there a dozen shops to visit nearby, I will not pay over $ 2 for drip. An 8 oz is $ 2, which is a tad high for that size, but not unreasonably so. The coffee was perfectly acceptable. However, not listing the price results in either unnecessary conversation for the customer(and barista) to find out the price, or it results in someone potentially being trapped into paying more than they’d like for coffee after it’s been poured. I enjoyed your coffee, but I would appreciate prices being listed to make for a quicker and more transparent transaction.

Anchored Ship Coffee Bar is a cute, charming, albeit too tiny shop where you can order a cup of joe. I’m giving my experience a 3.5 star rating. Located on a main street in Ballard, it’s very close to where they set up the farmer’s market. Anchored Ship Coffee has a very casual(almost hipster-ish) setting, typically with adorable ornaments or handmade decorations on their main display window. I’ve ordered a regular latte and a chai tea on previous occasions, which were ultimately average tasting. The pastry selections didn’t seem to be mind blowing, since they weren’t made onsite, but the baristas seemed very friendly in general. Though the coffee was okay, the experience was pleasant and it was a nice way to spend a lazy Sunday. I wouldn’t mind coming back if I was in the Ballard area again.

Amazing Coffee Experience. I have made a habit out of coming here once on the weekends and getting a half sweet carmel late. That plus a stroll though Ballard in the morning is quite nice. Even on busy Ballard ave this place has a relaxed local feel. Hands down my favorite coffee spot in Ballard. There is not a ton of room to sit and hang out but there always seems to be a spot to sit. Probably because there a lots of people like me enjoying this lovely coffee experience while its still peaceful int he morning. If you like quality coffee this place is a must try in my book.
