The food here is really good! Their pasta is amazing. Their prices are really good compared to other places in the same area, and their portions are really large-which is super great! I ordered the Vongole once and the clams were huge! This is my favorite dish to order at any italian place so I’ve eaten this dish quite a bit. I was in the middle of eating and then saw this REALLYBIG clam that looked like it was barely cooked. Not caring I took a bite anyway: it tasted like the ocean I then had this awful ocean raw fish taste in my mouth and couldn’t eat another clam. I’m sure it was just a one time occurrence, and if I were to order t again the clams would all be fully cooked. I came here a second time and got a pasta with saffron sauce which was also really good-and big! This place can get pretty crowded, and when it is it’s a SUPER tight squeeze-you’re seated pretty close to other guests. But my boyfriend and I went in on a Saturday without a reservation and were seated right away. The host is really super friendly!

With Italian food that’s as excellent as the owner is charming, Assaggio arguably has the best pasta in Seattle. Everything on the menu is great(I’ve yet to have a bad dish at Assaggio), but the zafferano pasta is notably different & memorably delicious. Definitely a must try.

Fortunate enough to enjoy our holiday team lunch at this gem. The service is amazing while the food is spectacular. We had the white lasagna… It was to die for! Pasta cooked perfectly! The tiramisu was light, fluffy and delicious. I will be back!

This was a really fun experience overall! I dined last night and the restaurant host and hostess had us all join in on a 12 days of Christmas sing a long which was hilarious! First, we received bread and a roasted garlic and sun dried tomato olive oil for dipping. We ordered a 3 pasta sampler platter and thought the sauces were delicious! The pasts was a little too al dente for my taste but I would still say it was 4 star pasta. The dessert was a super cute lemon sorbet served inside of a lemon.

You cannot go wrong — every dish and drink are excellent. The atmosphere created by Mauro and his staff are unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. Everyone who walks through that door is family. Excellent place to celebrate, transact business, relax, and eat. I will be a lifelong customer.

My favorite restaurant in Seattle! Love the food, the staff and everything about this place. Have been coming here every time we stop in for business. Haven’t had a bad thing on the menu, and the owner Mauro treats us like family with a hug and nice gesture every time we show up. Above and beyond service. You don’t get places like this in every city, I’m jealous of the Seattle natives.

Delicious!!! We had the Cesare, Beets, Margherita pizza, pasta sampler(orrechiete, lasagna, sienese, dessert: affogato and salted caramel martini. Great flavors in the sauces — light, not heavy… also, pasta cooked perfectly! –1 star for how many people they pack in — i get trying to accommodate but when people are brushing up against you to walk by it’s just too much while trying to enjoy your meal.

Overall delicious and quick service. I wasn’t in love with all the pastas in my 3 — pasta sampler, so I’ll just choose more carefully next time. My favorite was the gnocchi.

Came here for a friends bday during restaurant week. This was recommended by a coworker and I am glad we went. When we first got there, it was a little noise, but after about 15 min it definitely quieted down. We each had a different pasta and they all tastes different and good in their own way. The waiter was nice enough to let us try a little of their somewhat fried cauliflower. I usually don’t like cauliflower, but this one actually tasted very good. Our waiter was super nice, polite and helpful! For the desserts we had he vanilla lavender ice cream and the lemon sorbet. Both tasted very good. I loved the lemon sorbet that came in an actual lemon shell. Will definitely Coke back here.

Almost feeling like a place that could have been in the movie The Godfather, Assaggio is an extremely well run Italian restaurant. And when I say extremely well run, I mean this place could give virtually any other restaurant I’ve been to … in the world … lessons in service. From the friendly and helpful maitre’d to the extremely competent and personable waiter(complete with slick Italian accent) and even the busboy who reminded me of Mister Deeds’ ninja butler, passing quickly by and leaving us with filled drinks and a clean table. The service was just tremendous(doubly so as Seattle is still trying to find itself in the service industry). On to the food. Assaggio’s sports the type of dishes one expects to see in a fine Italian restaurant as well as treating it’s patrons to some really well thought out mouth watering specials. All food was prepared excellently and extremely good. Even better, the portions are actually correctly sized for a person who actually wants to sample more than a single course. An extreme rarity in American dining these days. Pricing is about what you would expect for a classy downtown establishment but definitely worth the few extra bucks here. While Assaggio isn’t the best Italian food I’ve ever had, it does rate in my Top 10 and its’ service rates in my Top 5. HUGE thumbs up!

First this place is more $$ than $$$. Came here on a Tuesday for lunch and grabbed a table right away. No need to make reservations during lunch. The oil they provide with the complimentary bread is quite delicious — make sure you put the garlic and tomatoes on your bread. The bread itself was okay, preferred it being fresh baked. I got the Vongole(linguine with clams in white wine sauce) and seafood pasta(special of the day: angel hair, shrimp, crab, and other seafood). The linguine and angel hair were cooked perfectly. The seafood was good as well — the clams needed to be cleaned more thoroughly as there was some sand, but minimal. Price was reasonable about $ 16 a plate in a romantic nice setting in downtown seattle.

Would’ve been nice if they asked if I wanted the food left on my plate to go. I had half of my delicious chicken risoto left sitting there, unable to fit in my belly and because my napkin was out of my lap and on the counter, they wisked my plate and food away never to be seen again! Service is so quick that I didn’t get a chance to chase him down as he trotted into the kitchen. Otherwise, the food was delish! Pricey, but worth it. Don’t be surprised if you get turned away for a table on a Friday or Saturday evening… the restaurant gets crazy full.

Outstanding Italian food and best of class service… Mauro has a passion for great food and the experience in his restaurant is like being in Italy. Always stop in for dinner when in Seattle!

When you’re here, you’re family. Sure the food is great and the service is good but it’s more than that and all thanks to one man, Mauro Golmarvi, and the team he’s assembled to bring your family together. With his. Familiar faces fill Assaggio or maybe that’s just how it seems to me, knowing I’m home. A warm hug and kiss from Mauro reminds me why I’m here. That and the pasta! I’m a sucker for a good ragú. Throw in some wild boar and I’m sold. The Cinghiale with it’s wide, fresh pasta holds tight to the sauce. At $ 17.95 it’s more than enough to eat now or even take some home. Sadly, it’s hard for me to order anything else when I’m here but I’m happy to suggest the Penne with vodka, Cozze’s white wine sauce is great for the lighter appetite. The atmosphere is very flexible from business casual to date night dressy. No judgment here but you might want to make a reservation for Weekend nights. There’s a great bar, perfect for two for that last minute rendezvous. Don’t just take my word for it, you don’t even know me. What I do suggest is make your way down to Assaggio and try it for yourself. The food will speak for itself. And what it can’t say, I’m sure Mauro will. Mangia! Mangia!

Delicious!!! The food was to die for, especially the ravioli! The huge scallop melted like butter in my mouth… it was so good. The pasta sampler was amazing. I loved the linguine and clams, but the smoke salmon pasta was alright, but still pretty good. Oh and the soft bread and the delicious garlic, capers, etc., etc., olive oil was aahhhmazing! Our starter Caesar salad was pretty good too! The owner is so friendly and recognized my last name was Italian. Most people think«Navigato» is Japanese or something. so points for him! Service was fast and it was an awesome birthday dinner. Go here!!!

I love the atmosphere. Old building — crowded and makes me feel like I am back in NYC. The service was excellent and I really enjoyed the food. This is our second or third time here over the years and I have always enjoyed coming here. It is like a local restaurant were everyone is having a great time. We shared the PEPPERONI Pizza with fresh mozzarella and marinara sauce and while the pepperoni wasn’t the best I have had the overall pizza was OK We also shared the BOLOGNESE spaghetti with classic Italian meat sauce based on some recommendations from other Unilocal and enjoyed it. Very tasty. I would recommend this place for a overall great city Italian experience.

Unplanned, un-researched, last minute dinner because we were starving and it was close to our hotel… and it was delicious! Oh my goodness, the Cinghiale was amazing — homemade pappardelle with wild boar ragu. One of my top 10 pastas ever! I will be coming back just for this dish. The arancini appetizer was a small serving, but very good. And the tiramisu was one of the best I’ve ever had… a close second. If you like tiramisu, it’s a must have. The pizza wasn’t great, especially when you have Serious Pie around the corner. But everything else was very tasty. All my friends enjoyed their meals. Good location, quaint little vibe, friendly service and very reasonable prices.

THISISMYFAVORITEITALIANRESTAURANTINSEATTLE!!! For the longest time it was Cuoco down by South Lake Union but Assaggio has beat it. Went here with a friend and for an appetizer we ordered their carpaccio with fried capers oh dear god it was amazing. It was my first time trying carpaccio so I was super excited and was NOT let down! My friend and I both loved their garlic oil that comes with to dip the bread in. The space is tight and our table was tiny but it doesn’t even matter because their food is legit. I ordered some boar parpadelle dish and I honestly have to say it was the best pasta I’ve had in Seattle. If you live wide noodle pasta dishes, I DEF recommend you order whatever parpadelle dish is on the menu at the time! The service was superb. Our server was extremely helpful and nice. I had an amazing meal here and cannot wait to go back!
