Ballard mini storage is very friendly from the moment you walk in when Katie or Adam says hi to the goodbyes. I would recommend this to anyone who wants their items to be taken care.

I highly recommend Ballard Mini Storage. Moving is so much more of a pleasant experience when renting from friendly and caring storage folks! They have great rates, free Keurig coffee, cameras and over all wonderful customer service. This entire place has had a major facelift and I love the way it now looks. It is a very iconic building, now painted blue, on Ballard Avenue. The place seems to be in high demand because there were not many storage units available, so I would say to call in advance. If you live in a condo when you don’t have much room either, this place would be a great solution. If you don’t have concierge at home, Ballard Mini Storage also accept packages :-)

After being excellent customers for the last 3 years, we moved out of 1 of the 2 units we rent on July 1. We assumed that we wouldn’t be charged for July. The manager informed us that we didn’t give a ten day notice and that the automatic payment had already be made. Instead of crediting our other unit or prorating the bill, we were told there was nothing they could do.
Be sure to sign up for auto pay. We started out manually sending them money in the beginning. Big mistake! They will hound you to no end evening when the payment isn’t late. Also, on two occasions they lost our debit card information for auto pay and we had to do paper work all over again…

I don’t know about the rest of the building but be warned that renting one of the basement spaces is at the peril of your belongings. We had one of the basement spaces for a few years and when we went there recently to move our stuff out we found everything was ruined. There was water damage and severe mold. A carpet I was storing was chewed up and full of rat dung. Most everything we had stored there had to be taken to the dump, including wooden furniture that was moldy beyond repair. The attitude of the woman working at the desk to these problems was extreme indifference.
My recommendation: save your money and take your belongings straight to the dump before storing anything here.

After putting stuff in storage — I lost my job and could not afford to store here anymore. I contacted them and was told that my account was closed and my credit card had been pulled and would not be charged. That they would acution off my stuff in the locker. I was fine with that. Then they didn;t charge me for June and then charged my account for June and July. I am now homeless and they are still charging me.

This is a great storage place. The women who manage it are friendly and organized. The place is tidy and well laid out. I never had any issues and always found parking right in front for easy loading and unloading.

I’ve had a storage unit (or two at times) here for over 7 years and it’s always been good but the improvements they’ve made lately are much appreciated. Fresh paint, clean office, cheerful attentive staff. It’s a pleasure to chat with them and it’s nice to know that my storage unit is being managed by people who care about keeping the place in good condition. I highly recommend it.

I have had a storage unit and mailbox at this facility for almost three years, and have had zero problems with them. To be honest, I loved the old cranky Ballard dudes who used to run this place, and I was sad to see them go, but the new owners have really put in the time and effort to spruce up the place and improve security. The rent on my storage unit went up $ 10 a month since they started making these improvements, but it’s worth it. And the staff is friendly.

I have been with this storage facility since 1989. I have never had a problem with this company. Infact, they would go out of there way to call me so I would not have to pay the late fee. I would recommend this place over any other. Thanks for taking good care of me.

Take a large, unfinished, concrete wall and floor basement, throw a ton of plywood into it, erect walls & doors to specifications that equal a capacity of about 210 cubic feet, and what do you have?
My storage unit!
It’s not big, it’s not luxurious, it’s not even air-​conditioned! There’s no running water; I couldn’t live in it if I wanted to. But it stays between 60 and 65 degrees, a decent temperature for my maturing homebrew. What more can I ask for? Oh, and I get to keep my books, my camping equipment, and all the clothes I should really just donate in the little plywood box, too.
The employees, Mike and … um, Mike? are decent guys, my unit only costs me about $ 50 per month, and my stuff has never been stolen. Yet. My only gripe is that they close at 6pm and are not open on holidays; there’s no 24-​hour entry. But then, I knew it when I got my storage unit.
Oh, and they offer mailboxes too, $ 10 per month if you’ve already got a storage unit.
