To preface this review, I would like to state that I created a Unilocal account specifically to review this apartment complex. I moved in with my sister in October of 2011 and moved out in August of 2012 to attend university in New York. My sister remained in the apartment and her friend took over my portion of the lease. All of this was approved by the apartment manager and all of the necessary documents were signed. After studying abroad for several months this summer, I returned to a voicemail from Puget Sound Energy stating that they had been trying to reach me but the mail was returned as they still had my address at the Bancroft. I returned the call, and was told that they had been trying to send me a bill for $ 136.00 for a period of time ending in February of 2014 and beginning sometime after both my sister and I had moved out of the apartment. I explained to the gentleman at PSE that not only had I not been living at the Bancroft for this time, I hadn’t even lived in Seattle, and that I had informed PSE when I moved that I was to be removed from the account and at their direction had asked the apartment manager of the Bancroft to take me off of the account, an action that PSE tells me he did not complete. Because I was abroad and unreachable by phone, the bill was sent to a collections agency, whom I immediately contacted to dispute the charge. In the last two weeks, I have sent two emails to the Bancroft management explaining my predicament, left a voicemail, and emailed the leasing company that is in charge of the Bancroft. I have not heard anything back, while in the meantime my credit is being negatively affected by what amounts to the oversight of the management at the Bancroft, something that I would find easily forgivable had any of my emails or my voicemail been answered. It is unfortunate that such a negative experience two years after I have moved out is overshadowing what was a relatively pleasant living experience, but as a student applying for student loans, this is a very serious issue.

Horrible apartment complex. My GF lived there for 2 years and there were multiple items broken which the landlord never fixed after 4 plus requests(he is apparently a really lazy guy) and then after she moved out he kept about 500 dollars of the 600 dollar damage deposit. Example, he listed that he had to have a maid service come in for 6 hours at 35 dollars per hour(which is complete bs, the place was 500 sq/ft max and super clean after we moved out). Also, he entered her dwelling on multiple occasions without notification(neighbors alerted us to this). She is now renting a room in a house and is much better off.
