Great menu that, as far as I can tell, is executed well. Big issue is the service. What we got was delicious. However, we weren’t brought what we ordered in a cadence that made any sense(had to ask for everything before it was brought out) and the dish we looked forward to the most was never delivered.

Hipster fare and service. The staff was really unconcerned that we were there, but still took our order and brought out our food. While we each ordered out own dish, they brought them out whenever they were done. It’s a tapas style place, so I guess I get it, except that the bread that went with the butter chicken(since they were out of papadams) came out 10 minutes after the dish. Not sure why that was. Ambiance, music, and overall vibe was really nice though. Food: Butter chicken– 4, curry sauce flavor-4.5 Duck– 3 Broccoli– 1. Burnt and extremely salty.

An interesting little boîte, the layout is narrow & crammed with a few too many tables, so it will be noisy & you will be hip-checked if you have the chair on the outside. The cocktails were the main star of our visit, we really enjoyed them(a Manhattan & a Porch Swing.) We ordered several plates to share; the calamari stood out as the best, and the oysters were really excellent(if a bit pricey… but they seemed in line with other local menus. Perhaps I am just unaccustomed to Seattle prices.) Too noisy for intimate conversation, but a fun spot for a late bite/nightcap.

Black Bottle is open late till midnight! I suggest you order their Spicy Seared Yellow-Fin Tuna. It was absolutely delicious. Their pickled mackerel according to my colleague, was quite scrumptious. Ambiance here was nice and modern. There is a full bar which is a great option especially when they get busy. If there was anything our whole team noticed, we all agreed that staff was a bit off the night we dined in, especially our waiter where he could’ve been friendlier. Until then, be kind to one another and Cheers! ~ :p

This place was delicious. We got the boar ribs, prosciutto flatbread, cauliflower fritters, hangar steak, pork belly, duck breast, scallops, 7 spice shrimp, and taro chips. The best items were the hangar steak, pork belly and duck breast. The meat was super tasty, flavorful, and tender. It was so so so good. The prosciutto flatbread was also good, but I think it was too large for tapas size. The crust was so buttery delicious. The worst was the boar ribs and the cauliflower fritters. The boar ribs came cold and I think it just went downhill from there. The cauliflower fritters were just missing something. The scallops were good but not the best I ever had. The 7 spice shrimp were so spicy! I could not eat it. It looked delicious though. They were nice enough to give us a side of taro chips when requested. I love taro chips.

This is the list of the tapas we got: Crispy Fried Chicken And Collard Greens: the collard greens were not my favorite, but I have to blame my personal taste for that, because they were juicy, meaty, well cooked and not bitter like often happens, The fried chicken was perfect in size and portability, tender but not very juicy: the best part was a perfectly deep fried batter, not greasy at all. Blasted Broccoli: everyone raving about this dish made me want to try it. Broccoli are definitely blasting with flavor, they probably cook them on direct heat, thus creating a crispy almost burn exterior. Good but not special. The Calamari Fra Diavolo had a definite lemon taste, and paired with the tomato sauce balanced the dish a little on the acidic side. The texture idea was however brilliant: the soft chunks of tomatoes in the sauced were paired with the signature texture of the calamari and the crispiness of croutons. Deep fried Spanish Olives: the slight acidity made me think they probably add brine to the batter of the olives. These were nice, a good imitation of Olive Ascolane, but not really a fair comparison to the original. They came with a pepper sauce that had a nice nutty undertone. Flatbread with Brie, Leek, French Country Pesto: beside the fact that as an Italian, I am kind of puzzled at the idea of French Pesto, I liked this flatbread. The individual ingredients are on a wide range of flavor, ranging between the sweetness of the caramelized leek to the bitterness of the black olives, but they work well together. Desserts: my husband wanted the mousse but they were out, so later we found out they took 50% off the chocolate cake he got instead, which was a nice touch. The chocolate cake with vanilla gelato was dense but delicate, not too heavy; the gelato was good, definitely gelato and not ice cream, but I saw very few specks of vanilla beans peppered through. Definitely there, but not enough. My Peach and Blueberry Kettle Tart needed an applause. Buttery flaky crust, served in a cute cast iron baby pan, sublime caramelization on the bottom, reminded me of a kouing amman. The fruity filling was very nice, smooth, velvety, the blueberries softened and the nice meaty peaches. The crust was sweetened, while the filling was only natural sugar: an interest choice, but the balance was spot on. It came with cream, but I opted out because that seemed unnecessary. General stuff: very very good and nice service, Chase was the best and gave good suggestions. They tell you how long it will take for a dish to be ready and every dish came out at a nice pace, with reasonably brief interval among them. The ambiance is nice, elegant minimalist, maybe a bit too dark for my taste, but again, this is Black Bottle. Will definitely go back.

Ahhh high hopes for bomb tapas restaurant got crushed unfortunately. 3 girls, ordered 5 dishes, perfect amount of food. Service was friendly, but the food wasn’t good and I wouldn’t come back. Food was 2.5 stars, good service bumped it up to 3. Below is my review of the dishes we had in order from good to bad. BACONLEMONSCALLOPS W/KALE was my favorite of the night. The scallops were prepared nicely. It’s difficult to prepare perfect scallops with the perfect crisp wrapped bacon(I know because I’ve tried and failed miserably). Kale was good, wish there was more of it! LAMBMEATBALLS&HUMMUS was a loaded plate. Good«bang for your buck» in quotes because it’s only comparatively to the other menu items, overall the food is pricey. Nothing special or standout about this dish. HANGERSTEAK&DAIKON/SHISO meat was prepared to a perfect medium rare. However, the sauce was way too salty and overpowered everything on the dish. They tried to «Asian fusion» this, but it did not work. FRIEDCALAMARI W/GOCHUJANG was not good. They also tried to «Asian fusion» it up by adding some Korean influence, but the calamari was not fried well and the sauce was too overpowering. ENOKIDATESPEPPERS&GRILLEDGREEKHALLOUMICHEESE was recommended to us by the waitress, also has lots of Unilocal pics so decided to try. Ok, first off, THEYAREN’T ENOKIMUSHROOMS! The flavor profile was so strange and the cheese was dry and way too salty– did not add anything to the dish at all. Couldn’t finish this dish.

We order the lemon-ginger ceviche with taro crisps and the farmer’s market roasted vegetables dish. Absolutely loved it. It was Thursday evening and we didn’t have to wait at all for a part of two. Great service, good portions, okay lighting.

I haven’t been back to this place in 5 years and I was so excited that this trip I had time to drop by. Well I wished I hadn’t wasted my time and I went somewhere else… it used to be this like super cool cosy place… now it’s just an overrun loud place. With snotty atmosphere and weird waitstaff. Also while I was eating I stopped to look at my phone there was clearly food on my plate and this waiter comes by and say starts to take my plate away and while his hands are on my plate then asks me if I am done… dude I took a break… get your hands off my plate. There were empty tables all around me so it’s not like they needed the table or anything… I felt rushed and unwelcome at a place I used to love coming to. I won’t be back nor will I recommend this place to anyone. Thanks but no thanks

Do not be fooled by Unilocal, the blasted broccoli is not as good as everyone says! It was a nice place and fun to be able to try a bunch of things with a bunch of people. I think my favorite dish was the dates and halloumi, probably not because it was the best executed but just because I love dates and halloumi. Some good beers on tap but a pretty small menu.

I called a week in advance to make dinner reservations for a party of 7 for a Thursday night. Day of, I got stuck in bad traffic going to and from the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival so I called right when they opened and was able to push out my reservation to 8 pm. So that was great! Food wise, it is tapas style, we got a bit of everything. — blasted broccoli — spiced shrimp — kimchi pork belly — a couple of the flat breads — lamb meatballs and hummus my favorites were the kimchi pork belly(favorite favorite) and the lamb meatballs were displayed very nicely and looked super appetizing! It was my bday, so they brought me a bday treat which was sweet and delicious! My friends covered the meal, so price wise, I would say it was a lil on the pricey side. Dark and quaint atmosphere.

This place is pretty pricey, but their HH taco prices are not too shabby! Their tacos are pretty good. Ordered their bale breaker, 7 seas pilsner, bb negroni, beet gratin, duck breast, ginny cricket, oj/cran shrub, carne tacos, broccoli dish, hendricks, bangkok punch, old ronin, rachles ginger beer, ribs, scallop and tofu. This place has a fancy touch. They serve big groups too! It’s so gorgeous inside. In the back where we sat, it’s like a hidden room, had no idea they had all that space… it has beautiful décor. And good food! You can literally have a nice dinner or gathering there for sure!

First time at Black Bottle for HH with a few of my friends. Don’t know why I thought the HH has more food items, but definitely only has one item: tacos. Drink: I got the Porch Swing because I’ve been into grapefruit lately. Chose the Korean bbq pork taco for HH for $ 2. It was very small, but an ok amount of meat, and it was tasty. Shared a few dishes: seven spice shrimp, octopus, ceviche, and oysters. Shrimp was interesting, but not my fave. But the presentation was cool! Octopus with gochujang for dipping. Again, just okay. Spicy coconut lemon-ginger ceviche was BOMB! Came with taro chips. Really enjoyed the ceviche. Oysters — well what can you say. I might go back to try new things, but their items are definitely on the pricer side soooo we’ll see.

I think I made the terrible mistake of coming here hungry. Between the six of us we ordered 8 plates, 1 dessert, and several drinks. Out of these, only the duck and cauliflower stood out. The others were satisfactory but forgettable. I wasn’t a fan of the vinaigrette kale with the scallops or the sweet clove flavor in the pork shank. Biggest letdown, however, is that the portions were teeny tiny! We paid a good amount of money for the food and all through dinner I found myself wondering what I was gonna snack on afterwards. The slow pace of the service didn’t help… Cocktails were real strong though so you’ll get your bang for your buck there!

I love the layout of this bar. We came in for a quick drink before catching our plane so we didn’t eat, but I would definitely return to try their food. I did sample the lemon ricotta cake with lavender crust which was very good. Good portion too. I don’t remember what drinks my husband and friend got but they were nice and strong but still smooth. I especially loved the background music they were playing which was classic hip hop(nas, tribe called quest, pharcyde, etc.).

I was looking forward to good happy hour but was highly disappointed. It had good potential the food was below average and the happy hour wine was overpriced. The final straw was the 20+ minutes it took for a bowl of broccoli blasted to come out. At 430 the place was far from busy. Will not be back. Servers were nice wine was good. Will try back at a later date

YUM! I recently moved to Seattle and visited Black Bottle for the first time for Valentine’s Day dinner with my boyfriend. I’d heard great things, plus I live across the street so it seemed like a good choice! I really like the décor in here — exposed brick, mood lighting, and a small, intimate space that doesn’t feel cramped. And the food is FANTASTIC. We tried the lamb meatballs/pita/hummus platter, which was incredible, followed by the blasted broccoli(!) & one of the flat bread pizzas. Great date night spot with delicious food! We can’t wait to come back and try even more off the menu.

was in Seattle for the weekend with the boyfriend and picked this place on Unilocal.we walked in and immediately got a table on a Friday. menu looked great, service was great and attentive but not annoying. food was better than expected and I definitely enjoyed it. the biggest concern? the portions for tapas were HUGE. aka we ordered four items and probably could have ordered two, maybe three. we ordered the lamb meatballs and hummus — came with four, but actually six I think, meatballs, good amount of hummus and tzatski, a pepper and olive salad, and several pieces of pita. I was expecting lamb and hummus. we also ordered a spinach salad, prosciutto flatbread, and steak. there were additions or huge portions to every dish which we were obviously fine with but not expecting! Overall, I would definitely come back. quality was solid.

It’s a little bit of an awkward taste to eat the sourness of the olive with the wheaty fried flavor on the outside. Plus, when they came to our table they were cold. That’s something that should be eaten out right out of the fryer. The Brie flatbread was nothing special and came out cold as well. I’m giving them 3 stars because of service and ambiance. Other than that, I don’t think I would come back. Maybe for drinks and that’s about it.

We came here for a private party over the weekend and I was thoroughly impressed! The room was for about 30−40ish people with plentiful seating. What I really liked was they allowed us to play our own music! We had one bartender to ourselves who was great and attentive. The food though– that exceeded my expectations. I ordered the spicy shrimp and boar ribs. The shrimp was indeed spicy and full of flavor. A the ribs were so tender, they were falling off the bone. It was delicious and the best thing I had all night! My friends ordered food as well, and of course I couldn’t help but to dip my finger in those too :) fried tofu with peanut sauce is a-ok. Oxtail was full of flavor(maybe even too much flavor) and delicious. Calamari was spicy and good. And the hangar steak was a little too salty for my tastes but still good! All in all, a wonderful experience!

This is a quintessential bell town restaurant. In a part of town 15 years ago that was burnout and only hosted a few good restaurants. Now thriving and always adding cool new places to tryout. This is definite one of them. The menu is very inventive and gives you options that you don’t see every day. They go out on a limb at times and don’t appear to be be scared to take risks with new cuisine ideas. Yes you are bold and fearless, love that! Tonight I tried the cauliflower fritters and raita, coconut lemon ceviche with taro chips, lamb meat balls with sumac hummus, pork shank with apple brandy and hazelnuts, bacon wrapped scallops with drizzled kale, crispy artichoke hearts with crispy farro & garlic. Yes that a lot of small plates but I like to try a bit of everything. I must say that it all was exceptional with just two exceptions. The lamb meat balls were very dry and the crispy artichoke was good though the farro had the texture of rocks? Our waitress was delightful and noticed that we were not digging too much on the artichoke. She offered to remove it from the bill before we asked. I commented this was very cool that she just did the right thing! Way to read your guests! I will definitely be back the next time I’m in Seattle this is a great place to go and see(taste) what’s cooking!

The remix. First dinner on my first night back in the emerald city. Everything was ok. I’ve come to realize that this joint is a neighborhood spot. I gave the 7 spiced skrimps a 2nd look, and it was the same as the first go around The Wilted Kale exactly the same, very good. The pork belly w/kim chi was very tasty, slightly spicy and braised, so it was super duper tender. Winner. Drinks were strong but just ok. I hate when the proper iced cube isn’t served w/a Manhattan even if it is a remix Sit outside if you can
