My 8 year old son started judo here a year and a half ago. With the support and training of the Senseis he has learned to love judo and the body-​mind connection. The dojo community here is simply wonderful and led by the husband and wife elder founders. I can’t imagine a better dojo.

I brought my 8 year old son to Budokan for his first judo class 8 weeks ago. There were 5 master instructors and 7 lucky students! That ratio is unheard of and the results show. These kids are learning fast and having fun in a safe and supportive environment. I have never been into martial arts before but I have since joined Budokan as well. We’re both thriving at the school and we are both looking forward to competing in our first white belt Judo comps in November. What a community. What fun.

Budokan is an elite judo club in Seattle. With previous members on US national judo teams and several current members as national champions, Budokan has a great range of judokas.
Early classes are great for getting the fundamentals down, while later classes have great instruction for competitors and lots of sparing. Folks are non-​pretentious, friendly and respectful. Great dojo!
